- Everything was amazing, the staff were so welcoming and Irene in particular was keeping us warm constantly restocking the most beautiful open fire, all waitresses were exceptional and so accommodating, beautiful stay.
- Location is truly beautiful beside Lough Swilly with open parkland surrounding the house. Food is sublime, freshly prepared to high standards. Amazing friendly staff who greet you as an old friend and remember when you previously visited which made for a special stay.
- Such a lovely place to stay! Quiet with old world charm and very friendly staff.
Cons -
- The room and bathroom were coldAnd remained cold overnight. The staff did nothing to remedy the situation. It was the worse place I have ever stayed at in Ireland. Very disappointing. The staff did nothing to listen and pass information between them about the sub standard room.
- The room was cold the bedroom was cold the bathroom was freezing. Reception did not seem to care. There inaction led us to leave as soon as we were able. How can they let out a stone cold room even trying to turning the radiators up one was cold the other tepid. I asked for two single duvets but they couldn’t accommodate my request until the following day. This was the worse place I have stayed in Ireland. It was very disappointing. It makes a mockery of Ireland’s Blue Book. The quality was shocking.
- The original room we were allocated was not the most pleasant experience.

Drawing room with lovely warm fires. Cozy atmosphere. Restorative. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the off-the-beaten trackness of the location.

Friendly staff who went above and beyond to make us welcome. The warmth of the different room., the beautiful Christmas trees in every room. It was an exceptional place to stay and I'm only sorry we only stayed the one night.
Just excellent from start to finish, being met at door on arrival and being shown to room was a lovely touch, the decor and artwork, the open fire and the fantastic staff and the food.
The evening meal a La carte was good.

I was surprised by this property. The impressions from the photographs were very different to the reality.

The upgrade to a superior room. The dining area. The staff were exceptionally good & attentive.
The original room we were allocated was not the most pleasant experience.
Charming manor house from the 1600’s restored and managed by a family- ask them about the history- it’s fascinating. Elegant dining service and menu.
The girl we met at the door and Karoline were lovely from the second we came in contact with them. Everyone we came in contact with during our stay was lovely. The food was 10/10, the room was fantastic, clean, big and very comfortable bed.
The only thing I didn't like was leaving
Exceptional property in a wonderful location. Meal was out of this world, all home grown produce, staff very polite, helpful and professional
The lady at reception was very nice about the situation
Run down, extremely dated bedroom and bathroom, leaking toilet, view of a number of piles of dog poop from window.
The joint owners were extremely welcoming, professional and helpful. The restaurant staff were also great. We had a glitch with our car, they couldn't help us enough. The bed was very comfortable. The food was fabulous, breakfast was generous. The drawing rooms and outside space are great for relaxing.
My hsband would say the room door sticking to the frame. No tea and coffee available or served in the room.
Exceptional
My husband would have liked a tv in the room I loved the fact that there wasn't one slept like a baby we will be back
Exceptional food and location. A family run business who go the extra mile to ensure their guests feel welcome and appreciated. The staff were all great.
