We couldn't be guaranteed a twin room in the house, although we could book one on booking.com. We ended up paying more, although the room was lovely. The pillows were dreadful, I asked for extra and they were basically dead!

We had a lovely woodland room which was very large and the bathroom was amazing . The bed was comfortable and the views from the room are across the fields and it was very peaceful. The staff are friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu on our first evening. The location is close to the village of Bagnoles de L'Lorne which is well worth a visit.

We would have liked more comfortable chairs on the balcony or even loungers as there is plenty of room. It is a lovely place to relax and it was warm and sunny during our stay so it would have been nice to spend some time on the balcony. Otherwise everything was lovely.

We had one of the wooden lodges and loved it! Our experience at this property was good - quiet and relaxing with a pretty hotel garden and pleasant, smiling and helpful staff.

We arrived on a Monday and we knew the restaurant would be closed in advance so this wasn’t a surprise. The bar was also closed. It would be good if perhaps a simple cheese platter and glass of wine was available for weary travellers who do not want to venture into Bagnoles after their long journey.

We had a very nice room in a timber lodge with parking space underneath. The main building is very nice and the restaurant large with space between the tables.

The hotel is in the heart of a forest which makes it restful and gorgeous. The staff gave us the warmest welcome I ever received in France. The food was perfect : great gastronomical experience at night and the best breakfast in 4 stars hotel in a long time.

Delicious food. And great location

Restaurant closed Monday. No restaurants open in bagnol! In the end we found a shop selling pastries. Came back to the hotel. The charming young waiter and the receptionist took pity on us and gave us a plate of cheese which was very kind and thoughtful.

Location was fantastic - surrounded by the forest yet near to Bagnoles. Restaurant really good - chef was inspired.

It’s a special place, quiet, edge of the forest, with extremely nice staff, comfortable rooms and excellent restaurant.

Everything was perfect.

The food was fabulous and the service in the restaurant was very good. Loved the pool which was welcome on a hot day.

We travelled as two couples and both upgraded and paid for a privilege room, one was large family room with a terrace, the other double was disappointingly small. Apart from some hanging space, the small room didn’t have anywhere to store clothes., suitcase etc. While an old building undoubtedly dictates the size of the rooms, they should be priced accordingly. The small room was definitely not worth the price charged.

The staff were wonderfully friendly. The breakfast great, the location great, i would recommend this as a good place to stay.

the wifi service was poor in the room. The dog tariff seemed excessive at 20 euros per dog and frankly ( i am sure it is in the small print) was not clearly expressed in the booking.

The hotel room, the facilities, staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was delicious.

The swimming pool indoors was mouldy and a little tired. Redecoration would be good. Handrails to walk down the stairs from the swimming pool would be a good idea. Very slippery. The breakfast didn't meet the same standard as the rest of the facilities. Some hot food or option for cooked breakfast might be good.

Great hotel in lovely quiet location but not too far from Bagnoles. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Superb food in restaurant and excellent support from sommelier

A bit disappointed with main (fish) dish at Dinner. Raw vegetables difficult to cut with heavy knife!

we had a double family room which was lovely. they had recently installed a lift which was great for moving bags. we ordered breakfast and dinner and the food was excellent prepared by a local chef. Easy parking
