Hotel Bad Murtensee

Staff, food and room were great. Excellent place to stay if you have a vehicle.

Train station and altstadt a decent walk away if you are not in shape.

Good breakfast selection. Good evening meal menu albeit rather on the pricey side compared to local restaurants. Excellent location with easy walk along the lakeside to the town centre. Bedroom and bathroom very good size.

No real dislikes at all. The electric sockets located just a very few inches from the floor level could prove a challenge for some. Also the rooms in the first floor new extension have to be accessed via a staircase as there is no lift, not the easiest to navigate with heavy suitcases!

The location is wonderful directly at the Murten lake. You can walk along the lake and also have a swim in the lake in summer. You can walk into town. Management and staff are really friendly and make you feel like home in a family.

The location is directly at the lake, but also directly by the street, which is a bit noisy. There were two houses under construction at the time, we where there. In the early morning, the construction workers arrive and make noise. The restaurant in the hotel has some awards, but the cooking seemed a bit old-fashioned to me.

The place near the lake is beautiful and quiet. There are many possibilities for walking or enjoying the lake. The decorations and possibilities to have food or drinks outside makes it a nice experience.

There was no fridge in the room (if you like that sort of thing).

The lake view, decor and the breakfast served were excellent.

There was no shampoo, bottles of water and there was no coffee machine in the room.

Location is by the lake, really beautiful! Unfortunately during the winter its not the most fun place to be, so should come back in summer :)Staff is very attentive and friendly, thanks so much!

The room was rather cold and the sound travels between the rooms.

Murten is amazing. The area is one of our favorite areas in all of Switzerland. The rooms were reasonable in size.

We paid for a lake view room but there was no lake view from the room. To see a sliver of the lake you had to go on the balcony to the corner edge. So I don’t feel like we got what we paid for. The hotel was far from the train station, a 20 minute walk uphill. Breakfast was nothing special.

Great location, rooms were clean and in good order. Would have liked to have a good reading light. The possibility to use paddles that are readily available was very useful.

We found the restaurant dinner menu fairly uninteresting, with too few options. Breakfast was great value instead.

Fabulous setting, spacious room with large balcony, good food, great choice of cocktails and mocktails, friendly and efficient staff.

The convoluted route to the rooms involving outside steps and stairs - impractical with baggage. And I can’t imagine having to hurry during a downpour or in winter :(
