About
A charming hotel that is ideally located in the heart of the historic old town of Cadiz, which enraptures the traveler with its warm mix of Andalucian, colonial and classical styles. Bedrooms are uniquely characteristic, assuming one of the various styles (Andaluz, rustic or colonial) featured in the hotel, and each is christened with a name of one of the distinct cultures that have settled in the city. The interior decoration has been carefully detailed with Moroccan-style hand-carved arches, water deposits converted into tables and stacked mosaic structures. All this is provided, without compromising on modern commodities such as wireless internet zones and plasma TV. The hotel specializes in serving Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine. Other facilities available include a communal terrace located on the 4th floor. Owing to its privileged location, all of the important historic and artistic monuments of the city are easily accessible. It is also well served by public transport, making it easy to reach the popular beach resort of La Caleta and the dock from which tours of the bay are offered on a catamaran.

Pros +
- Hotel Argantonio is located on the edge of the historic part of Cadiz, so getting to museums and restaurants was super easy (and the parking was also very convenient). The hotel itself has a lot of charm and character. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
- Stunning room, very spacious and beautiful, very comfortable. Tray with personalized note and champagne and chocolates and fruit when we arrived. Beautiful breakfast room, all close to attractions. Loved it.
- Decor was very nice. Rooms were comfortable. Staff friendly. Breakfast was a bargain.
Cons -
- Only complaint: noisy neighbours (?) first night, literally partied from Friday afternoon until 8:30am Saturday. Thought it was a bar but no bar to be found the next day. Likely a very rare situation. Hotel itself superlative.
- We couldn’t get the TV hooked up to the internet to watch Netflix and the hotel staff could not help. But this was a very minor inconvenience.
- Nothing, I’d go back in a split second!

Friendly and helpful staff, location is great, but you’re only paying for the location. The walls are paper thin and you can hear the bodily functions of every person and couple in every direction. Also after 2 nights, also realized there was a large stain on the comforter of the blanket I’d been using thanks not mine, beyond certainty.I booked through booking.com. I made an error and thought I had booked for 2 nights for 100€, so I was quite content at that time. Turns out I made a mistake and that was just for 1 night. The hotel was nice enough and proactive and messaged me on WhatsApp to see if I was staying another night, to which yes I had been planning to. But that second night wasn't at the same rate, it was €150 for the second night. This kinda sent me over on my thoughts on the place overall. Staff were very friendly and helpful, but I did not feel as though it was worth the price overall.
I chose this hotel for location and design and it didn’t disappoint. The customer service was exceptional. The breakfast buffet with free cafe de leche refill was great.
Everything! The elegance, the beauty and history of the building, the delicious breakfast, the warm staff. The location was ideal for walking exploration, and underground parking wasn’t far.
Nothing, I’d go back in a split second!
Perfect place good design, good location
Some kitchen appliances can be appreciated, like cattle. Parking place was booked but it can be provided to every client maybe
Location staff friendliness and well appointed rooms
Staff was fabulous. Beautiful structure and great service. Good location and we used their recommendation for a great lunch.
The hotel is beautiful with comfortable rooms and a lovely breakfast. The staff were very friendly.
Lovely and helpful reception staff. Beautiful hotel with historic charm in a great location.
A fabulous find… highly recommended, we definitely want to return. The staff were all delightful and so accommodating. The hotel interior offered such a wonderful ambiance: it was stylish, calm, with beautiful interior decor. Loved the delicious continental breakfasts, excellent value. Parking was so convenient. An extremely comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Don’t forget to enjoy a little tipple on the roof-top terrace. The location was perfect for exploring the delightful old town of Cadiz.
Nothing. Everything was so lovely.
Location was great.
We booked this place 9 months in advance and gad asked for a double or queen bed. We were told we will have a double or queen bed if it is available when we arrive. Our room had two twin beds apart from each other and we were told a double bed is available but we have to pay $100 extra. Basically we were told to upgrade which was not something we were told when we booked the room 9 months ago. We also had a big problem with the bathroom door. When we were inside we could not open it to get out of the bathroom. Someone had to open it with force from outside. The shower had a French door which could not be completely closed so water would leak outside. On top of all, our room description said our room had a view but our window was facing a white wall of the opposite building. The wall was not even clean and the paint was falling apart. So every time we had to look at this wall from our window.
A historic building in Old Town convenient to restaurants and sites
The room was very pretty with all the tile work. The staff was exceptionally friendly and we're always there when we needed something. Location was great, right in the heart of the historic city center, with great restaurants, the beach, and landmarks all very walkable. The hotel also had a rooftop lounge/ garden perfect for great views of the city, and curling up and unwinding with a book and a glass of wine. It was our favorite spot in the hotel. Overall we loved our stay it was a very homey and laid back vibe, wish we could've stayed longer.
Only thing that wasn't great was the elevator is very small so took us a few trips to get all the bags to the room.
Such a gorgeously designed hotel with so much history - including a 3000 year old Phoenician well. Having bikes available to rent was a great plus.
Not having any egg options at breakfast was a bit of a bummer. I don’t eat meat - the breakfast was sliced meat, cheese, bread, fruit and fresh juice - so even a boiled egg would have been good.
Amazing decor, great location, and the friendliest staff!
Location, rooms and staff.
Fabulous hotel. Very eclectic, like being in Marrakesh. Small and intimate right in the heart of the old town of Cadiz
The building has undergone a high quality fit out, it was just a nice place to be. It has a lift so it will suit most people and is well located in the historic centre for access to the historic sites.
