The location of the hotel is excellent next to the funicular, with great views. Certaldo Alto is small, so it close to several good restaurants and bars. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had two excellent meals, dinner on the restaurant terrace (with a great view) and lunch in the garden. Breakfast was good. My room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is a short distance from the railway station.

The host Arthur was outstanding, kind and helpful and very interesting with his love of jazz. The hotel was wonderfully modernised while retaining it’s ancient charm. The location was superb: a short walk from the station to the funicular, up to the old town, turn right and you’re there. The restaurant was the best in Cetaldo.

Tell people about the funicular before they drag luggage up that hill!!

The views were stunning!

The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress needs to be replaced. Couldn’t get a good night sleep laying on springs.

Beautiful building right next to the furnicular stop. Lovely courtyard area for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We had dinner & food & service were really good. Great view from terrace.

Only issue was arriving by car at night & our sat nav struggled to find the hotel which is in a restricted traffic zone. We just wanted to drop off our bags & then park in the car park nearby. Maybe some hints from the hotel for customers arriving by car would be helpful. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

Location fantastic at the top of certaldo in nice quiet part, spacious rooms and a good breakfast. Just a lovely spot to get away from the tourist crowds and relax

No lift to rooms upstairs

The hotel has a fantastic location as part of a walled village at the top of a hill. The views from our room and from the patio where we had dinner and breakfast had exceptional views. Dinner at the hotel was delicious and reasonably priced. Our room was large, quiet and thoroughly modern. Staff was friendly and the manager was helpful and informative.

Got to see this beautiful hilltop town in the evening and early morning before the other Tourists showed up. Staff were wonderful. Room was spotless.... And a great breakfast to start the day. Can't recommend this place highly enough

Excellent plentiful breakfast. Beautiful location. Simple comfortable rooms. Lovely restaurant with amazing terrace. Wonderfully helpful and friendly staff and lovely jazz playing in the background in the bar. I’d love to return some day.

Everything was great.

Amazing location in the heart of Certaldo alta, next to the funicular. Stunning bluilding, quod with amazing view, restaurant with delicious food and terrace view. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. Alfred was a lovely host. Very helpful to rearrange the dates of our stay due to travel problems we had, and shared tips on the town and countryside walk. We had an amazing and relaxing time!

Nothing for us. The rooms are on the first floor with no lift so might be a problem for some people.

The hotel is historic but the rooms and bathrooms are renovated to high standards of comfort and were very clean. The hotel has the best terrace location to watch the sunset, and is right next to the funicular.Staff were super friendly and kind

I had to be there during the low season so most of the restaurants and cafes in the village were closed unfortunately!

Breakfast was good.Location was lovely.Room was very nice.Bed comfortable.

Enjoyed the hotel and restaurant and convenient tram to go to lower Certaldo and train station.
