- Staff were amazing and made us feel welcome. Food was great : For breakfast, you could order 1 ala carte dish + anything from the buffet. Lunch was ala carte off a menu ( some items changed everyday ) and dinner was a 3 course ala carte meal. Snorkeling off the beach was great too. Spacious room a few feet away from the water Lots of activities if you wanted to keep busy. They also had a seafood special which we wish we have taken advantage of consisting of lobster + prawns etc. for a very good price.

- What an AMAZING and WONDERFUL time we had at the Octopus Resort! Even before we arrived, being met at the airport and brought to Waya Island by ferry after flying into Nadi, we felt cared for and warmly welcomed. I even got carried from the dinghy to the shore upon arrival, so my shoes wouldn't get wet. The staff are the best! Most of them are from the local village, and are personable, warm and utterly lovely. They paid great attention to detail, to our well being, and to creating a welcoming, friendly and genuine environment. From singing a greeting as we walked up the beach from our shuttle boat, to singing during dinner, having games, visits to the village and activities such as cooking and preparing coconuts, they provided interesting and fun activities, to complement the INCREDIBLE snorkeling on the pristine reef, and other activities such as kayaking, swimming and scuba diving. The pool is gorgeous, and the beach, divine …. filled with shells and adorable hermit crabs, whose tracks criss-crossed the beach. Our room was gorgeous (Point 1 — highly recommend if you’re looking for peace, quiet, and a picture perfect view of the beach), and the outdoor shower …… wow!!!!! I’ve never seen anything like it. This place is very special — a real gem. I can see coming back here again and again ….. it’s quite different than the bigger, flashier, more touristy resorts. We wanted something more off the beaten track, and the Octopus Resort was beyond our wildest dreams. We did not want to leave. Totally recommend!!!!
Cons -
- Dive shop staff didn't seem overly interested and lacked the upbeat vide of the other resort staff. They also didn't have much stock of coconuts which was a shame. If they did, it was at room temp.
- I just loved it. Every bit of it!
- Our bura had stale cologne smell which we couldn't get rid of for 3 nights.

I just loved it. Every bit of it!
Resort is located on a very wide and long sandy beach on Waya island. Our apartment was just on it, we had a nice sunbed just for us. Bura is very spacious with a small balcony with another sunbed if you want some shade. Our bed was very comfortable and we had both fans and AC. The bathroom was big, with 2 sinks and a open air shower. It is mandatory to take their full board meal plan. All breakfast, lunch and dinner are a la carte and you can choose between several options. The food is very delicious. There is also coffee and water free all day round. We took direct shuttle from Nadi to the resort and turned out to be a great thing to do. It is cheaper than Yasawa Flyer and the ride was shorter. We had very calm ocean at the time, but I guess it might be a little bumpy if there are waves since the boat is for 20 people max.
Our bura had stale cologne smell which we couldn't get rid of for 3 nights.
The staff were nice and welcoming, making a good atmosphere with dancing and live music on the evenings, as well as nice gestures for us.The reef was amazing, very nice snorkeling, crystal clear water.
. We had sewerage smell next to the room, shared showers and bathroom weren’t clean and needs a little renovation (also the deck the paddle boat can use some maintenance). The workshops schedule wasn’t consistent, slots got canceled without notice, which made us very disappointed mostly because the workshops were the reason we decided to get to this resort.
Location, bure, housekeeping and spa
Food was very subpar. Bar and restaurant staff poorly trained
Housekeeping, spa and rooms
Food was terrible. “Grilled fish” was microwaved. Tasteless. Do not do “night snorkeling”. They literally hand you a flashlight and tell you to walk into the pitch black ocean. Employees seemed to be uninterested in anything.
Location was great. Super scenic island. Nice beach. It was very windy with occasional heavy rain while I was there which limited what I could do. I would like to come back when it is not super windy to snorkel more and ideally kayak a lot. People are super nice at the resort. That seems to be the case with the people in Fiji, they are unusually friendly. I liked the social tables where you can eat dinner with other people traveling who want to socialize. They also have an inexpensive spa where I got some solid massages when it was raining and too windy to do much else.
probably only downside was just the very strong winds, but that was just bad luck on my part.
I really liked the meal selection and the ease with which we could schedule and enjoy activities. The staff was remarkable and attentive. I have never been treated so well at a resort.
Kayak and paddleboarding tours that traveled further away from the resort.
Octopus Resort is a vibrant, welcoming, and breathtakingly beautiful retreat that captures the essence of Fiji. Set on a pristine beach with crystal-clear water and incredible sunsets, the location alone is worth the visit, but it’s the warmth of the people and the energy of the resort that truly make it special. The food was delicious, fresh, and varied, with set menus and themed nights that kept every meal exciting. The staff are absolutely amazing: warm, funny, and genuinely invested in making your stay memorable. They welcomed us with songs and made us feel part of the island family.Activities are abundant—snorkeling, scuba diving, yoga, cultural experiences, or simply relaxing with a cocktail under a palm tree. The house reef is teeming with marine life, just steps from the shore.Octopus Resort delivers a perfect blend of natural beauty, great food, friendly people, and unforgettable experiences.
Grounds very well maintained and snorkeling from the facility is breathtakingly amazing. Food waaay better than expected , multiple choices and excellent preparations
Nothing to complain about. Attention to details and service shows
Lovely location. Staff were marvellous. Lots of activities which were well done. Great $$ value as best I can tell from my on line search. Huge range of options from very budget to high end.
Beautiful Coral full of fish just of the resort. The food package was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the daily activities.
Beautiful and peaceful resort with amazing staff. I recommend to use the possibilities to meet the locals on the island as we learned a lot about Fijian culture. In general a top tier resort.
In general not much to complain except that I would have been nice that drinks are included in the already expensive meal plan.
Our time at Octopus Resort was literally the best holiday we’ve ever had! The most friendly staff, absolutely breathtaking location, great food, a small resort (which was what we were looking for) but with so many fun activities for all ages!!We want to go back there as soon as possible!
Everything was amazing!
Brilliant range of activities with lots of options every day from morning until night- make sure you get involved, there are usually prizes involved!. The village trip was fantastic! We loved how the proceeds from some activities went to supporting the nearby village where many of the staff live. Staff were very attentive and friendly, it felt like they took the time to get to know their guests. We were upgraded for free when we arrived and were given a welcome drink during check in. The room was spacious and clean and we loved how we had our own little burra and patio. The location is great, right on the beach with hammocks and deck chairs, and with a reef for snorkelling. The food was incredible, lots of variety and really tasty large portions. I can’t fault this place :)
Staff, Cultural demonstrations and field trips were outstanding.
Price of drinks - after paying for a all inclusive. Drinks wb nice if included in price.
We had an amazing time at Octopus resort, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The daily activities board was great and so great to try different activities and have such a variety offered. Food was very good and rooms were well air conditioned. Fully recommend!
Like - quality of food, waiting staff, beach hutsImprovements - same menu Tues-Thurs so dinner options became limited, mountain hike was unsafe - so slippery and guide was miles ahead of us
Fantastic location the beach was beautiful soft white sand fringed with palm trees. Free snorkel gear and access to a fantastic reef with plenty of beautiful coral and colourful fish straight from the beach. You have to sign up to a meal plan which although did not change much had plenty of good options and was high quality and fresh. The daily activities were good with shark point and island hopping snorkel trips a highlight.Allowed us to use our room for late check when catching 3pm ferry We visited other resorts and would definitely recommend octopus
