Pros +
- The warm hospitality, excellent Michelin star cuisin and thoughtful extra touches (like organizing bikes).
- The receptionists were friendly. The location was pleasant. The standard room was a decent size..
- We know it well. A lovely, warm welcome from Valentine. Easy parking, help with the bags. Lovely pre dinner drinks by the fire. Dog friendly table in the Bistro. Wine list to die for. Beautiful food (gluten/dairy aware), great desserts and an Armagnac that was divine. Super room and bathroom. Dog bed. Just great.
Cons -
- Nothing—we were completely satisfied.
- I had requested a reservation in the Michelin restaurant in December (6 months before our arrival) so was surprised that I was given a reservation in the bistro instead. However I accepted this and our reservation was confirmed on arrival. It was therefore surprising that the maitre d' did not appear to have a record of our booking and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome while she checked it out with reception. There was some confusion about where our table should be and eventually we were seated in the courtyard usually used by the bar customers. This created its own confusioon as the waiting staff did not appear to be sure who should be serving us and with which menu. Eventually our order was taken and after a long wait we received our starters which were pleasant. There was then an extremely long wait before our main course arrived while we noticed that everyone who had arrived after us and were seated in the restaurant were being served. We felt as though we had been forgotten and had become invisible. Eventually our main course arrived and it was extremely disappointing. Three of us had chosen fish and chips. However it looked like overcooked fish fingers with thinly grated overfried potatoes decorating the top, and it was dry, greasy and tasted like cardboard. I was unable to eat most of it. During the meal three of us asked at different times for a glass of wine or a coffee. Our order appeared to have been taken by the waiter each time but none of them ever arrived at our table. This was the start of our three week tour around France and we had anticipated that this would be the highlight of our trip. Instead it was the lowest point of the trip. We have noted the excellent reviews from others and were disappointed that we did not experience the same. We have also noticed several other poor reviews in June. Perhaps it was just bad timing on our part but what a shame and we will not be back.

A fabulous room and great food and drink with very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
A great stop over on the journey from Provence to England; clean and comfortable rooms, a delicous meal in the Bistro, and a very warm welcome from Valentin.
A very warm welcome from Valentin and all the staff. The bistro was perfect for supper after a long drive of 800km from Angleterre. Room was ideal, clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Very much liked the flat floors, including into the shower. Can't fault it. Breakfast was delicious - the most superb jam. The team told us who supplied it - a farm high above Nuits St Georges - so we visited it driving down the Route des Grands Crus. And they gave us some coffee pour emporter for the road south.
La Rotisserie was in a beautiful little village surrounded by vineyards. It was a wonderful place to stroll around with a fantastic little café to sit and watch the world go by. The interior was beautifully done and we particularly loved the Wine Bar.
La Rotisserie does not have a garden and views are of other buildings rather than vineyards which was a minor disappointment. Our room did not have a bath which was a disappointment when the advertisement was for “ensuite bathroom”. To be fair to the staff, we had booked one of the cheaper rooms and they had put us in a larger room so that we have more room for our dog.
We had a lovely stay again at this hotel. Lovely room, nice facilities. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to make the stay perfect. Dogs are very welcome. Excellent diner in the bistro, where only locally sourced ingredients are used. Truly recommend.
Beautiful property with a great Bistrot and perfect location on the wine trail in Burgundy. Spacious room and very quiet in January which I liked!
Room was modern, comfortable and ideal for a one night stop over on the way tor the alps. Restaurant was very good. Possibly best steak I have ever had. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Definitely will return.
Never fails to provide sanctuary on route to the alps!Breakfast was particularly good this time - local good quality ingredients and worth every penny to set us up for our onward journey.
Beautiful building set in a picturesque village. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean with lovely little extras you don’t always get elsewhere. The Cave was a great place to try the local wine with a stunning collection of wines for you to take home. The restaurant was nice and laid back, the food was of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. Breakfast had an array of local produce plus you could order eggs and bacon if you wished. The staff were very friendly and took time to chat and ensure you had everything you needed. We will definitely be back for a longer visit with our doggies.
Nothing at all.
The room was spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed. We were warmly greeted by Valentine who took our luggage promptly and explained the layout of the property.
There was nothing to dislike.
The dinner and breakfast had been very delicious. The staff is very friendly. We felt very compfortable and have already booked our next stay in 2025.
Nothing to say.
Superb
The dinner in the Table D’Hote took far too long! 3.5 hoursWe had a very long wait for our scrambled eggs at breakfastNo tissues in bathroom and could invest in a better makeup / shaving mirror Otherwise room was great
The hotel, separate from the restaurants, was amazing and cozy. The staff was so friendly and we greatly enjoyed our time with the Sommelier.
Restaurants are not good - we picked this hotel because of the michelen rated restaurants. The bib gourgmand rated Bistro Lucien is bland. The Michel starred Le Table Hotes was appalling… had to force ourselves to swallow bites of the food.
Very good shower, bed quite comfortable pillows not brilliant so we take our own now. Restaurant good but lack of fresh vegetables on main courses, we ask for salad which is not on the menu now.
Closed sunday and monday nights, why???? You must miss out on so much business and tourists travel at weekends to and from south of France so an ideal stopping place.
Beautiful location right in the heart of the Gevrey Chambertin vineyards. Super dog friendly and really lovely staff
Great position in a dreamy vineyard village. Warm welcome for us and our dog. We dont eat meat but this was no issue. They cooked a fab tuna starter and mackerel for main course, all gluten and dairy free. Nothing here was an issue, especially the parking which was off street and outside the front door. An effortless stopover. Thank you
Nothing not to like here
very pleasant overnight stay one hotel that I would definitely go back to. food very good and the staff very very helpful lovely little village.
