    Pros +

    • It's on a one way street, parking was easy on the street. The two places in front of the house were occupied. I needed to walk a minute or so from the car. It's an easy walk to the park, town and to the hiking trails, very nice location.
    • The villa has been renovated to a very high standard. All rooms have the same price despite the fact that they range from basic to almost luxurious in terms of amenities. My son and his wife had an apartment with a shower (room 54) and a very large balcony which would be great in the warmer months, my other son had the spa room (room 44) which included a large bathtub and a huge balcony area for sitting outside. We on the other hand had a room (room 49) over 2 levels with an extremely narrow and steep staircase up to the bedroom and bathroom under one part of the roof. The smell from the shower drain was extremely unpleasant so we kept the bathroom door closed. Not experienced that in a hotel before. A huge plus is the kitchen and area to sit in the cellar rooms if you want to store food or cook for yourself or a group. The kitchen is big enough for a group event and is well equipped.

    Cons -

    • I didn't read the email that I got from the Hotel that described the check-in process, so it was more difficult than it should have been for me. I expected something a but more normal... but the check-in process was a bit unusual. If I had read the mail, it would have been ok. The reception and the room (in Villa Waldfrieden) are in different villages. That means, the place you pick up the key (key card), requires you first to drive to the other hotel in the other little town to get the key card. Then back to the place you actually sleep at. For check-out, it is not problem, there is a box to drop your key as you are leaving, no need to go back to the other hotel's reception. I was too tired to ask about and figure out breakfast, but it seems to be in the same place you get the keycard (the other village), although there is some door labelled cafe in the same building as the room, but it was closed when I was there. I also ended up with with I think was the cheapest room -- I booked the the room, last minute. I was expecting at least a little view, but my window was right next to a walkway and stairs so I didn't really want to open the window or curtains. The old building lets noise through the walls too, so other people just walking through the building, opening doors and such was a bit loud at midnight, I should have used earplugs.
    • Smell coming from the drains in our bathroom under the roof. When booking, I did not see any information that breakfast in the hotel means a 15 - 20 minute walk from the villa. Luckily it was dry for the walk. The rooms have zero decoration (no pictures, plants, nothing). The quality of the beds does not reflect the quality of the house.
    • There was a strange smell at the entrance and the level - 1 where the common one is coffee place wasOtherwise, everything perfect

Much better than expected. Large room with en-suite and separate bath with wonderful views.

Would be nice to have a small fridge and coffee making facilities in the room.

It was a good size apartment.

We were expecting to be in the hotel from the pictures but we were actually in a villa approx 1 mile away , but still had to go the hotel to check in and return the key in the morning.
