About

Palazzo Brunaccini is an elegant building in Palermo’s historic center, 2297 feet from the city’s cathedral and the train station and a short walk from Ballarò local market. It offers modern suites and free WiFi throughout. Decorated with refined light-wood furniture, each suite has traditional wood-beamed ceilings and wood floors. They have works of art hanging on the walls, and some come with a furnished balcony or terrace. At Brunaccini an extensive buffet-style breakfast is served daily. The Ristorante Da Carlo a Palazzo Brunaccini restaurant offers local and street food dishes. In-room facilities also include air conditioning, a private bathroom with shower, and satellite TV. Some suites offer a romantic atmosphere thanks to a four-poster bed. Linen change and cleaning take place daily. The property is 328 feet from a bus station linking with other areas in Palermo. The famous Teatro Massimo can be reached on foot in around 15 minutes.

    Pros +

    • Staff & location
    • Centrally located. Close to the open market and walkable to sites, restaurants and shops.
    • The hotel was very quiet and our room was comfortable. Location is excellent. Great customer service from reception desk.

    Cons -

    • Noise level; matresses
    • Not the hotel per say, but rec not renting a car for driving around the city. The roads are very narrow and local drivers are very aggressive, including those on scooters & motorcycles. GPS (Waze, Google maps..) are pretty much worthless w/in City.

This place was fabulous. Great location within walking distance to all the sites, activities, and places to try Sicilian foods. As you enter the hotel, you are taken back by the marble floors and stairs, beautiful statues and art work. The room had a canopy bed and was spacious. I normally don't give reviews but this place was excellent for our stay in Palermo.

    Very central. Amazing staff

We booked a room with a king size bed but maybe king size in Italy is different to king size in Canada

The rooms are nice and clean. The hotel is charming and the staff is helpful aside from providing water!

We did not like that the hotel doesn't provide water in the rooms which is standard, they charged us for water. Also the breakfast is sub par

Location is 5min walk from historical center and from Mercato Ballaro (street food and flea market). Staff are trying their best to be accommodating and offer advice. The property has private parking which is essential in this area if coming by car (see below) and a lovely inner courtyard with their own restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is basic but sufficient. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned, junior suite is very spacious, while regular rooms are tiny but enough for 2 people. Weird that regular rooms have a coffee machine with pods, but the junior suite does not. This is a decent accommodation with a very convenient location to explore the city, but nowhere near the stars advertised.

First, BEWARE of the surroundings: the whole area is incredibly dirty and looks unsafe, buildings are in a deplorable condition, literally falling apart (like a warzone), with homeless people and garbage all around. But this is 5min walk from the historical center,so not sure you can find better options this close. Also, BEWARE if coming by car, the streets around are unbelievably narrow with no traffic rules and "no man's land" driving style of scooters and cars alike, the whole way to the accommodation can give you a heart attack or a massive adrenaline rush at best. Leaving the car in the public free parking in front of the hotel is only an option if you don't care about the car or its contents. Luckily, the accommodation offers private secured parking for 20 eur/day. They also advertise electrical charging, but via a regular electrical outlet (48h to full charge for a Tesla X). The staff try to be as accommodating as possible, but just as I was checking in, the receptionist was explaining to a guest they cannot give a refund because the guest does not feel safe to stay overnight in this area. Rooms have a damp smell due to the humidity, but for the 1 night we spent, it wasn't such an issue.

    Wonderful location and rehabbed room

Avoid old room in palazzo with dank smell

Looking for something small and comfortable near the centre of Palermo and this certainly fitted the bill. Tucked away from the main streets it’s not an easy find but don’t be put off by that we found the area to be quiet and safe. We had a great welcome on arrival and enjoyed a large and well-appointed room on the second floor. The only negative was that there is no direct lift to all the rooms on the second floor, so we had to use the stairs from the first floor. Location was good and easy to walk through to the Quattro Canti. Next door to the hotel is a magnificent small church that is well worth a visit.

Lovely rooms, quiet location, short walk (8 to 10 mins) from the busy part of the historic centre of Palermo.

Palazzo Brunaccini is a hidden gem in Palermo. The hotel is conveniently located in the historic center. It is clean and comfortable, with well-appointed rooms and a very good buffet breakfast included. Francesco at the front desk was especially patient and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile. All the staff were kind and courteous. A great stay—highly recommended.

    Nothing to dislike.

The central location was excellent! The decor was also interesting and front desk staff were friendly and very helpful!

Uncomfortable bed and bathroom functional but small and not what you’d expect for that price range.Descriptions of rooms were unclear / confusing - the room with a terrace that we had booked turned out to have the bathroom on another level and this wasn’t clear in the description. The breakfast offering seemed to get worse as the week went on and the coffee was appalling!

    10PawelPosted on: 2-27-2025

The hotel located close to main palermian attractions. Very confortable room.

The downtown where the hotel is located seems to be less secure at night.

Great place, great location, great people.

Heating and hot water. Only reason I didn't give it ten out of ten for comfort is because for the first three days the water in the shower was only warm and not wasn't hot. But on the last days it was nice and hot. The heater needs electricity and when you leave the room the electricity goes off, so when you come back it is always cold and takes a while to warm up. Not relevant for most of the year in Palermo.

Beautiful palazzo filled with art in the middle for the centro storico and minutes away from great markets and the Teatro Massimo.

    8DarjaPosted on: 4-23-2024

It is a very nicely renewed and decorated old little palace, with a little courtyard where braekfast is served. Situated about 5-6 minutes walk to the crossing of 2 main pedestrian streets of Palermo, Via Maqueda and Via Vittorio Emanuele. Although so centraly situated and with a big open market in the background, it was totaly peaceful at night. Reception staff was very kind and frendly, eager to help and explain about any question we might have had. Pleanty of space to put your things in the closet and shelfs.

There was no coffee machine in the room. The bar was not opened for coffee and drinks. Brakfast was rather lame. Hotel is in the pedestrian zone and quite difficult to reach by car.

This is an excellent boutique hotel with fine dining. Staff is a little nonchalant - had to find our room on our own and figure out tricky key. We could walk to everything from here.

    10HediaPosted on: 3-18-2024

Exceptionally friendly staff, always ready to advise and help. Very good and varied breakfast.

Access relatively difficult at rush hours, being in city center

    9AgonPosted on: 2-19-2024

Everything. We had issue with the tire and received help from the hotel to pump air.

Even though location is very central, neighborhood not the very best one. However we enjoyed.
