    Pros +

    • Hotel is in perfect location. You cave the cave at 5 minutes walk and the exhibitions also. And fascinating for me was the secret room this inside the hotel
    • The breakfast was delicious. I liked the bread and jam and eggs.
    • Great location right next to the cave, big parking lot, friendly stuff, good food and comfortable beds for a good night sleep. As we visited in a low season and the hotel was practically empty, we got a free room upgrade. The room was really warm and the restaurant had tasty food

    Cons -

    • The only thing average was the food
    • I didn't like the buffet dinner. It was very expensive and wasn't very good.
    • Would be nice to have a kettle in the room

The friendly staff at the Reception Desk, at the Bar and at the Restaurant. The cleanliness of the rooms. The parking outside. The premises on their whole.

    Clean, very nice

Had to park too far away from hotel. Couldn’t even drop off bags close.

The property was just a few yards from the cave entrance. The staff was helpful and organized.

Can’t think of anything that disappointed !

Cute interior decoration of the room. BUT You are paying to be by the cave. The description makes it sound like this hotel is “Special” and it is NOT.

STRIPPED down typical hotel room. Hard beds. HOT rooms. No basic room amenities for a 1 star place much less whatever they claim this hotel to be. No electric kettle for coffee or tea. No toiletries. Generic squeeze bottle wall mounted soap. Very specifically says “outlets close to bed”. They are not but they are at the desk or on the wall by the closet. Nothing in the “mini bar”. OK granted this is a stupid complaint BUT I’m pretty tall and I could BARELY reach the shower holder for the shower. By the time I took a shower, I was already annoyed by this room. Room was HOT and no way to turn down the heat which is pretty ironic that you have to put in the key card to get 2A of electricity to charge your iPad but room temp is sweltering hot so I guess the heat is free. Except no heat for the hair dryer, that also doesn’t work because its low watt. Maybe for men it does. Actual hair, it does not. Reading light also didn’t work. Breakfast was also pretty pathetic. It tried to be impressive with typical options that were stale and wow when was that coffee made? You have to go to the desk anytime you need to leave the parking lot and get a “exit” with your car ticket. A bit ridiculous and a WASTE of paper. I’m sure if you come rocking up in a tour bus, this place is great. My least favorite stay in Slovenia. I would have been more comfortable taking a cot to the top of the gift shop.

Staff were helpful. Nice hotel and upgraded great dinner

I didn’t have a view of the countryside.

Its location is great, the staff were attentive to our needs.

    Our room smelt like sewage.

Beautiful views from the balcony, good bedroom size, comfortable bed/linens, perfect location for visiting the caves, good breakfast, parking close to the hotel. Check-in/check-out very fast and easy and the receptionist very kind.

The elevator is small for the number of guests, and when the door opens on our floor, it is usually already full of guests from the lower floors, with their luggage, so we cannot enter. As I am currently with limited mobility, going down the stairs is not an option, so I had to wait a long time to go down.

Active area - lots going on. Retail and food shops just outside the hotel.

A clarification: this hotel catered to a lot of tour groups and convention attendees. Meals were all buffet but individual travels (not part of a group) were not seated in the buffet area - had to eat in a separate room away from the buffet food. Wait staff did not pay attention to those in the separate room (drinks, clearing dishes etc) It wasn’t a problem but definitely not a usual way to be treated. Also, head’s up if you travel with luggage and/or have any health issues (back, knees etc) there are many, many stairs and levels getting into the property from the parking lot. Elevators available inside the hotel.

Comfort, service, good conditions of the rooms

We ate dinner the first night. Delicious buffet. Breakfast was also very good. Location of the hotel was superb if you're going to the cave. Parking was good, just wish it was no charge. Room was very nice, hotel itself was beautiful. Nice renovation.

I wish parking was free and not $10 per night. The room was hot at night. It's supposed to have A/C but apparently it's set to a certain temp and would not go lower, which was not low enough when the days are hot.

Exceptionally clean, great breakfast and dinner selections. Very nice staff and super helpful. Very convenient to go to cave and vivarium. Shuttle bus within walking distance to Predjama Castle.

Our balcony view was looking at rooftops and then trees in the background. Didn’t realize there were two buildings we were in the 2nd building further back. Balcony views are better if you are in the main building. Not sure if this is even stated when booking your room.

Breakfast was fantastic. Multiple choices of alternative milks and foods for vegans. Rooms were very nice, especially the top floor with balcony. Staff were super helpful with requests. Cannot beat the location of doing the cave and other tours.

Some staff were very slow in checking in/out. However, they were very accommodating with splitting the bill among women.

Centrally located, a good home base for west side of Slovenia adventures. Easy in and out parking. Lovely breakfast. Absolutely incredible staff. So nice and accommodating.

Dinner’s only option is buffet, which is t great if you’re vegetarian or looking for something light.

Location, the view and the breakfast

    Slightly obsolete infrastructure

    9GaryPosted on: 8-15-2025

Every staff person was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

There were only minor quibbles. The water temperature in the shower fluctuated wildly. There was a little dog somewhere near my room; the dog was yapping for much of the first day, to the point that I did not want to use the balcony. I suspect that a guest had left a small dog on the balcony of their room and left, leaving the dog frustrated. Lastly, for the breakfast on the first of my two mornings, it was rather crowded in the breakfast area. I went much earlier the second morning, and there was not such a hustle and bustle.

Really beautiful property, very clean and comfortable contemporary rooms. Included breakfast was delicious. A must stay if you are planning to visit Postojna Cave!
