We booked a last minute trip to Texel from Amsterdam and Hotel Kogerstaete was one of the few places available - but it turned out to be perfect. We had a big 1 bedroom suite which was great. Spacious and clean with high quality furnishings and finish. We ended up eating breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and they were both delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is a 2 minute walk from the main pedestrian area in town and a short walk or bike ride to the beach.

The room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The balcony was very nice. The bed was very comfortable. The coffee machine in the room was very much appreciated.

A terrible smell was in the bathroom for the 4 days we were there. We asked the reception to solve the problem 3 times. They always responded very kindly but they never managed to actually solve the problem. The smell was unbearable most of the time. We had to put a towel to close the space under the bathroom door (which we always kept closed) in order to be able to sleep. I was expecting they would offer us another room but this didn't happen. We had to pre-order the breakfast for the next morning. This is a good idea in order to avoid throwing food away. But it was not very convenient because we did not know what exactly each item was by just seeing a list of items. We also were not able to select at which table to sit for breakfast or at what time we could have breakfast. Available times were restricted. Even though we pre-ordered from the previous afternoon what we wanted for breakfast, most of the times we did not received what we have selected. This happened almost every morning, not just once. Also they said it is possible to order extras during breakfast if we wanted, but this was not the case, not even for an extra ciabatta bread! Some of the waiters did not speak English and they did not understand what we wanted… they even kept speaking Dutch to us.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The breakfast was a highlight; I appreciated the approach of pre-selecting my meal items, which were ready upon my arrival each morning—this made for a very efficient and enjoyable start to my day.The room was another highlight—spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The bed was particularly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Additionally, the hotel's central location was extremely convenient, allowing easy access to the beach, various dining options, and the bus station. This proximity made my stay both enjoyable and convenient.

The personal attention from the staff was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. We looked forward to our breakfast every morning! We also recommend the restaurant for dinner.

A quiet area just outside of the rowdy centre. A beautiful outdoor terrace. Heated outdoor seating and very friendly staff. The welcome was lovely and the food very good. Breakfast was elaborate very good even though we forgot to pre-order the night before. The bed was large and comfortable. If visiting Texel, I would recommend this place. For Dutch standards it’s good. A bit pricy for what you get but ok.

The room (176 euro for 1 night) was small with a slanted ceiling so very limited space to move. Unfortunately these lowered, office style tiled ceilings in many Dutch places remove any feeling for romance and really lack taste.We booked a table for dinner and arrived early to have a drink outside and this wasn’t received well as all staff were too busy to serve us. When I went inside after 20 minutes and offered to take my own drink outside I was sent back outside to wait. The terrace outside was empty. I appreciate needing to stick to procedure but this demonstrated lack of customer understanding and flexibility.

We had a lovely stay with our 3 children. The 2 rooms we booked were opposite each other at the end of corridor which provided close proximity as well as privacy. The location was perfect in terms of proximity to cycle rides, the beach, and restaurants and shops. The hotel was very flexible in terms of eating arrangements whilst keeping strict covid protocol. The friendly and helpful staff helped to make our stay very relaxing.
