Pros +
- in center near the train station
- The room is spacious and well cleaned. The staff are friendly. Breakfast is delicious with a good variety of options (I love that they have Miso soup). The hotel is in a good location, very close to Grindelwald train station. The view from the room is absolutely stunning. Everything is perfect. Definitely coming back here for my next trip to Grindelwald.
- Spacious family room, and clean
Cons -
- restaurant reservations for staying people have no value sometimes can not find place it would be better to make a reservation for two or three tables for the staying people in the hotel
- False advertisement which made it very disappointing. The reason I booked this hotel which was a lot more expensive than others in the area is because they advertised air conditioner in the rooms. This was not the case. There was no A/C available.
- Breakfast was very good, but we would have liked a little more variety of fresh fruit slices, not just pineapple and water melon. But that is a very minor quibble; both hotel restaurants - set menu and a la carte - serve excellent dinners with great staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this excellent, long-established family-run hotel. The family themselves are visible and welcoming, and all the staff were extremely friendly and responded swiftly and helpfully to a couple of issues which we raised e.g. a fault with the ski storage system in the ski room which was fixed very quickly. The communications we had with the hotel before we arrived were also answered very promptly and helpfully. The location opposite the main station is ideal and gives easy and flexible access to the main ski area.

I can not in just a few brief words state just how wonderful our stay was at the hotel kreuz & post. From the moment we stepped of the train. Hotel was just feet away. From the first hello with the front desk staff. Such a wonderful, warm, welcomming , kind, just can not discribe in words how amazing the staff at this hotel are to there cuatomers. The gentelmen that checked us in. Got us booked for dinner reservations immediatly. Rooms and space were very comfortable. And then the resturant and head chef Simone! In all my years of travels i have never met a more welcoming. Service driven individuial like the hotels head chef.We had 3 nights of just amazing dinner services and prefection.driven by simone. Can not understate the amount of time this man invest in making sure all his cuatomers walk away happy and amazed by his work.Just absolutly bravo and my hats off to head chef simone! Thank u so much for you kindness and care in your craft.
There is nothing that we can say we didnt like.
Beautiful view from our balcony, the room was cozy and warm which made our stay comfortable with our 3 year old . I
The hotel is very well located, with close proximity to the bus station that takes you directly to the ski lifts, which was extremely convenient. The wellness area was larger and better than expected, even if the temperature in the relaxation area was slightly on the cool side. The room had excellent soundproofing: although we could hear a baby crying in the corridor, there was absolutely no noise once inside the room. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The breakfast buffet was good overall, even if the selection was somewhat limited at times.
Location good
Breakfast out of eggs at 9:30…. Nobody asked if you would like anything from kitchen except last day…that man was very nice….Horrendous construction drilling began at 7:30… each day!…..desk personnel on arrival a bit brusque…no warning of construction noise which continued most of the day…Parking a bit pricey for outdoor lot up a steep hill…Restaurant expensive for what they offer….but then again, this is Switzerland…everything at a high price point.
Excellent location near the train station and wonderful views. Lots of variety for breakfast. Quiet and comfortable . Very good shower
The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful with all our questions and requests. The breakfast was also very good and had all the staples you would come to expect from a swiss hotel. The convenience to the train and busses was great and the noise was not a problem at all even though it was so close. The view from the hotel room was also perfect, you can see the Eiger perfectly.
The hotel is a bit old and as such the pipes are old, thus our bathroom smelled a bit. This is pretty standard in Switzerland, but there is no air conditioning so it can get warm unless you open the windows to let in the wonderful breeze. Just be aware.
25m to Grindelwald RR station! Clean room. Friendly/helpful staff. Good food/service at onsite restaurant, but limited menu options. TV choices in multiple languages.
Flow/pressure of shower water low.
Close to the train station. Comfortable although the ceiling was a little low. Breakfast was the usual hotel fare but convenient before heading out for the day.
Loved everything! Steps from the train station but still quiet. In between and easy walk to both First gondola and Eiger Express for Jungfrau. Restaurant manager, Simone (male) really made us feel special. Loved breakfast so much!! Restaurant dinner was also very good. Our balcony was big with gorgeous mountain views. We didn't utilize the spa facilities but checked it out on last day and wished we had; super clean and lots of options!
Location and view from the balcony
No A/CCoffee maker was out of order and they couldn’t replace it during our stay
What didn't I like? This hotel was amazing! Convenient location, friendly/helpful staff, clean (and lovely smelling) rooms, great character in the hotel, great views!
There wasn't anything I didn't like
Location location location - this hotel ticks this box as it is literally a few steps from Grindelwald Station. I completely enjoyed the stay. Usually no iron in room, but hotel staff helped direct me to a room where I could use their iron. Staff all pleasant and helpful and I will definitely wish to return for a stay here.
Not expecting perfection and honestly, overall, really cannot and should not complain.
The hotel was exceptional from start to finish. Its central location made it easy to walk nearly anywhere, and it’s just steps from the train station. The staff were warm and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and the spa was the perfect way to unwind after a full day of exploring.
Location. Good breakfast and service.
Rooms a little run down but comfortable beds. A little noisy if facing the street and Eiger.
We stayed two nights at Hotel Kreuz & Post in Grindelwald and had a truly memorable experience. The location is unbeatable — directly in front of the train station, which made arrival and day trips incredibly easy. The Coop grocery store was just steps away, and the bus terminal being right outside added convenience, though it did make the area feel a bit livelier. We booked an Eiger view room, and the view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking — waking up to that iconic peak felt surreal. The room was clean and comfortable, and although the hotel has a slightly old-fashioned feel, the exceptional service more than made up for it.A true highlight of our stay was dining at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was outstanding — so much so that we ended up having dinner there both nights. Simone, our waiter, made both evenings unforgettable with his personal touches, warm hospitality, and fantastic sense of humor. He truly elevated the experience and made us feel so welcome. This hotel offers a great combination of location, comfort, and genuine Swiss hospitality. We would absolutely love to return.
Great location, friendly staff, nice rooms.
It was noisy with the windows open, but too hot otherwise.
