Hotel Schiffahrt

The view from the room over the lake and mountains was beautiful. The train line runs directly in front of the hotel alongside of the lake, but we could hear very little with the windows closed. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good.

No refrigerator or coffee in the room. No fan in the room for hot days.

Simple clean rooms and a decent breakfast buffet. Located next to the lake where you can go swimming. Bus stops next door, if you don't have a car.

Clean modern rooms with good internet and breakfast buffet. Beautiful location across from the Walensee. Perfect for public transportation as the bus stops next to the hotel. Half hourly connections to the train. Swim in the lake is possible! Tasty food in the restaurant.

You get what you pay for, and the hotel's offerings reflect the price. That being said, the hotel is spotless! My well-sized en-suite room overlooked the beautiful Walensee, and I even had access to a spacious garden—perhaps they gave me this room because of my dog?The hotel restaurant was excellent—nice atmosphere, efficient service, well-sized tables, a great view of the lake, and a fantastic selection of Swiss food.Schifffahrt Hotel may not be one of the glamorous hotels you’d find in Dubai, New York, Berlin, Madrid, London, or Vitznau, but at a third of the cost, it ticks all the boxes!Perfect for a short stay!

Warm welcome, excellent location for our trip and the food was traditional but of excellent quality!!

It is near a train line so you can expect some noise if your windows are open.

Great breakfast with baked goods and charcuterie. Very conveniently located on top of a nice restaurant, and next to a bus stop.

Absolutely stunning location and views from our room. The most credit is due to the staff, ever so helpful and pleasant. The door was amazing as well so couldn’t find a negative to say about our stay.

Room very small despite being the “suite”. You can see is an old establishment. They don’t offer anything special. They’re in front of the lake and that’s the only good thing. It they have the train passing all the time. Annoying for the view and the noise

I would have given a higher score for staff but the male member in the restaurant was rather rude and ignored us. The rest of the staff were very efficient and pleasant.

Clean and comfortable room. Secure room to store our bikes inside. Staff were friendly and convenient restaurant attached for evening meals.

Breakfast was good and plenty of choice. Dinner was excellent and the choice was very good.The Location was fine for us as we were travelling on our way home

The closeness of the railway lines and main road were an issue but the double glazing helped. Ask for a room at the back if you are sensitive to noise and want your window open at night.

The hotel is easy to reach by public transport, the room was big enough for a family of 3, clean, they also added one more single bed as we requested,although we did not need it as we could all sleep on the big bed. The food at the restaurant was perfect and the buffet for breakfast had everything you expect to find on a breakfast.

The room did not feel warm and since the heating is central you cannot adjust the temperature manually. We asked to increase it, they said they did but Indi not feel big difference. To clarify, it was not cold but it was not the type of welcoming-warm. For one night it was fine for us.

The room was a large beautiful room and I really enjoyed it.

The staff would open the door without letting me know and it was really annoying they did it twice and it was unacceptable.

Breakfast buffet was great with lots of choice. The location near Untertertzen was perfect for our ski trip.

It would nice to have a little more friendly contact with the staff. The waiters at the meal times were not quite as friendly as the kind and helpful receptionist lady.
