Hotel Piroscafo

I stayed solo in Mid October and it was perfect. Reception was extremely helpful. They were able to offer gluten free breakfast options, book a taxi, and provide lots of helpful information. I loved the aesthetics of this building and the location was facing the harbor. The food was wonderful and all of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent restaurants, the castle, ferry boat and market are all nearby. I wheeled a suitcase from the train station to the hotel. I would recommend a taxi or bus.

I feel regret to book this hotel.

I feel I had made a mistake to book this hotel! First of all the hotel address can not been located exactly through the google map. Secondly, the car parking is assigned in a public lot with 1 km away (although you can loading luggages in front). Thirdly, the room is very small and elevator is very small too.

Love the location, close to the ferry but off the main street, having clean, comfortable room, the 2nd floor terrace was a surprise.. enjoyed sitting out there in the late afternoon.., very good breakfast.

Great location in the centre of things, with bars and restaurants all around. 20min walk from the train station and 2 minute walk to the ferry port to head off to other destinations on the lake. The rooms here are small, but comfortable and well appointed - good cupboard space, bathroom and shower very good, hairdryer, mini fridge etc. Get a balcony room - well worth it. No bar in the hotel, but loads within a stone's throw. The breakfast is very good - excellent pastries. Coffees all made fresh. Very nice hotel team - Receptionist and breakfast service team are great. Offered to store bags after check-out etc. Very good place.

Minor, minor things, hardly worth mentioning - small room required a sliding door to the bathroom, right next to the bed, so had to close the cupboard door to get into the bathroom - steam and smells coming out right to the bedside.

Pretty good breakfast considering you're in Italy. Quiet, good place to be, shore walk few meters from hotel, friendly staff, nice views just from hotel.

Hotel does not have parking, you have to park your car something like 1km from hotel and it costs 13eur per day.There was no music playing during breakfast, only the sounds of spoons and plates could be heard

Location was wonderful, the waitressing staff in the morning at breakfast were great. Reception lady was lovely. All staff were Very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was good selection of fresh fruit , meats etc and pastries .

The fire alarm in the bedroom at night constantly flashes a bright white light in room every 10 seconds , it was in your eye line when lying down , disturbing sleep or ability to drift to sleep . Totally misplaced in room - needs rethinking certainly in Room 11 - aware it’s for safety but not in right place .

Lovely small room in a wonderful position overlooking the small harbour, in the centre of the Old Town, adjacent to the ferry wharf. Perfect.

The only criticism would be the size of the room, but that's what you get in a very old boutique building in thr Old Town.

The hotel is five-star experience. Cosy, welcoming, super clean and feels like home. The staff was so kind, always friendly and ready to help.We had amazing view from our room balcony. Highly recommended!

This small hotel is in a perfect and beautiful location in Desenzano del Garda. It’s a no frills hotel but staff are friendly and the room was immaculately clean.The terrace has a stunning view over Porto Vecchio, a little harbour of boats and pretty buildings and is about one minute’s walk to the lake. There are a multitude of nearby bars and restaurants. It is close to the ferry/ boat trips, and many points of interest in Desenzano del Garda.My daughter has coeliac disease and must eat gluten free food. The hotel had a good selection of gluten free breakfast foods including sealed packets such as croissants, cornflakes, muesli, bread, muffins, biscuits and breakfast biscuits. There were also fruits, gluten free yoghurts amongst other items.The selection of breakfast for non coeliacs was good for a small hotel.

I can’t think of anything really. I was not keen on the carpet pattern but that does not matter!

Nice location overlooking the port. nothing else.

Well..where to begin. the amount of money paid for one night stay was way too much for what we received in return. the hotel was extremely old with a very faulty elevator, the corridors were creepy and not maintained. flies everywhere. the room was very very small with no privacy in the balcony because the next door neighbor is practically sitting there beside u. In order to adjust the temperature in the room we had to call the reception we couldn’t do that from the room. the bed was very uncomfortable with a light sheet for a blanket. the tv was a size of a calculator, and you needed a portable stairs to go down to the shower. the breakfast was very basic, with very limited options, diluted juices and bad coffee. you have to ask for a special permit from the reception to temporary park your car in front of the hotel just to unpack your suitcases and the parking for the hotel was 3 fortnights walk from the hotel. only one coffee cup provided which was leaking.

Beautiful wee hotel, stunning location, fantastic views over the harbour, fantastic that you can jump on the ferry to Sirimone and have a day there, great for the train station to have a day in Milan or a day in Verona or a day in Bergamo, fantastic location. I would highly recommend this. Beautiful
