Hotel Steinbock Grindelwald

Great service from Jennifer at front desk. She was very friendly and provided excellent touring ideas to us.

the Hotel Steinbock is right on the main street. Directly across the street and up the street about 30 steps are bus stops. The hotel is above one of the best restaurants in town and in your room, you DO NOT hear restaurant noises or smell the food.

The breakfast is very nice with a wide selection. A lady that worked there, Jennifer, was so very kind and helpful. The Hotel is right on the main street, only steps away from 2 bus stops. The Alps punch up just across the street. The location is perfect.

Although I am not complaining, a small refrigerator in the room would have been nice and at least one English speaking channel on TV.

The location of this hotel is exceptional: it's directly next door to the Grindelwald-First cable car. Plus, you can walk to all the shops and restaurants in town. Our room was very large and in the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet. The hotel has parking, which is a big perk in this area: it's virtually impossible to find on-street parking. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The breakfast buffet was really nice.

I didn't realize this hotel doesn't have air-conditioning. We were overheating in our room at night, even with the window open. We also had a very odd room with 2 bathrooms: one of the sinks had water that smelled disgusting, like sulfur. Overall, the hotel seems a bit old and dingy: it's not a big deal, but it could use updating.

Location right next to Firstbahn. Restaurant was great . Included breakfast better than others.

Very Minor suggestion our room facing front had big windows with pretty but sheer curtains. I would prefer option to have light blocking drapes to close when needed.

Location, it is near the Grindelwald First. Bus stop was just in few steps away. Staff was able to accommodate our requests, ex. Electric fan, extra pillows

It would have been better if there is kettle in the room, need to ask for hot water in the restaurant downstairs. We were in the 3rd floor and no elevator from second floor to 3rd, so we need to carry heavy luggage’s going up

Convenient location right next to gondola going up First, central location in middle of town, great included breakfast, nice staff, especially the breakfast staffs. Rooms are dated but clean and roomy.

The staff was great. Jennifer was so pleasant every morning during breakfast and checking in was nice and easy. Location was great. Restaurant in the hotel was very delicious for dinner too

Room was super bare. No teapot of coffee. Had to ask for extra pillows - only came with two for 2 twin beds pushed together. Pillows were also very bad quality unfortunately.

no spa in the hotel. it can be substituted with the opposite 4star hotel with spa or with the public sport center (300m away) with 50% discount to spa and swimming pool presenting the Grindelwald guest card offered by the hotel

Nice clean rooms, great breakfast, free parking, great staff and restaurant. Grindelwald cable car is just steps away

The hotel was very clean and quaint on a quieter part of the main street (Dorfstrasse), but still very close to the Bahnhof (6-8 minute walk). The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Nothing, other than the typical European pillows, but that is to be expected.

Staff were very friendly, Breakfast was very good and nespresso coffee was great We had a lot of fun and great food out on the bustling terrace on the Main Street. Very close to the First cable car which made it easy to get up to Bachalp The room was very suitable and clean

The room was small, the bathroom was so small that one has to first open the door, then somehow maneuver around it,then close it. No amenities except for soap. The location is not particularly good. For the very high price we paid, we expected a nice room.

The staff was exceptional as they bent over backwards to be accommodating especially at breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious.

The hotel is right next to the Bus station and First cable station. It is above a pizza restaurant, quite busy in the evening, so expect some kitchen smells on the corridors. However, we had no smells in the room.It is really close to a wide range of restaurants, we even found bars with great views on the surrounding mountains.Room was bigger than expected, clean, and pleasant.

We were afraid we needed a heater in the first evening, since the air got quite chilly. It was mid-June. But we couldn't find one in the room. However, it was only a feeling it was cold, eventually we didn't need heat in the room. But it would have been nice to have some heat source at hand in case it was really needed.Breakfast is ok, but please get rid of the coffee machine with pads. A regular coffee machine is way better, and doesn't create so much waste.Parking is free for guests, next to the hotel, but be careful; we had some marks on our car from someone who didn't fit on the narrow road :( (we were parked 100% correctly between lines, and it was a small car).

Very clean and comfortable hotel right next to the Grindenwald First gondola. Great homebase to visit three or four other mountain cities from. Short walk to grocery stores. Enjoyable local dining. The beds were extremely comfortable with wonderful pillows. The showers were large and had good water pressure.The breakfast was well above standard. Exceptional cappuccino and croissants. The staff was very engaging and professional. Parking was free. We would definitely stay here again and happily recommend it to others.
