About
This traditional 19th-century Andalusian building is located in Cádiz’s Old Town, just a two-minute walk from Plaza de España and the port. We offer access through entry codes and a self-service check-in system, with 24-hour customer support available via email and WhatsApp. Arranged around a central courtyard, the rooms at Hostal San Francisco feature tiled floors, air conditioning, heating, a fridge and a safe. All rooms include a private bathroom with a hairdryer. We are committed to protecting the environment and reducing our environmental impact. Our electricity and hot-water systems are supported by photovoltaic solar panels and solar thermal technology, allowing us to make responsible use of Cádiz’s abundant sunshine. A wide variety of restaurants and bars can be found within a five-minute walk. Cádiz Cathedral and the charming seafront promenade are an eight-minute walk from the guest house, while the train station, with connections to the airport, is 13 minutes away on foot.

Cons -
- It's not clear from the description, but this place has no front desk. This is especially annoying because it means you have to share personal identifying information with a third party. It also means I spent 7 hours without wifi because the password is nowhere to be found and nobody responded to my query. Keep in mind you must have internet on your phone or you won't even be able to check in!The rooms are very awkward. I've stayed in plenty of capsule hotels and much smaller rooms in the past, but this room had very poor ergonomics in addition to being small. The mattress literally slid off the bed from underneath me when I rolled to one side because it was covered in some weird slippery plastic. The sheets kept coming undone. The bedside table is too far away to reach, which compounds the problem of the mattress slipping off the bed. You can barely walk past the bed to the bathroom without smashing into the TV. Most of this could be fixed by moving the bed against the wall and using a thinner, harder mattress, but inexplicably the room is set up in the most inconvenient fashion possible. Extremely uncomfortable and frustrating.
- NEVER saw a staff. Didn’t get restocked during room tidying process. No staff available to get supplies tea, sugar…. Bed not comfortable. I don’t usually have trouble adjusting to beds, I think a new mattress is in order. Sags, on old spring system. Maybe needs new springs. I don’t know.
- I stayed for 3 nights but only got shampoo for one day. They left me with two tea bags and one of them is already opened. Walls are too thin you can hear every conversation and moaning

good location
This is one of those places run automatically where you never meet another human being and get a code to open doors. I'm not fond of this way of doing business. i want to be able to ask for food recommendations etc. its lonely basically,
The location and the assistance over the phone. First time in such place like this.
To continually press the elevator bottom to go up or down.?
The room was really clean and cozy. I particularly liked the bathroom, which was always clean, with hot water and proper hygiene items (bath gel, towels, and shampoo). The location of the hotel is outstanding: right in the middle of the old town, which is pretty much where most of the touristic spots are. It's walking distance from the bus/train station, the cathedral, the hop-on/hop-off bus, etc.. I would definitely recommend to everyone visiting Cádiz!
Nothing. Everything was great
Room was very large
The noise went on all night. Need to consider double glazing
Great Location, in a traditional building. Easy access and clean room. Close to main attractions. Room had a decent size.
Room a bit claustrophobic, the only small window had inner view so there was no air. Also a bit dark. I didn’t like that the towels had anti theft tags.

Have you got all day? Overly heavy security ( too many codes and rules) and no guarantee of any better stay as a result. I would be happy to adhere to the extremely complicated check in and so forth if it had ensured a comfortable stay but it did not, despite my strict adherence to everything required of me.. Deafening noise from generator the first night, ( I had my own ear plugs which did nothing to help) other obnoxious guests' noise, loud snoring, ignorant stomping around above head. I came for a holiday, a break from grinding noise. Instead I got this. Awful. If you want a hell of a night, stay here. I had two here and I'm completely exhausted. ?
Spacious and clean, great location
WiFi basically didn't work
The location right in the center next to everything and the young man who run 3 floors on my last this is what call customer service
The shower
Perfect location to discover Cadiz. The room was quite clean.
Very noisy. I could hear everything from my room. After checking out, I had to pay to leave my backpack for a few hours.
Location right in city center.
Room in a dead end was a bit stuffy.
Located in / close to downtonw Cadiz. Room equipped with all necessary amenities,
Room was a bit noise-sensitive
Perfect place to spend the night. No frills, basic bed and bathroom and shower. Had full toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc). Great staff, great location. I booked last minute since I missed my train back to Sevilla so worked out perfectly.
Nothing. It's a basic room.
Place is good. Very close to get to the bed after long day, or late dinner in the city center
Could be quite loud if you sleep with the open window.
The room with a street balcony was good.
Our first room was claustrophobic. No outside window.
Awesome location. Great money value. Really comfortable bed.
location in the city center but everything in the city is walkable tho
there was just construction work near my room but if you’re enjoying Costa de la Luz much it didn’t make that much of a hassle
- great location - clean and comfortable room- helpful staff - refrigerator
