Pros +
- View , kindness, service , location, quietness
- Our stay at this place was OK. Nice staff.
- Very well situated hotel, with a direct view on the foreshore and the entrance to the port. Efficient and friendly reception staff. Nice looking breakfast, although we didn’t eat.
Cons -
- Need a little refresh
- Although I booked my room months ahead of our arrival, I ended up in a room upstairs in (sort of) a corner. Very very small room and bathroom. I may have been unlucky as this hotel seems pretty neat from the outside. The front section looks way better than the back (where we were) section.
- The tap in the shower room, which had made a dent in the plasterboard wall. Some road noise at the front, but we had the French door open; we were tired so it didn’t really bother us.

Location. Warm welcome and helpful staff who take pride in their hotel. View.
Our room, and particularly the bathroom was very small, but we knew that before we came.
hotel well positioned for purpose of our visiting family. We had a lovely sea view (we had booked a garden room)The room was comfortable, good shower with plenty of towels.
Parking was a problem as no official hotel car park.We had to get a parking disc .we thought we had booked breakfast in our booking but we were charged for it on the 2 days there.
Welcome was very good.
No parking despite stated but there was a spot on the street outside. Room had a cigarette smell. Room was ok but nothing exceptional. Had American Express signs but said they did take American Express.
Excellent location overlooking the river/sea. Breakfast room was comfortable and breakfast was good. If you decide to stay, ask for a room at the front.
The room we were given was small and cramped. The bathroom wasn’t brilliant and a larger person would probably struggle in the shower (a 30” circle surrounded by shower curtain.) Shortage of plugs so charging all our bits and pieces had to be done in relay.
Room with a view on the sea. Very quiet and very comfortable.
Friendly staff , Good breakfast and location
No heating in room.
Great location right on the sea frontStaff very friendly and helpful Good breakfast
Rooms were a little tired & in need of a little TLC
We had a room with a balcony and sea view which was lovely. Very comfortable bed
On street parking which could be difficult in high season and disc needed
The view, friendly staff, clean, comfortable room close to all amenities - perfect
Location is good. Staff was nice
Not good value for money. Trace from previous leak on the ceiling not fixed, unable to fully use the tap in the bathroom as it was blocked by the wall. Shower screen wobbly. Small bathroom. Air cond working but not working actually. We felt there is no investment to improve the rooms. We stayed in better 2 stars hotel.
location
parking was difficult and the room cramped for a three star hotel
Good location, we had a sea view room and terrace balcony with sun beds and chairs.
No where to relax in the evening. Bar closed at 7pm
We had a suite on the ocean side which was amazing (worth the extra cost) the view was spectacular, we sat on the deck and heard a horse drawn garbage truck go by! It was a much larger room than usual European standards so lots of space a privacy. Breakfast was great and just what you would expect when in France.
We were trying to get a taxi to the airport and the taxi service only speaks French, we do not. The hotel reception provided zero assistance - usually even when in a foreign country that's something hotels are happy to help with.
My wife and I were travelling in the Loire Valley, and, as part of the holiday, we visited St. Gilles Croix de Vie by chance, as the other coastal towns looked like Blackpool on a bad day!We booked 3 nights at the Sea View, and we were so pleased we did. From there charming receptionist (Sarah) to the great room with a sea view, we had a restful 3 days. The location ticked all the holiday boxes for us, and we will go back as soon as we can.
Having to leave.
Friendly owners, well situated, good breakfast. Within easy walking distance of centre
Everything inside and out was lovely. Only French TV, but to be expected. Lovely rooms & terrace. Staff attentive and friendly.
The weather!!No restaurant, but Google Earth still shows it as having one (not the hotel's fault!) Lack of parking could be an issue. Breakfast expensive.
