- The property is beautiful! The location is perfect. Right in the middle of everything but is still very peaceful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I would definitely stay again. The staff is so friendly and helpful. This place is a gem!
- Absolutely lovely property and incredibly friendly. I would recommend it without any hesitation ! The food too was totally brilliant ! The staff, always here to help, gave us very good addresses in the villages around. Just a totally lovely place to stay, in the most beautiful region of Tuscany
Cons -
- Mattress not comfortable
- One thing which is a bit of a challenge when traveling in Tuscany by electric car is to find a charging spot. There is a double one in the top of the village (but only one was working -when available !..). It would make the property perfect to have one charging spot for residents of the agritourismo.
- The low ceiling in part of the bathroom was awkward for my tall boyfriend and the mattress and pillows were vey hard and flat, so (being side sleepers), we slept poorly.

La Chiusa is a perfect home base to explore Tuscany. The property is stunning! Rooms are spacious, comfortable beds. Staff is wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the onsite restaurant, and the olive oil tasting. Great recommendations on things to do and see close by as well. Worth the trip for sure!
Staff was excellent; it was beautiful.
The low ceiling in part of the bathroom was awkward for my tall boyfriend and the mattress and pillows were vey hard and flat, so (being side sleepers), we slept poorly.
the staff was excellent, especially Laurene. Very good breakfast. Great views. Great a/c and heat.
Beautiful property with magnificent views and close proximity to Montepuluchiano. Very comfortabke beds, lots of places to sit around the property and enjoy a glass of wine served by the very attentive staff. The food was fantastic including the tasting menu which was delicious. Breakfast was beautifully presented and the staff were so helpful they even set up an outside breakfast for us at the last minute because the sun was shining.
The bathtub/shower situation was a little odd and certainly not appropriate for anyone with accessability issues.
The property is stunning and situated at the bottom of a small town that is easy to walk to. It's also very easy to drive to other neighboring towns and big cities from the hotel. I love so much about the property. Everything truly…The swing set, bees, view, pool, and restaurant on site are amazing and the best food in town. The breakfast that is offered is so delicious. The staff is so kind and accommodating. The mini fridge in the room was great, offering the crib was helpful, as well as ordering wine with snacks whenever we wanted. The owner is very kind and we will be recommending this place to everyone! I can't say enough good things about this stay. It was truly memorable in the best ways!
Our room was just a tiny bit too small for a couple with a toddler but the bathroom was a great size.
This is a special property with unmatched views of the village of Montelpulciano and Tempio San Biagio. The village of Montofollonico, where the hotel is located, is off the beaten path but close to all the attractions of southern Tuscany. The staff are fantastic.
La Chiusa did not disappoint again! We came during the holidays and the weather was cold - but the room was comfortably warm. The Christmas day lunch was excellent. Another great stay at our "home away from home"! Can't wait to return.
the location with the hotel perched high on a hill directly looking at montepulciano. wonderful views - the room itself and the pool. the lovely restaurant on-site a welcome bonus so we didn't have to go out in the evening and enjoy a few local wines! .our room was wonderfully furnished with great view of pool and montepulciano. the bed was super comfy (must have been king size) with gorgeous linen and slept like a queen. also the fabulous breakfast which we had on the terrace outside! loved the extra touch of a special bag with pool towels in it and the large bath room towels. we hired ebikes and that was a lol of fun cycling through the vineyards! Will be back and we hope to see you in Amsterdam!
nothing!!! for continuous improvement perhaps suggestion to include large water bottle as part of the room rate as it wasn't clear if you can drink local tap water instead of getting water via mini bar.
The location was stunning, offering amazing views, and the room was incredibly spacious with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was enormous—almost the size of a double bedroom. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the cleaning staff were really friendly and attentive.
The air conditioning was blowing air but it was not cold at all, with temperatures reaching a sweltering 38-40°C. We had issues sleeping as it was super hot. When we raised the issue, the staff assured us it was working fine in another room, claiming both rooms shared the same A/C unit. However, after speaking to our neighbours, we found they were having the same problem. It felt like the staff were more interested in sweeping the issue under the rug rather than actually resolving it.Some of the staff appeared frustrated by our queries, which left us feeling like they weren’t particularly bothered whether we enjoyed our stay or not.The pool itself was fine, but there was no one at the pool bar. Instead, we had to WhatsApp our orders, which took far too long. We would have much preferred to simply go up to the bar and buy a drink, rather than waiting 15 minutes for it to arrive.
Lovely room, room, staff and restaurant. Extremely friendly and welcoming!
Leaking shower
The view and organized farm setting, combined with the cleanliness and tranquility, made for a pleasant stay. Although we didn't participate, there was a good selection of activities available. The room was a good size and had effective air conditioning, which was especially appreciated during the 44-degree heat.
Before reading the rest: The restaurant served good food. But the chef's "modern" twist on traditional Tuscan recipes didn't suit our taste, especially given the price. The stay would have been perfect if the restaurant had offered more authentic, simpler dishes to truly experience Tuscany's wonderful cuisine.
Ideal location for local site visiting. Great views of the countryside. Lovely pool with views. Breakfast and dinner are fantastic with variety and fresh dishes.

Lovely setting and we were greeted with a warm welcome. The restaurant in particular is terrific - fabulous food, brilliant service and excellent wines. We had a lovely time here.
The location is excellent. It is very close to both Pienza and Montepulciano. The breakfast is very nice. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable.
I liked everything
Amazing location, spacious rooms, great pool. The restaurant is also a must. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to come back!
All! This place was beautiful. We loved the location, staff, amenities, additional services and the view from the pool to Montepulciano was breathtaking.
