We stayed here before and found the staff and hotel very welcoming and friendly. Great location, beautiful for exploring the surrounding area.

We were very friendly made welcome at our check-in.The room was very nice, spacious and very clean. We very much enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well as the nice atmosphere sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the view over the canal.We did enjoy our stay, so we already made a booking for Spring next year.

Too cold, the heater in the room also in the bathroom don’t work at all. We were freezing till the morning . To be honest it was very cold and made me headache because I barely slept at night ?‍↕️ other than that everything is good.

Lovely hotel in a great little town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and very quiet.

The only drawback was no parking.

Rivers hotel has great location in the center of Sluis. The rooms are located above the restaurant. The breakfast is nice and the staff is very friendly.

The room we had was not too spacious and quite warm despite the fan that was provided. The bathroom smelled like the sewage when we first came in, probably because the shower was not used shortly before we arrived. It would have been nice if that was checked before our arrival.

Simple but very functional room. Very clean and well thought out aesthetically and functionality. Wonder managing hosts were extremely gracious and courteous. Could not have been better. Great stay for a visit to Sluis.

Very nice and friendly staff. As there were not many guests they planned to close the restaurant earlier than usual, but informed us upfront to check whether we wanted to eat there or somewhere else (where they also had some recos due to now many guests in town). Good location close to the canal. You can go everywhere by foot. Very nice town with many shops and restaurants. Nicely renovated room.

Not a lot of intimacy in the bathroom with a glas door towards the room. Very soft mattresses! Not good for my back. Rooms renovated, but the carpet in the corridor could tell you a lot of stories... ;-)Parking situation a bit difficult for a longer stay, but okay for a short stay as it's everywhere in the town free as of 18:00 until the next morning.

Location is in the centre of town so good for getting around. The room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was exceptional with loads of choice. Staff were friendly and very helpful - we will be staying again. Also tried the restaurant food and that was really good and well presented.

New mattresses required please as did sink a bit in the middle but it didn’t spoil our stay ?

Located in a splendid city, on the bank of a water canal. Large, welcoming, modern and comfortable rooms. Friendly and helpful person. Breakfast was very good. I recommend this hotel with all my heart. We felt wonderful here. If I come to this area again, I will stay at this hotel for sure. Everything was perfect.

steep stairs to room, we were lucky to park close to hotel but this parking could be an issue if busy

Hotel is located in the city centre, just in front of the beautiful view of the water! Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The room we stayed in was big and we even had a little kitchen! Very much worth the money :)

Friendly reception, good food, comfy beds, fairly quiet room. The availability of gluten-free bread at breakfast. (per request)

Fairly narrow, winding stairs to get to the upper floors. No possibility to change the height of the "normal" shower head.

Right in the middel of the historic old town, it doesn't get any beter. Breakfast was great: fresh, plenty of choices and goed Coffee and fresh Orange jus.

parking a little way off about 5 mins walk in a public car park so not guaranteed a place if it’s busy as Sluis always seems to be - focus of staff is on the restaurant side the rooms seem to be more of a side line

Room and bathroom were modern and very clean. In the centre of the village, close to many nice shops!

Fan instead of airco is not sufficient when outside temperature is 30+ degrees Celsius. No elevator, and no service offered to bring luggage to 2nd floor (= 4 stairs...). It felt like the hotel-guests are less important than the many visitors to the bar and restaurant.

Brilliant location. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were spacious, well furnished and very clean. We had a large private terrace with our room. Parking was free and about a 5-10 minute walk away. The bar downstairs had a good selection of light snacks and was welcomed after a drive up from Calais. My only criticism was that I found the mattress so soft.

Prompt check-in at arrival with beautiful cosy room at the front side of the hotel overlooking the canal. The shower was just perfect and the room was impeccable. Great breakfast too.
