Pros +
- The hotel is completely charming, with a comfortable sitting and dining area. The rooms are clean and well equipped. And dinner was the best meal I had during my two weeks in France. But the icing on the cake was the gracious, friendly staff who bent over backwards to meet our every request (even when I mistakenly asked for dinner at the ungodly hour of 6:00 pm instead of 8:00 pm).
- The property was peaceful and we appreciated the onsite parking. It was an easy walk to town.
- Exceptional service, secure bike storage, excellent dinner, located approximately 1km from cave

- There wasn’t anything I disliked.
- Shower, took forever for hot water to come through
- We would have liked to stay on, but the hotel was fully booked...Our poor planning

An exceptional host, excellent location close to the cave Lascaux lV. Great dinner and good continental breakfast. Kids were impressed with the selection of kids TV channels.
It was a great location, right in town and close to shops, restaurants, laundry. Great off street parking. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean.
The hotel was perfectly located to explore the region and Madam made it very welcoming and comfortable and couldn’t be more accommodating and kind as a host. The hotel rooms were perfect size for a three day stay, quiet and comfortable, daily service. Breakfast each morning was simple continental buffet with lots of choices and home made cake and fresh crepes (eggs too if you wanted). An excellent small hotel with real home stay feeling to it.
Wonderful owner of hotel went out of her way to help us with our bikes and let us wait out the rain in comfort. Great value hotel about 3 minute walk from left bank restaurant area
Great staff, delicious dinner and good breakfast. Room was very spacious and there were lots of places to put stuff in the bathroom.. Very centrally located and walking distance to Lascaux caves
Shower, took forever for hot water to come through
Our host was a wonderfully warm, kind and generous lady who couldn’t do enough for us. We had a delicious dinner, all fais maison with an excellent choice of wine. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Good private parking, 5 minutes walk from Montignac and very close to Lascaux. Would stay again.
The owners', Lydie and Christine, piqued friendliness and openness. We didn't have many meals at the hotel, but the one we had was superb: aiguillettes de canard with a semi-sweet white wine from the area. Both highly recommended. As are the soft-boiled eggs. Excellent location to explore the region to boot, not just the les caves de Lascaux, btw. Reasonably priced.
We would have liked to stay on, but the hotel was fully booked...Our poor planning
Very nice welcome from the owner, the room was clean and cute and a good size for our small family of 4. Montignac in itself was a lovely surprise, it’s a great place to stay.
Excellent and helpful staff. Spacious air conditioned room. Quiet location. Good dinner at a reasonable price
One or two tv channels could have been in English
Lovely property on the edge of the village clean & modern with a shabby chic touch!! Can’t be more helpful / even gave us a lift to our wedding drinks party when we couldn’t get a taxi
Very comfortable hotel with a large garden and private parking. The owner Lydie was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, with freshly cooked crêpes.
very comfortable, staff were marvellous, restaurant on site and great location
Convenient, comfortable, parking, warm welcome, relaxed, good dining and breakfast, slept well. Lascaux IV is just down the road so well placed.
It rained! But nothing not to like.
Lady at the reception was very nice and helpful.Good breakfast and the room was nice
The only thing of the room was that the door of the bathroom could be closed.
Location super for Lascaux. Room good size updated. Bathroom with multi spray shower. Towels good, tea and coffee in room. Breakfast good, evening food menu good and genial host. Free parking and reasonably close to town.
Wifi
Amazing hostess, who spoke enough English for us to get by with our pitiful French. A great place to visit the Lascaux caves. Nice French continental breakfast and a cordon bleau dinner. The chef must be really top notch to produce food like that. A small family friendly hotel- as good as it gets.
This is a traditional, independent proprietor hotel that was managed by a terrific owner who was very helpful in getting us settled and working to meet her guests needs. The location was very centrally located to exploring the caves in Lascaux and the Dordogne. They had nice restaurant on the ground floor. Guests who are older should be aware there is no elevator, so you'll need to go up a flight of stairs to get to room; bath tubs are traditional older style with handheld faucet and you have to step into a deep tub with no bars to help you get in safely.
I'm always curious why European hotels and homes don't have screens, as the mosquitos were out and come into rooms.
