The guest house, housed in a building dating back to 1902, is 19 miles from Ellerspring mountain. There's free private parking, and the property features a paid airport shuttle service. At the guest house, units come with a wardrobe and a flat-screen TV. Every room is fitted with a coffee machine, a private bathroom, and free Wifi, while certain rooms have a terrace and some have garden views. Pros +
- The views over the valley and vineyards are breathtaking. Large shower room, spotlessly clean.
- Turned up to property but no one was there. Contacted by phone to say arrived but just answer machine
Cons -
- Parking for guests was not adequately signposted. We had to search the premises to find staff to check us in. Entrance to the small room above the offices was past a stack of crates. Nobody pointed out where the (superb) terrace was. There was no wardrobe in the room. The only decoration was a wine bottle with a stick in it. Coffee machine was outside the room shared with other rooms. There were no restaurants open Tuesday and Wednesday so not as advertised. With no possibility of dinner on site how can you enjoy the wine if you have to drive? We did not stay for the second night of our booking. Only got 50% refund but still not worth staying another night. I'm fluent in German so this is not just a case of failing to cope with the local habits.
- No one was there. Very out of the way to travel to with no one there. Had to find alternative accommodation at short notice.
