    Cons -

    • Staff was not friendly at all. Drinks weren't cold, beer and red wine were warm (like glühwein). Carpet in room not clean, bathroom had some defects. They count taxes twice on te bill!! Breakfast simple but very expensive for what is was. Never again!
    • long wait in restaurant , after half an hour all we had was a munu
    • When walking along the dingey corridor to our room, on opening the room door, we were very dissappointed. this almost made us leave and would have done so had we not paid via pre booking credit card. A small, old fashioned, poorly decorated room with floor covering boards coming apart with 10mm gaps. The bathroom was poor with dark mould around the shower tray and poor fitting and unpainted trim around the outside of the shower tray containing dirt. The bed was a double not a king size but the room was so small it probably couldn't accept one. We had a Classic room. When we go away we expect a room or similar standard to home or better. Travel lodges, Premier Inns, Holiday Inns fulfil this requirement.

Good value and a good location. Not the height of luxury but that's reflected in the price. Dinner was good - nice, lively restaurant and very good staff. Great view over the estuary. Very well situated for walking around the town and along the promenade.

Room was a little compact. Parking tricky too - but it did seem to be a particularly busy weekend in the town.

The view and the food in the restaurant.

Not welcomed at our arrival. Room disappointingly small.

    Location

Room dirty, toilet odour rotten wood can of air fresher won’t remove that type of smell. Complaint shrugged off. No where for a quiet beer before dinner. No Hot bacon not available , no cold milk .

    Location

No lift so access to second floor was two flights of steep stairs

    8BerengerePosted on: 8-10-2023

    Large comfy room. Great location.

Wifi not reliable. Breakfast good but a bit on the pricey side (but you don't have to take it).

We arrived late and were helped, with great courtesy, to find an impromptu meal from a lovely cheese shop close by.View and situation magnificent.

View from a window - like in a facility description, clear view to a bay!Water boiler in a room.Parking close to the hotel.Location!

A sink was fully blocked. Impossible to use. Looks like permanent problem which nobody takes care! Water did not went out even after 12h.Very acoustic room with neighbors.

    Wonderful position and views.

Not all of the food was good. Breakfast bread nearly stale and main course in evening very tough and so overseasoned as to be unpleasant. Staff not interested when told. Starters were very goodVery small shower but lovely room.

Good location, lovely view from room

Small room, no mirror in bedroom & broken shower door

    5GuyPosted on: 8-25-2022

    Location and breakfast, good

Bathroom was tatty and smelt of drains.Staff were not particularly helpful and a little surly.

    5RichardPosted on: 8-18-2022

Location is great. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was nice.

The room was very small. It was not possible for two people to pass at the sides of the bed and tight at the foot. The shower was just OK but the flimsy shower curtain with several hooks missing was not good. Everything looked tired and old. Dinner was included and food was OK but much better was widely available for a similar price. Wine with the meal was limited in choice and price was relatively high. Take B&B if available and eat elsewhere.

    3NigelPosted on: 8-11-2022

    breakfast was good

Limited menu for guests. Why? Room was at the top of 3 flights of stairs with no lift. Not very good when you have heavy luggae and health problems. The wifi did not work. Expensive for what it offered. No parking space for cars. We had to leave our campervan on a busy street. Once we could find a place to park

We loved the location and friendly, welcoming staff. The restaurant offered good choice - good food and value for money. Our room was more than adequate and overlooked the River. The town is lovely.

The room was a bit small and so was the bathroom. But it does not pretend to be more.

    7MalclolmPosted on: 6-1-2022

Our visit was arranged at the last minute as a quick overnight stop on the way home via the tunnel. We arrived at 22.00 pm. The room was adequate and the breakfast excellent. Unfortunately we had little time to explore the area.

The water could have been hotter. Only comfortable for one shower.
