- This is my fifth visit to Avaton...outstanding as usual.Special thanks for accommodating our late check-out request, which helped us a lot to prepare for our next trip.
- The beach was good but no Cabanas, only umbrellas.
- The beach, the breakfast and the excellent service...
Cons -
- It was below expectations. First of all was not a hotel with amenities and facilities as described in booking but more of a villa or apartment type. I have no clue how this is rated as a 5 star hotel, no SPA, no fitness no indoor or outdoor pool but only private room a so called pool but looked more like a tub as per its size. Oy one restaurant and it was extremely expensive given the surroundings.
- The hotel is quite secluded and hard to reach, but this unique location also sets it apart
- Nothing to dislike, truly. One little observation: We had a room with a private pool in the highest section of the complex. The view from the pool deck is great, but if you use the lounger (very comfortable, by the way), the view is obstructed by some shrubbery that has been planted right at eye level. A curious landscaping decision. Although the shrubs are nice to look at, planting something to obstruct the sea view seems unreasonable.

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. Amazing staff. The property has been designed with great care for the comfort of the guests.

Rich breakfast... Chef prepared amazing dinners. The sea was cleanest in Greece.. Almost private beach...
We did like the location of the resort. The beach is not crowded, and the water is clean. We have booked a room with a private pool and it was absolutely amazing. We did like the wine as a compliment in the room. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We have reserved a table for dinner at the restaurant and the food was excellent ?? The lady at reception is very polite.
The private pool was not completely cleaned, and there was green in the corners. We couldn't fully enjoy the dinner and the delicious food because it was full of big mosquitoes that kept biting us. But we called a girl from the staff and she lit a mosquito coil for us by the table which partially solved the problem.
private beach, big rooms great staff
bed mattress was too soft
Beach, restaurant, private swimming pools
Bathroom is way too small for such kind of property
Perfect service, gastronomic food and the room. The staff were great. Special thanks to Georgia from reception.
It is extremely nice. We really loved it. Location, staff, cleanliness- all excellent.
The food and drinks on the beach and restaurant are extremely expensive. It is just a rip off.
Location, beach, stuff
They could provide buggy service for accessing to the beach
Everything was top notch. The service, the kind staff, the DELICIOUS variety of food and fresh products, the scenery, the rooms…
The room was a bit small
Room was large, comfortable and clean. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The wine list is exceptional , probably a higher standard than the food it accompanies. The setting of the hotel and the beach is lovely, clean and tranquil. The breakfast buffet was very high quality, with an extensive range and choice.
The restaurant set up is odd with multiple glass boxes on various levels in the hill sloping down to the beach. Doesn’t help the atmosphere and you are constantly going up and down steps, including with your food for the breakfast. The menu is also less than ideal - the portion size is large , too great for a starter/main/dessert so we shared starters and mains (3 between us) and never got as far as a dessert! I’m glad I didn’t choose half-board.Unfortunately, the bar isn’t great, no views, no atmosphere and hardly used - it’s where the breakfast is laid out.
We would like to warmly thank the entire team at Avaton Luxury Beach Resort & Spa for the wonderful week we were able to spend here. The employees Georgia, Mariam and Christos in particular made our stay unforgettable with their excellent service. The seafront accommodation is breathtakingly beautiful and the food was always great. Σας ευχαριστώ and kind regards, Corinna and Giro from Germany
Awesome food and service. It's a very quiet and secluded beach. Great for kids.
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The room with a pool was outstanding—very clean and beautifully maintained. The staff was exceptionally polite and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. The beach was lovely, not overcrowded, and free from large umbrellas, which added to its charm. The restaurant menu was interesting, offering dishes with a creative twist, though not exactly traditional Greek fare. Unfortunately, I found the fish, which is usually a highlight in Greece, to be a bit disappointing.
The only downside was the small road located just behind the beach, where cars and motorcycles occasionally pass by, which can be a bit disruptive. Overall, though, a fantastic place to stay!
A unique location. Beautiful bay and beach. Great design and atmosphere. Good breakfast.
For 1 week in this hotel and the years of experience I have, I can say that I am disappointed- A general imbalance between price and quality.- Not well trained staff who are willing but lack the necessary training and knowledge for a 5 star hotel. I felt like I was in HR school.- The cleaning of the villas was quite mediocre and superficial.- The food in the restaurant is requested and priced for a Michelin restaurant, but does not meet these criteria. If this was a 4 star hotel without any pretensions, it would get a maximum rating from me. Owners and operators still have work to do and, of course, mandatory control afterwards.
Everything.Praise must be given to the restaurant staff, they were always cheerful and attentive, whatever time of day.The food was excellent and wine choice good.
I thought that there should have been provision for a toilet closer to the dining area, perhaps near the bar?
Love it! Perfect food, beach, service! Truly amazing! Unfortunately in Greece is not so easy to find a good hotel, and trust me this one is good!

This resort is one of the very few that fit our criteria as a vacation immediately after our wedding. We stayed for 8 nights at a Junior Suite with a private pool.We loved (overwhelmingly positive)1. WiFi was great - they use Ubiquity APs (geek) so the speed in the room was enough to watch anything in 4K quality (on the phone, laptop, tablet, etc.). WiFi on the beach was fine, but not great, depending on how many people were using it.2. Beds are comfortable, pillows great, you can tell there's a lot of thinking behind how this resort should be built and the experience behind it.3. Friendly staff - everyone there was super helpful and great overall (apart from small exceptions which I will describe later). The waiters are all great, some awesome.4. Dinner - we had dinner at the venue every other night (ish). We enjoyed the experience of the Or.Os Restaurant, which is a Monastic Fine Dining Experience you have to reserve in advance for. The Chef and all kitchen staff are AMAZING and absolutely everything is cooked with passion and WAY different than anything else you can find in any taverna or restaurant nearby. Food was absolutely 10/10.We enjoyed (positive experience)5. Beach was nice, water great, sand clean, showers clean and nice, fresh towels directly from the staff. Beach staff sometimes slow and unresponsive, we didn’t really see them around much and only 1 person can take orders so you have to find the right person to order something. We didn’t actively look around but it took us an average of 2 hours from when we wanted something to seeing and getting the attention of the person to getting the drinks. Once ordered, drinks arrived in a reasonable time.6. Breakfast - even though it was better than average, it's the same every day, but plenty to choose from as a variety. You do get bored of it, however.7. Air Conditioning was great and did cool properly and fast.
Overall, this is a 5-star place that's priced above average for the offering. Expect to pay double than any place in town for dinner (and everything else).8. Wanted to organise a massage in the sea, which is on the list of services and costs half the minimum wage in Greece for 1 hour (expensive). I went to the reception about 3 times to organise this service, was told that they are waiting for the person to confirm the exact date and hour. I was flexible and gave more than a week notice, requested feedback more than twice and patiently waited for feedback that never came in any form.9. I am not asking for any gratuity, but I did say more than once that we got married and came to Avaton immediately after, that was a chance to offer extra services. It meant nothing (other less expensive places make you feel more special and sell their services better).10. Waiters speak better English than the reception does. Maybe they are better in other languages.11. At checkout, the person I spoke to about the massage in the sea was not there, nor did she know about my discussions. We did accrue quite a lot of extra services (dinners, beach drinks, etc.) which were about 1,000 euros extra. I asked to pay by card and was greeted with a POS that had a % tip amount. I asked what that was, as we left tips in cash usually at the service location (i.e. restaurant, beach, etc.). Was told that was the tip for reception services. I wasn't sure what that was (language barrier), but the % amount was on top of the WHOLE bill for extra services, i.e. 10% was 100 euros. I don't think the reception should ask for a tip as a % of extra services. I left 5% as that was an option on the POS, but didn't feel they deserved it.12. The private pool was fine but sunny until around 5pm, which made it hard to use during the day in spite of the umbrella. Other pools had a canopy, ours did not.13.
