    Cons -

    • No staff or restaurant on Sunday
    • The residence is situated at the convergence of two major roads through the town and extremely close to a 7/24 mini mart. The streets are cobbled so the sound of vehicles travelling on the roads is amplified considerably adding to an extraordinary level of street noise. That said, it's probably not so bad in the out of season months. There is no air-conditioning of any sort so the rooms are very warm and it's a toss up between sleeping and sweating all night or having the windows open and just not sleeping because of the noise.I think guests are just an additional way of making some cash for this business as there was no "guest" type pleasantries with the staff. if you weren't a local in the bar then you dam well knew it.I had initially requested to stay an additional night but having had little sleep I opted to move on a day early. It's quite pricey for what you get and an IBIS costs you the same but is far superior. I'm not a fussy person as I travelled 80,000 miles across 19 countries by Motorcycle but this place was just not for me.

The location, rooms and staff were great. We had the buffet breakfast which was excellent with a lot of choice.Parking (free for 45 minutes) immediately outside to allow drop off of bags and longer term paid parking available within 75m of hotel (3 hours parking cost 3 euro, free overnight). Despite the late check in time given on Booking.com, we contacted the hotel and they allowed us to check in early afternoon. Would recommend if you want a hotel close to the centre but also quiet overnight.

In the town centre, has it's own bar and restaurant which are both very nice. The owners were very helpful and couldn't do enough to make my stay more comfortableThere is a garage that they let me use to park my motorcycle in. It is very secure and out of the way, just a few meters around the corner

    location

It would have been nice to sit outside in the evening but it was closed. lots of other bars / restaurants close by.

The location was nice and pretty convenient. We were able to find parking on the street. The room was clean

There was no air-conditioning, so we couldn't close the windows and get some peace and quiet... There was too much loud noise coming from outside, but it was too hot to close the windows at all.

Perfect location in St Omer, plentiful breakfast, dry friendly informative host who gave us the family history of the hotel and explained the photographs displayed.

    No tea/coffee facilities in room.

Breakfast was fine. Our room was rather cramped with no fan or ventilation. Rather dated but ok.

    7TerryPosted on: 9-9-2024

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. We received a warm welcome and given our key to the room. The beds were comfortable enough and facilities sufficient for our needs.

The only real issue we had was overheating. It was so warm and stuffy overnight. There were large windows we could open but there was a beer festival in the town and it was quite noisy....unless the windows were closed. Just timing I guess but a fan would have been helpful. Like many small hotels, the rooms looked dated but served our purpose just fine

Easy booking in and out. Location superb for exploring the town and cathedral. Clean and comfortable.

The restaurant below the rooms was very nice with a dining terrace looking out onto the small but busy square. There was some street parking in the square and a large pay-and-display car park right next door. The town itself is very picturesque with narrow pedestrian streets full of bars and shops leading up from the hotel square to a much larger one after a short walk. The landlord was very friendly and solicitous, checking in was easy and there was a roomy lift to the upper storeys. The room had a comfortable bed, TV, table & a shower, sink & toilet in a separate room.

The bathroom was tiny with the sink jammed close up to the toilet. While the toilet in the restaurant was very clean, our room and especially our bathroom was not properly clean with slapdash cleaning of the porcelain and very little dusting having been done. There was no air conditioning and the windows were old and single-glazed.

Lovely traditional hotel in the centre of St Omer a short drive from Calais so perfect for an overnight stop. Very reasonably priced parking a short walk from the hotel. Everything was excellent- fully equipped bedroom with comfortable bed and quality bedding. Breakfast was 10€ per person but is exceptional value- great coffee and excellent quality. In addition to this, this is a hotel restaurant. We ate at the restaurant and can highly recommend it. We sat outside overlooking the square and it was perfect- a good menu, reasonably priced and excellent quality. The staff were friendly and very patient!

Our bedroom was clean, comfortable and fully equipped but we would have preferred a room where we could look out of the windows! Our windows were too high, presumably because we were on a top floor.

    Good location

Rooms and restrooms were dirty, too much noise. no air conditioning or fan. Making rooms even though it says non smoking rooms.
