Grand Hotel Don Juan

Reception did the best they could with what there was.

The hotel is TERRIBLY run down. We entered the room - which was freezing cold on an early October day. wifi was non existent in the room or the lobby. When we asked at the desk - the clerk admitted it was terrible and fortunately provided us with a modem for the room. The hotel room phone was also broken, and not repaired or replaced through our stay even though it was mentioned on our first day. The walls are paper thin and filthy. This place is in desperate need of repair. There were few guests during our stay - this would have been a good time to close and make some much needed improvements. This place has seen its day. - avoid it.

Location was close to center and walk to Old Town was a good walk. Breakfast was very generous with a wide variety of food.Melissa at the front desk was very helpful and gave us information that we needed in regards how the place works plus where we needed to catch the Flix bus e.g. rules. She also arranged taxis for us.

Unfortunately, the site states free parking, swimming pool and beach side seats. But, once you book and pay for the accommodation, there is a statement that states that it is mandatory to pay a fee (Club ?) to be able to use these facilities even if you do not use them eg we did not have a car, one person did not use the pool!! Using the pool means an extra payments if you use a towel and it is mandatory to wear a skull cap which you also have to pay extra for!!There was no information available at the front desk or the room regarding this information.Considering the cost of the accommodation we felt that these extra costs were a little 'cash grabbing!'

Wifi dis not work at all, even at the lobbie or reception. I was working remotely so could not do anything.

At first glance, the garden seemed neat.

It looks like a decent accommodation in the pictures, which was the reason we booked the night in that hotel. We were greeted by all the pictures. Old furniture, and the most important thing for me is the bathroom rusty and dirty, which is at least 40 years old, judging by the faucet, by the way water is flushed into the toilet,.. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. Also, in a hotel that was absolutely empty, we got a room that doesn't look at the sea but at the surrounding buildings, why? Very bad, I absolutely don't have a reason to go there again. Maybe to another hotel, because the beach is really beautiful.

Nothing not to like

For the brealfast there were many veriaties from sweet to salty options, didnt try it for lunch or dinner though. The location was very good as well directly in front of the beach. However the cleaness level was less than average and the facilities are quite old. The kids club was so bad and i was upset that i had to pay for my two little kids although we never attend any event since it wasnt attractive at all! But in general we enjoyed our stay and we had nice memories from Giulianova.

The hotel itself is quite nice. As many other guests have noted, it needs a major update though.

Dinner didn't meet our expectations. We booked the hotel with free parking, however at the checkout there was a fee informed. We cleared the issue at the end though. The arrangements on the sand beach were confusing. I don't understand why there aren't sun-bathing benches for everyone, but only chairs. You have to pay more for the benches that you can lay down. There are also other processes that differ from general hotel processes, like you can't pay dinner in the restaurant. If you want to set the bill to the room, they don't ask for your signature.

the location and beach were great. the rooms were big. the breakfast was plentiful and good selection of proteins and cereals/pastries.

The rooms were very worn out and not clean when we moved in. cleaning improved during our stay. we booked 6 rooms for friends and family and all had varying degrees of working air-condition and showers.

The staff at reception were very polite and helpful. Great location, nice pool and right on the beach.

Generally the hotel is a bit dated which makes it seem a little overpriced. The WiFi didn’t really work in the room.

It was really a lovely stay! It was a good location close to the beach!

The WIFI is non existent- They should work on this if it is offered in the hotel.

If I should say something that they can improve for foreign guests, who are not accustomed to have wife’s in Italy is that sun beds and towels or not included! Even if it says, so, in the booking, sun beds means sun chairs otherwise have to pay an additional 16-22€

It was an old hotel but clean and the staff was amazing. We had adjoining rooms with a beautiful view of the Adriatic Sea. There was a beautiful beach area and we rented a thatched hut for the week. There were a lot of activities day s d night. Very pleasurable

Small elevators

Location right across road from the beach. Facilities were great and staff were wonderful. Car parking in the shade was fantastic.

Hand sanitisers were not filled. Bath towels were thin.

Great Location. Nice pool area and lovely staff.

The food was very average, we had breakfast which was very simple and lunch which was poor. The whole hotel felt a bit tired and really could do with a makeover.

Beach front. Breakfast had lots of variety. Good family hotel as provides lots of entertainment for kids.

This was listed as 4 stars hotel? Rooms needed updating.
