    Pros +

    • This was a great place to stop with only one hour's drive to the tunnel. The hotel was a little dated but it gave us all we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The car park was secure which was a bonus as we had two motorcycles. I would probably stay here again if we were using the tunnel to return home.
    • The staff all! very polite and helpful. The hotel is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with indoor and outdoor dinning areas. Plentiful choice at Breakfast. The restaurant we found to be very good and ate there our first evening, food was delicious.. The location in Saint-Omer is perfect, a very beautiful town and very close to Calais (app 40Km)
    • Food and staff great. Bedrooms inside were comfortable and clean

    Cons -

    • I have no complaints at all
    • We emailed beforehand as we had been travelling all day and wanted a quiet room. The hotel emailed us back saying not a problem. We were given room 225 which unfortunately was next to the outside bin and storage area of the restaurant. It was too noisy due to staff emptying into bins etc. I did pass this to the receptionist.

Excellent location for an overnight stay before going to Le Shuttle. A very comfortable 40 minute drive to Le Shuttle. the Toll Road was only a few Euros ??Breakfast was excellent!! 5*Room was very nice, and beds very comfortableThere is a fantastic pizza place (and other food) next to the hotel. Great, very reasonably priced food.A very large Carrefour supermarket about a 5 - 10 minute drive awayGreat location, and very friendly helpful staffI’d stay there again!!

    Nothing!

Spacious family room on the ground floor. Sofa bed turned into two singles rather than a double which is so much better for older kids. Great secure parking. Polite and welcoming staff.

This is my second stay at this hotel & it's such a great find. I stayed on a work trip & it was 10 mins from where I needed to be & is only a 40 minute drive from Calais. It's super comfortable, really nicely decorated, the staff are super-friendly & very pleasant & as a solo, female traveller, I find it a very safe, comfortable place to stay. I feel very at ease there. The beds are comfy, parking is convenient (€12 per night in secure car park at the back of the hotel) & breakfast is delightful. Dinner is served in the restaurant from 7pm.

The only thing that could be slightly improved for me is the shower - it could be a little more powerful.

There was plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Ihe room was a good size and it was in a quiet location. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The hotel is closed to the railway station and only a few minutes walk to the Cathedral and area with shops and restaurants.

    Reasonable location

No drinking water, no sugar, only one bath towel, only one face towel. Just the bare minimum provisions in room. Minibar in fridge was empty. The sheet was too small for the bed. The undersheet caused sweatiness, and made the sheet slide off. Room ok, but basics been forgotten about.

    Not a lot

Room 216 - v bad drain like smell. Asked reception to be relocated but told hotel fully booked and could offer us a diffuser. Unlikely hotel fully booked at this time of year!! On re looking at booking.com found several rooms still available. Went down to reception to tell them and surprise surprise told they had had a cancellation so could relocate us. Think this was an upgraded room but small, cramped and coffee machine broken which was annoying as planning an early start and reluctant to pay for 17 euros breakfast. Dinner poor - husbands beef kebab virtually inedible but not offered a refund. Guess we should have pushed it but too exhausted.

The hotel is very welcoming & very dog friendly we were given a ground floor room with outside space & they left a bowl of dog biscuits & water bowl in the room which was much appreciated & we ate dinner in the restaurant that night, the food was exceptional

Easy to find, easy check-in, easy parking - friendly staff

The staff on reception are outstanding, so helpful, great relationship with guests. A welcome at a Hotel sets the first impression and the reception staff could not have made the check in smoother and were helpful with every question. The Hotel is about 500m from the main bars and restaurants. However the bar at the Hotel is pleasant and again staff helpful.Breakfast is amazing. I can't find enough words to praise it.Rooms spotless.

No milk for tea in the bedroom. That's it just the milk.

    9RichardPosted on: 1-5-2025

Beautifully furnished throughout, excellent food in hotel restaurant, easy parking.

Temperature a little on the cool side in the bar area.

Great quality hotel with beautiful room. Lovely welcome for our dogs too!

Only thing we didn't like was the plastic matress protectors make sleeping noisy and less comfortable than it could have been.

Disastrous Experience – Avoid at All Costs

Our stay at Mercure Saint Omer Centre Gare from December 24th to 26th in a Privilège room was an absolute disaster.1.Room Not Cleaned:On the evening of December 25th, at 10 PM, we returned to find our room had not been cleaned. No fresh towels, no water, no coffee replenished. While the receptionist was kind enough to bring us towels that night, this bare minimum does not make up for the complete failure in service.2.Rude Receptionist:The next morning, the receptionist dismissed our complaint by saying, “everything is already paid for,” as if this justified the lack of service. This was an appalling and unprofessional response.3.Accusations of Lying:When we escalated our complaint, the hotel management accused us of displaying a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door, which is blatantly false. We had placed the sign saying, “Exploring. You can enter the room.” We double-checked it multiple times before leaving. Their response shows either complete incompetence or deliberate dishonesty to cover for their staff’s failures. This experience was beyond disappointing. Avoid this place at all costs!

Good sized room. Staff very friendly with excellent English. Easy access to private car park. Short walk to the town centre.

One large towel one small towel for two people seems a bit mean. Bed wasn't comfortable for either of us.
