    Pros +

    • Owner is very nice¿fabulous coffee.
    • Good value for price. Free transportation to/from cruise ship. Great staff.
    • The hotel is in a great location for people taking cruises out of the local cruise port. The breakfast was well stocked and items were replaced quickly. We stayed in a suite and it was perfect! The size of the rooms and balcony were perfect after flying across the Atlantic. The hotel offered a private shuttle from the airport and to the cruise terminal which made it a no brainer to stay at.

    Cons -

    • Super outdated¿.AC not very cool. Mini bar advertised online with awesome pics¿we got 3 bottles of sparkling water¿we traded for still water. No chairs outside to enjoy patio. Doorknob was missing, wobbly toilet seat.
    • The beds were sufficient but nothing to write home about. The beds were thin and pretty firm. It wasn't a problem for me as I prefer that style, but other family members were expecting a little nicer of a mattress.
    • No usb ports to charge your electronics. Shower dorr very narrow. Even I am skinny still have a hard time getting in.

Hotel Traiano is a quaint hotel located within walking distance to small reataurants and delicious gelato shops. The room was great and the breakfast was wonderful! The staff is hard working and very pleasant.

    The bed was bumpy!

The staff was very accommodating, and nice. The transfer from the airport was timely, and driver friendly, the breakfast was good, the restaurant they suggested at their sister location was good, and the staff there was great.

The bed was like a rock, I suggest a topper. Also, although they had converters upon request, a usb charger in the room would have been great given many who stayed were Americans and Canadians.

It was quaint. Geographically desirable. Great area for a nice walk. A quick shuttle to the family restaurant, no charge, so yummy. Fresh fruit and vegetable market, next block over. Would stay again

Beautiful old interiors, woodwork, and space. Multiple beds, available kitchenette, breakfast was available in hotel with stay. Shuttle from airport to hotel and hotel to port was available at a price. Front desk person was very helpful. Close to port. Grocery store and pizza places walking distance.

Hotel beds were very very hard I had to sleep on the couch. Toilet seat was very loose. Limited restaurants available within close walking distance. Breakfast food was average.

    Big room. We were upgraded.

The beds weren’t great at all.

It was clean and our airport pickup was excellent.

The room had a tea kettle but no tea or cups. There were 2 packets of lotion. This was the only extra amenity. It rained while we were there, and a door in the bathroom leaked during the night. The floor was very wet. Walking into the bathroom during the night was dangerous, and I almost fell. We used towels to dry it. We were very disappointed.

Conveniently located to the port. Good customer service with transfers from airport and to cruise ship.

    All was fine.

The breakfast was very good. Nice selections.

The location has no restaurants nearby. However, they staff has a connection with a hotel a couple of miles away, and was able to transport us for a lovely dinner.

    7LethaPosted on: 10-15-2025

Staff friendly and very helpful with transportation from airport to hotel and then hotel to cruise ship.

Location not situated in a walkable location for dining or meandering.

The staff in this location is superb! We arrived at the hotel at 10:30 AM, and they told us our room was ready. After taking a red eye to Italy from the United States, this was welcome news. They also told us we could have an extended check out until 11 AM, when we caught the shuttle to the cruise ship. The room itself was huge. We had a one bedroom suite, with two beds in the bedroom. The beds were comfortably enough, and the curtains provided for a very dark night. The Location is fantastic! You can walk to the old city, and along the seawall. You have access to a lot of inexpensive restaurants as well. I also like the fact that they were able to provide us with a shuttle from the airport in Rome to the hotel. It all went so smoothly! Don't be concerned about things going wrong. You can have confidence they will provide good service! It was also a very good value for what we got. The property is older, but all of the positives outweigh this.

We were greeted immediately at the front desk. Young man at the desk was very nice and helpful. The hotel had an elevator room was clean and air-conditioned.

We were there on Sunday late afternoon. There were no restaurants open in the area at that time. We should have grabbed something to eat when we got off the train but did not realize.

Our stay at Hotel Traiano was great!! This family owned hotel met all our Pre-cruise and Post-Cruise needs and expectations regarding our stay and transportation both ways between Rome and Civitavecchia!! Our driver Mike promptly picked us up at the Rome airport and took us on a 45 min. scenic drive to Civitavecchia. Johnny, the hotel manager recommended and arranged transport for a short city tour and to a quaint waterfront restaurant for our first Pizza dinner in Italy!! As planned in advance we were picked up at our cruise ship and taken back to Rome to our hotel there prior to our flight home. Highly Recommend contacting Hotel Traiano for your next Med Cruise!!
