Hotel Aurora

Most memorable hotel for us. The location is the best and easiest for Desenzano, at waterfront along the promenade, right by restaurants and shops, etc. Parking nearby. Nice little breakfast. Better than average bathroom. Our room had a window with perfect sunrise view over the lake. One of the best decisions we've made in our travels over the years. We had the unfortunate need for the hospital and Antonio saved the day with his ambulance training and very kind assistance. Can not say enough how this impacted us, in a grateful way. After 14 trips to Italy this stay will be a heartfelt memory. Go there!

Not a thing..

Best breakfast I had in a hotel in Italy. Clean rooms, close to restaurants and in front of the lake.

The hotel was located right in the center of town over looking the lake with an outstanding breakfast. The room was very accomidating as well as the bathroom.

I loved the balcony overseaing the lake as well as the breakfast!

The location is perfect: across the street from the lake and just down the street from restaurants and shops. The staff was SO friendly and helpful, too. But the real 5 stars goes to the extensive breakfast prepared every morning: 4-5 cheeses, fruit, yogurt, (other stuff for meat-eaters), nuts, juices, tiny waffles, pancakes, and a table filled with cakes of lemon, and carrot, and chocolate, plus strudels and cream puffs....simply stunning! Plus your favorite coffee prepared when you arrive for breakfast by a sweetheart of a server.

The room was really tiny, and although it was okay, I just expected something a little bit larger. None of the balcony rooms were available, so next time I will make sure I get one of those, but at least I got a lake view. The television didn't allow movies and only a few channels were in English, but that's probably not why you're there anyway ;)

Such a beautiful location with lake views. Rooms were spacious and comfy. Aircon quiet. Staff very helpful and breakfast was amazing. Close to shops, restaurants and ferry. Recommend for staying in Desenzano

The location was perfect, right on the lake snd the staff was very nice snd helpful.

Lovely staff. Amazing breakfast. Very clean and comfortable hotel. And they let us use the luggage storage, which was great for us.

Maybe they could provide a kettle in the room.

It was a bit noisy late at night from loud music at a bar down the street. That’s okay, it was Friday night. Ended about 1:00 am.

Super perfect location, very clean rooms, very polite staff. The person in the afternoon/evening shift, did everything he could so that our minivan fits in the parking lot. Perfect location for city walk, superb evening in the city.

A bit outdated with regards to decoration, but after the super ice cream we had in our city walk, it did not matter any more! ?

Great location...a short walk to Desenzano town cente. Lovely to be situated right on the lake...we went for swims most days at the small, but well-kept Margy Beach (immediately opposite the hotel). Plenty of options for breakfast (fruit juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt, scrambled egg/bacon, toast, various pastries etc.) The breakfast set us up for the day ahead! Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned well each day.

There is bar next to the hotel, which sometimes plays music until early morning, but thankfully we couldn't hear any noise in our rooms at the rear of the hotel. Car parking spaces at the rear of the hotel are fairly tight, so we were happy to use the multi-storey carpark a short distance from the hotel. Some of the hallway carpets looked a little worn, but our rooms were clean.

The location was perfect, right on the beach, the staff were really lovely, excellent breakfast and place was spotless.

Room a bit smaller than expected. The shower leaked badly and posed a danger of slipping but couldn’t be fixed during our stay. While it was very warm the air conditioning was really poor and the room temperature uncomfortable.

Lake view

Unfortunately the air con didn’t work in 33 degree heat. We’re pretty sure the air con probably never has worked properly. We can’t fault the man on reception, he allowed us to move to their partner hotel but this was at 9pm at night which was nice and inconvenient! The lady who owns the place offered no compensation and didn’t seem to care about the situation.

Our room was near to a neighbouring bar which played loud music every evening with occasional rowdy customers later at night .

Thin walls and noise guests

Location, English-speaking front desk, and good breakfast!

We had a wonderful stay on Lake Garda. We took a bus from the train station which dropped us very close to the accommodation. Hotel was directly across the road from the lake and we had a beautiful view from our room. We had a wonderful breakfast in the mornings… plenty to choose from. It had a Roof top terrace which we stubble across.

The air conditioning was quite poor and we found little relief from the heat of the Italian summer in our room.

I loved the fact that the hotel was right on the lake! And from the bar you had the perfect window with a view. The staff were very friendly and made me feel at home.
