    Pros +

    • We had a wonderful two night stay here! Set back from the road in a very tranquil and relaxing setting. The staff and ladies at reception are so kind, helpful, and accommodating. Restaurant is very good! We stayed here to take some walks in the area as well as visit small towns. Perfect location. We hope to come back!
    • The location, friendly staff.
    • Remote location - really nice for calm retreats. Nice restaurant. Spacious rooms.

    Cons -

    • The kitchen, the food, we had expected more reading the reviews.
    • The dinner was absolutely terrible and AWFUL. We waited over an hour to receive our chosen meals. When they arrived, the main course consisted of 6 small, overcooked, dry, UNCLEANED red prawns each about 4cm long. No sauce, no accompaniment, no rice, no vegetables. Dirty BLACK uncleaned tiny, dry, very overcooked prawns that had received no chef-trained attention at all. My wife could not eat this disgusting sight, so I immediately gave her my food ( two overcooked meat ribs) and I picked off what tiny little prawn meat was edible (and could be cleaned of black poop) from what was on her plate. I should have refused to touch or eat them, but we had waited an hour already, and we were starving. I should have taken a photo and sent them back, but we were in shock and too hungry to think straight. The explanation, given to us only the next day when I pointed this out, was of course, that it had been chef's day off. THIS IS AN UNACCPTABLE EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL THAT PROMOTES ITSELF ONLINE AS PROVIDING EXCELLENT CHEF-FOCUSSED GOURMET FOOD. See the excellent looking chef focussed food on the website. My booking confirmation said " we offer cuisine of the finest quality". The next morning I was expecting the 20+ Euro charge for this awful plateful to be removed, but it was not. I just got the explanation that the chef was not there that day. So I must, for the first time in my life, write this terrible review. The staff present were helpful, but there was clearly no trained chef in the kitchen, and the hotel should have just told us this, or closed the restaurant.
    • We struggled to find nice accommodation near Olot. Mas Ferraria was highly rated so we booked. Not good value for money. The room we booked was small. Hardly room to place 2 suitcases. The bathroom was small and the sink was tiny. The terraces were large so unless you are there in warmer weather, can’t stay out for long. Did get upgraded for a couple of nights (not entire stay) and the room was slightly larger.

    Characterful, upmarket property

Beautiful boutique hotel, our room with a big terrace was really nice. Recommended for couples who are looking for a romantic peaceful and quiet place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and the dinner was great.

Two things stand out in this hotel, staff and location! Beautiful views over the valley. We had a room with courtyard view, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Will definitely opt for the valley view rooms next time. Very complete breakfast and basic but nice dinner options ( nice wine-list! ) Staff is very hospitable and gave us a welcome feeling. Pool an garden so nice. Very close to the area highlights and you can start your hikes from the hotel.

Cannot think of a single negative

The room, common areas and surrounding countryside are beautiful. The staff are wonderful. The Volcano gin and tonic is one of the finest cocktails I’ve had in years.

The Mas is a beautiful relaxing oasis set in the Vall de Bianca near (or perhaps in) the volcano park of Garroxta. The staff, including Judy, Oscar and Oscar, were lovely and endlessly attentive. The swimming pool and the terrace beckon. A great place to base yourself to see a few volcanoes (especially Volcano del Montsacopa don’t miss the cafe with a view) as well as Girona and Besalu. Lots of birds. Very special.

good bed, good breakfast, fast and stable internet connection, good breakfast

    10RogerPosted on: 1-5-2022

We did like everything about it, location wise it is perfect as it is quite isolated and in the middle of the forest where there is barely any noise, our room had a fantastic balcony with great views, in addition, the staff at the hotel were very kind, polite and caring at all times

    10OlgaPosted on: 11-30-2021

We liked everything about this hotel: its nice secluded location, the old stone building and area around the hotel, how thoughtful everything is arranged there, room, food, people working in the hotel - everything was exceptional! The food they offer for breakfast and dinner (if you book dinner) is really of a good quality and very tasty. They even read reviews and correct some things (for example, before booking I read one review that they didn't have "don't disturb/clean the room" signs for the doors, but now they have them). :))))

The only tiny tiny thing is that our sink and mirror in the bathroom were not washed or wiped (as I noticed that only the last night of our stay, it may be that it was only forgotten one time).
