Abad Green Forest Resort

The forest ambience is awesome, including the black monkeys. There's a lot of staff managing the premises and grounds. We couldn't have breakfast because we had stomach issues. So the manager went out of the way to get us ginger lemon soda, and another associate helped us package our toast.

It was a quiet oasis in bustling Kumily. Good rooms and restaurant. Staff were excellent particularly reception team.

There was nothing we didn’t like but it doesn’t have an alcohol license.

Manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Bellboys were nice enough to carry my bag up the rocky and slippery steps in the drizzle. Nice to know I could tip the bellboys separately and the restaurant and the front desk separately. Front desk was kind enough to prepare a sandwich for 6 of us to take to the Periyar Tiger reserve as we had an early start and breakfast was not available then. We requested for the sandwich the previous day.

We specifically asked for twin sharing beds - 2 single beds for 2 rooms only and specifically emailed that beforehand when booking but did not get it. I mentioned that there are 2 male friends sharing each of the rooms and would be awkward to have a queen bed but that was not the case and they were disappointed. They were uncomfortable and complained to me about the sleeping disturbances.

Location is good. Room is nice.

Sometimes kids are noisy.

Amazing location and service. Food was good, breakfast had both Indian and western buffet options. I didn’t go into the pool because the weather was a bit cold but it looked lovely.

The property is located in a nice neighborhood but the facilities including the TV, fridge and intercom was not working.

Beautiful tropical setting in Kumily. Comfortable hotel with good food. We loved spotting wildlife on the hotel grounds.

There was absolutely nothing to dislike

Great location. Comfortable bed and decent shower. Ample breakfast options. Staff were generally helpful.

Wasn't always the right person on the desk to handle queries. Sun loungers were too few and most were in a state of disrepair.

Property is located very close to kumuly town. Very green area. Spotted malabar giant squirrell and malabar whistling thrush within the property. Breakfast was great. Its about 2-3 km from forrest check post so you may need transport to go there. Although walkable too. Shower could be better. We had requested extra bed. The extra bed was not very comfortable to sleep on.

Had a wonderful stay at Abad Green Woods, Thekkady! The resort is surrounded by greenery, giving a very peaceful and refreshing vibe. The rooms were clean, spacious and well-maintained.The best part was the service—right from the reception to the restaurant and housekeeping, every staff member was polite, friendly and always ready to help with a smile. Special mention to the front desk team for their warm welcome and smooth check-in. The restaurant staff was also very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.The food was amazing, with a great variety of dishes, all freshly prepared and delicious. Whether it was breakfast or dinner, everything tasted perfect.Overall, a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature with excellent service. Highly recommended! Will definitely visit again.

This reminded me of hotels I used to stay in as a child. The facilities, the meals, the room service, things like having bottled water delivered to our room every day..all the luxuries one can truly enjoy on holiday

Nothing to recommend. Dirty, old, full of bugs

Staff is helpful and polite, property location is very near by boating reporting bus stand and station, close to nature, view is excellent, hear bird singing, silent property, restaurants are close by, hotel restaurant serve good taste food, neat and clean, you can birds as well like Drongo, Jungle owlet, Barbet, and monkey, located in core of town and bus stand is near by as well

The location of the hotel which is very close to the places where Kathakali shows are given.Monkeys on the balcony of the room: the hotel is both within the city and close to the nature.

The staff (at the reception) not very friendly/smiling.The breakfast in a slightly noisy place (due to other tourists...we don't choose)

We had a great stay at the resort..The staff was very cordial..the food was really good..

The washroom at the AC jungle cottage could be maintained better
