Cons -
- Bed was unusually firm
- It's a nice hotel, don't get me wrong but it's not 4* material. For 3* and a price adjustment the grade would have been higher, but the fit and finish isn't there and you can tell that a lot of the signage shows 3* only. Don't see how they got the upgrade. Also the heating in my room didn't seem to work, but maybe the system was just a bit too complicated for me ?
- Small tv old stuff in the room No comfortable bed

Good location to ferry and train station, comfy and clean.
We were situated on the ground floor and so was noisy from the hotel kitchen. You should limit expectations for the breakfast included.
Large room, quiet but still very close to the harbour and just a short walk to the train station we arrived at after doing the Bernina Express. Good breakfast too! We rented bikes at the harbour and cycled to the very north of the lake in about 2 hours. Almost all on cycle paths or back roads so very safe. Lake Como is very comfortable for swimming in August.
It was on the first floor.
The room was small which I expected but I didn't expect the toilet and bath to be on another level--3 steps up!!! It may have been necessary in order to have both the bath and room together but I found it to be very annoying! I also found breakfast to have very little flavor. This is Italy, and food is usually good here! Breakfast fruit was a few pieces of honeydew one day, and watermelon the next 2 days. Watermelon is good and seasonal but the kitchen should have gotten something else from its distributor too!

room 213: WiFi very poorroom 211: aircondition olly blows room temperature air, no cooling
Good location, not far from the lake. The bed was comfy. The breakfast was good as well.
The room was quite dark.
Værelset var godt til familier. God udsigt.
The Young lady who was on shift when we arrived, was everything but service minded. She was busy talking to her friends and laughing. She did not welcome us, but instead looked at us and Said “yes?” We later ordered drinks from here, and again felt that we where an annoyance. The morning personel, was very welcoming, and made for a good stay.
Staff tried their best
Our experience at this establishment was disappointing, to say the least. The staff seemed untrained and disorganized, resulting in a 90-minute wait for an omelette and numerous guests not receiving their meals or drinks. To make matters worse, the owner has neglected to repair the air conditioning, leaving the rooms at an uncomfortable 28 degrees. While my colleague was given a fan, there was only one available, leaving me to endure the heat. One staff member, unable to tolerate the conditions, even left after attempting to stay in the room for the evening. It's clear that if the staff can't bear the discomfort, expecting paying guests to do so is unreasonable.
Breakfast was very got with lots of choices, the location of the hotel was perfect for my requirements
There could be better soaps & shower gels provided
Very good location, walking distance from the waterfront and Colico train station. Staff really helpful and even provided me with a paper guide of where to visit in Bellano, Menaggio and Bellagio.
Breakfast wasn't for me, eating pasta and pizza and lot of breads isn't my preference. But they do eggs and bacon and you can get yogurts, fruit and take some cake for your room later in the day.
Everything was perfect, had a very confortable and clean room. The breakfast was exceptional and the staff very helpful and friendly. It's located conveniently only 5 minutes away from the Colico train station. The interconnected restaurant has a very good choice for dinner and great food :)I truly recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was excellent and the staff very kind. The interaction with the staff gave a family feeling not common these days. it was very appreciated.
I booked a single room so a single bed is what I could expect; it was confortable but the bed size seems to be outdated. Very minor point, it is just a suggestion.
Nice clean room with coffe facilities and a balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A good breakfast with good choice of foods. Close to the station and the lake front with its cafes bars and beach. Easy to walk to the lake ships and cycle hire
All ok
reasonable price, location nice
mattress is a bit old and too soft
Rooms are big and clean.
Breakfast is very basic.
The breakfast was lovely, the room's features were nice and the space was clean, prime location
The best thing about Hotel Lago di Como is its location. It's walking distance from the train station. It's walking distance from the pier. It's walking distance from the lake. It's walking distance from the gelato shops and a small supermarket. And its off the beaten track, since Colico isnt much of a tourist hotspot, which means its not crawling with tourists yet its very easy to get to the touristy places like Menaggio and Bellagio via the ferry. The second best thing about the hotel is that it has ACs in the rooms. In the searing heat of Italy, that was a MUST. Third, the bathroom was reasonably modern and well equipped. The shower was great. Fourth, the breakfast though not fabulous at least had a good amount of variety so there was something for everyone. Fifth, we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel all 3 nights and while it was nothing to write home about it was decent. Finally, the staff were friendly, which meant a lot to us as this was our first time in Italy and we dont speak the language and we really stood out as foreigners.
The first thing I didnt like about Hotel Lago di Como is the extremely dated interior. The entire place needs a facelift. The decor, the furniture, everything looked tired and in need of retirement. Bidets should be replaced with wall-mounted pipes to open up the bathroom space, and there should be a coffee machine in the bedrooms. The second thing I didnt like about the Hotel was that the staff did not inform us that ordering food to our room incurred a hefty charge. We came back exhausted from a whole day of travel, and were too tired to go out and eat, so we called reception and asked them if we could order from their restaurant but eat in our room. At that point they should have been transparent and told us about the extra expense so we could have made an informed decision. But instead we got a shock when we were checking out. Just something to be aware of in the future.
