    Pros +

    • Location was great. Room/Suite was amazing. Service was great. Amazing breakfast. Very nice area in the mid of nature. Lots of activities. Nice spa options and pool.
    • The facilities, the food, the comfort and proximity to nature.
    • Holiday house that is clean and comfortable … ideal for our relaxed post Christmas spa holiday. Friendly, helpful staff throughout the property. Excellent quality breakfast buffet. Good solid well managed spa facility.

    Cons -

    • Envening buffet was a little high in price for the food options available.
    • Usual niggles! Continued communication problems with NYE spa closing hour. No advice from Reception upon arrival of early closing time with website still saying 8pm. Checked with helpful spa staff and advised that, like last year, sauna would close at 6pm. On NYE, we were then told by different staff that spa would now be ‘turned off’ and we must vacate by 5pm! Otherwise, WiFi in the house is still crap … only good in main hotel building; continued issues with table allocation at breakfast … yes, it is a busy time and some guests continue to adopt the beach towel mentality, but …; and there are some maintenance issues with the house that we will address in a separate email to the hotel management.
    • The biggest disappointment was the customer service:1. Wi-Fi missing in our house - we asked to fix it at least 3 or 4 times - each time the staff promised to do it, but it was never repaired during the whole stay.2. Cleaning was never done during the whole stay. We don’t need it every day, but we asked to do it at least once in a few days of our stay - it was never done, even the garbage was never collected.3. Only reception staff is able to speak English (most of them, but not everyone)In general the hotel is too overcrowded - we had to queue to get a table for breakfast, at the reception etc. Apparently the breakfast should have been reserved, but we finally managed to get a table, but not the cutlery that we had to search by ourselves. The swimming pool is large enough, but well overcrowded. The water temperature was too cold. The pool is not managed anyhow and full of chaos - plenty of unattended children violating the rules, everyone was doing different things - diving (normally forbidden), ball games, shouting and running. It was not possible to swim straight or to relax quietly after the sauna. The changing room is extremely small with microscopic lockers with non working locks. No soap on the showers. Finally despite the house seemed great to us, there is a block on temperature control during the night making it cold and uncomfortable to sleep. The pillows were too thin and “liquid” for my taste- it’s personal, of course, but I had difficulties to sleep on them, so having a clear problem with the staff responsiveness explained above, I had to make myself another “pillow” from available materials.

Nice concept of summer houses with a restaurant, swimming pool and sauna, beautiful location for hiking. Nice and clean houses, large enough for an average family with 2-3 kids. There is a nice terrace outside and everything what can be needed inside including a little kitchen, dishes and cutlery to cook by yourself if you want. There is also a restaurant serving a good breakfast (included) and a very expensive dinner (paid separately). Parking is also quite convenient.

Wi-Fi missing in our house - we asked to fix it at least 3 or 4 times - each time the staff promised to do it, but it was never repaired during the whole stay.2. Dinner buffet was disappointing

Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean bungalows, good breakfast. Dog friendly. Good beds, nice and quiet at night.

Buffet meal was overly expensive (40 eur pp for limited starter and main course buffet). Bungalow interior is very outdated and lacks cosy feeling.

Slightly dated, yet very clean and neat.

The staff was nice. The brekfst was good. The hotel rooms were good

We arrived late famely of 5. The rooms were to far apart. There was no bedding for one person, no answer and no one in the lobby to help us with that :(

    Lovely location and amazing facilities

Not many people spoke English which made booking breakfast extremely difficult

    9EMPosted on: 5-26-2024

The domain including its facilities we're outstanding. Lots of space and privacy in the Ferienhausen. The facilities were divers and entertaining (swimming pool, wellness, mini golf, tennis) and the service meticulous from breakfast till dinner. We had an absolute blast discovering the Mosel area.

We couldn't stay longer and the weather wasn't the best. Two things Grafenwald can't do anything about!

    9Ana-mariaPosted on: 5-10-2024

The vacation home we got was extremely clean, staff were very friendly and helpful even though some did not speak English gladly. We were treated very kindly and had a great experience. The facilities such as the gym and the swimming pool and beauty services were also well organised. Wish we had stayed longer. Maybe next time.

The only thing that could be improved is the decor and furniture in the vacation houses as it is very old-fashioned and the couches had some old stains on them that were a little off-putting. Pillows were also uncomfortably thin.

Everything was fabalous we were in a cabin basic but everthing was there ..pool was a bonus in the morning and a great choice of breakfast hot and cold

    8SvenPosted on: 3-28-2024

The breakfast buffet is superb; it really leaves nothing to be desired. The dinner buffet needs to be discussed in a more differentiated way: The selection of appetizers is again superb, including the variety of sopus. About the main course, however, we were less enthusiastic. The meat choice was rather dry, but the sauce helps. There is nothing really attractice for children. While I'd agree that children should eat what is available, it doesn't help when they are complaining every evening that they don't like the food and just go for the desert (which is, again, nice with a selection of sweets and cheese.) The staff is usually attentive, but waiting next to be till I have actually finished the plate is overdoing it a little. The pool area is nice and fun for the kids.

We didn't know that the vacation houses have cold stone floor, so bring warm socks or you will have cold feet. Overall, the dinner buffet is pricey considering the main courses (but the appetizer buffer makes up for it).

Nice place to stay for a family with outdoor activities

Cottage smelt a bit musty, bathroom a little dated.

This was our third time here. As before, we booked a house - very comfortable and cozy with the new heating system; staff were very helpful and efficient; buffet breakfast was again very good; gym and sports/spa facilities enjoyable. Overall, despite some niggles (see below), it was a relaxing five night stay across New Year. P.S. Special appreciation due to the Director for locating a pair of favourite shoes left behind in our house and arranging to forward them to us!

Wifi is still crap in the house. You have to go to the main building to get any decent connection. Niggles …. some poor communication on the closing time for spa facility for NYE with website saying 8pm (details obtained via QR code on fact sheet provided at check in) … but we were ‘chucked out’ of sauna at 5:45pm for a 6pm close. Problems with table allocation at breakfast even though we had booked our “usual table” weeks before our arrival. Finally, an irritation … despite my comment last time, the picture behind the television has still not been rehung (see pic).

    Location, cleanliness

Room not ready at checkin time only 1.5 hours later. No discount offered on room rate only a refreshment at restaurant.Evening buffet overpriced since no table free until 20:00 they didn’t replenish the deserts anymore

We got a spacious holiday home and enjoyed the available facilities at the hotel (breakfast buffet, swimming pool, spa, and massage, the latter coming at additional cost). The hotel is beautifully located in the hillside.

The minigolf was in a poor state and could not be used. The dinner buffet was OK but not really fine dining.
