    Pros +

    • The staff were wonderfully kind and helpful. We felt truly welcome. Very comfortable, and the unsung hero for families is the kids play area in the common room, which we used daily. And the breakfast was top notch!! We'd come back here.
    • Friendly, helpful staff who made you feel welcome. Comfortable rooms with stunning views. A nice breakfast, nothing was too much trouble for staff.Cafe serves great coffee and cakes, black forest cake is amazing :)
    • Beautiful fresh breakfast and not far from public transport. The black forest cake in the cafe is amazing. The view from my balcony was stunning, loved watching the sunset from it. The staff are lovely. Highly recommend

    Cons -

    • It is an older place and our fridge didn't work. I agree with the other reviews that the bathrooms and dishes are a bit run down. But at the end of the day we had everything we really needed.
    • The hotel needs immediate renovation. It looks like it has been last modernised in the ‘70s and never touched since then. There’s a lot of dust, cog webs, some furniture elements either already fell off or are on the brink of falling off. Check in is in the bakery, so you wait forever with all the people buying their bread. There are flocks of flies all over the place. When we went for a breakfast there was nothing left and no one cared to bring more.
    • Bathroom is a bit older but clean and functional nothing bad

The hotel is nicely located and one can enjoy a nice panorama of the surrounding hills. It’s within a walking distance from the city centre. The room was ready on time and the staff was relatively friendly.

My stay at this delightful family-run hotel was absolutely wonderful. The stunning mountain views provided a serene backdrop, and the staff's friendliness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. I highly recommend this hotel for an exceptional and welcoming experience.

Nice rooms, picturesque building. Far from a standard hotel, but the staff and facilities were outstanding. Location is beautiful.

Nothing much to complain about. The church at about 6.00 AM, maybe.

    Exceptionally friendly and hearty staff.

Basic facilities, but cozy and nicely arranged, hearty furnished, so that it matches the overall-style. A very nice and recommendable place to stay!

Super friendly family run establishment. Breakfast great!

The church bells every 15min between 4qm and 10pm took some getting used too! They are musical.Thin, tiny towels...

Staff and room space are exceptional. View and location are imaginary. The atmosphere of the hotel was very enjoyable.Private bakery with delicious cakes and breads.

The room was old and needed renovation. In fact, the whole building needs major and minor renovation.

The staff were really friendly ,the location was fantastic, the breakfast was very good, about my room was really tiny but lovely.

I had a problem with WiFi, the signal was weak, it was really bad, I hope they will solve this before my next trip.

Nice place with very friendly staff and excellent breakfast (own bakery).

With luggage: Quite steep the way up to the Cafe,

The lady that manages the Café and did our checkin and checkout is very nice and friendly all the time.Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices and quality of products was amazing. Fresh bread was 5 stars. Also very nice location for the Black Forest trails with amazing views and less than 10min walk from train. Would go back again!

Towels are a little bit old and there is no shampoo or shower gel available.

The owner was amaizing person. Good service, great location. We arrived late and we were explained where to find places to eat. Breakfast was so great. Room was cozy. I would highly recommend the place. Really great service for what I would give so many stars.Kids friendly.

Good location and reasonable price for b&b. Good continental breakfast, staff friendly but I had the impression I wasn’t expected despite having booked (and paid) in advance.

Very dated furnishings, carpets in particular needed cleaning as grubby and stained. Tiny single bedroom provided despite my having paid for a double. No tea, coffee or bottled water provided in the room.

    9AlanPosted on: 9-2-2023

Great value for money. The bedrooms are above a bakery and you can smell the bread being baked early in the morning. Obviously the bread at breakfast was baked that morning and you really should try the pretzels. Their freshly baked pretzels are so much better than the ones normally offered.Staff were friendly.

The bathroom was a little dated and could do with a bit of modernisation. The shower door was faulty, but useable. There was only one unused mains socket in the room. If you need to recharge gadgets by your bedside, you need to unplug the bedside lamp and use it’s socketBe aware that the bakery is on a very steep hill. On a map, it looks close to the station. If you walk to town, you will get plenty of exercise walking back. On the other hand, being on a steep hill makes the view from the balcony better.

Very friendly owners, we got to park our motorcycles in the garage. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Good price. Room was clean. We would book again!

    7WenPosted on: 8-30-2023

The family touch, different generations working together, friendly and helpful. Excellent water pressure for the shower. The location is very convenient, close to the train station and hiking trails.

It was too noisy for me. I could hear the people next door using their bathroom and their TV blastering until very late at night. Fruit at breakfast was just a few sad apples and even the number of the apples was dwindling during the 3 days that I stayed, to just 1 last lonely one when I left on the last day.
