- Lovely pool complex. Food was good. Enjoyed the evening buffet. Beach on the doorstep. Sun loungers and umbrella on the beach included, once assigned to you, these are then yours for your stay. Resort very clean and well looked after.
- Hotel itself along with Bar, Beach and restaurant.Didn't have time to sdample more.
- The food in the restaurant is tasty, the selection is varied and the service is nice and everything is going well. Likewise, the receptionists are helpful. Our room was small, but nicely and purposefully furnished, nothing was missing for satisfaction.Nice and clean beach right next to the hotel. You will be allocated a parasol (sun ubrella) and sunbeds for the entire duration of your stay, and if you are unlucky enough that there is not a free place that you like on the day of your arrival (f.e. first row closest to the sea...), you must also be in the same place on the other days. Beachboy didn't know much English and it was complicated to communicate with him.
Cons -
- Mosquitoes seemed to be a problem around the pizza restaurant, we had to move inside. Insect repellent in the dining area really would have helped. Drinking water- no complementary water in rooms and unbelievably no water stations in the gym either. Slightly over priced.
- The hotel blocked a €500 deposit on our credit card upon arrival in case of damage to the room and kept it for five days after our departure. I would think it would be fair to return the deposit to the card immediately after I check out and the hotel checks that the room is in order (within an hour, one day at most)The policy regarding the rental of towels for the beach and their exchange in case of pollution (you are entitled to exchange only 2 times a week and each exchange is confirmed by stamps on the cards you get at the reception) seems to me undignified. We understand that there may be guests who steal towels or change them too often, but the way Riva Del Sole Resort has chosen to protect against dishonest guests seems excessive to me and makes one feel like a small child suspected of a crime when they have to do everything get a confirmation (card, stamp...) This is a negligible cost for the price of accommodation, when a few dishonest guests treat everyone else as suspects...
- Overall quite an expensive hotel for the service provided, friendliness, helpfulness and state of the place. Very subpar. We have stayed in less expensive resorts with much more superb quality and services. It’s very old and dated property. Even entering with a car is a whole ordeal with lack of signs on where to go.Reception was unfriendly and quite cold. My asking of how to park was greeted with contempt and disbelief that we couldn’t figure something so obvious as driving into an area that says “do not enter” and crowds of people walking on a pavement.Beach staff was downright rude and harsh. The overall resort is very complicated and with a ton of rules. Felt we were in school again with the towels, badges, entrances. An incredible amount of useless bureaucracy for a country that usually has no rules. We misplaced our towels (beach staff cleared them) and you’d think we burned down a hotel room. Took 1 hour and quite a hefty charge to get a new set (very beat up and worn towels). For the price of this hotel, you don’t expect to be haggled on towels. You also have to use the same towel for a whole week which is not very hygienic and the same for the spa (possible to change one time only). If you decide to come, bring your own but do expect to pay a fee for this as well. I would not recommend this place to stay if you’re looking to relax. The dated buildings and constant rules makes it hard to appreciate that you are actually in a beautiful place. Perhaps there are different rules if you’re Italian versus non Italian. It’s a shame because Tuscany can be such a friendly place as someone who’s visited Italy every year for many years. This is not one of them. Prepare to pay a high price for mediocrity.

The only positive was the room was clean, tidy and well organized with space. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very helpful and kind.

Near the city center
From the moment I arrived for check-in, I was met with unprofessional and rude behavior from the staff. This negative experience persisted throughout the process. Upon entering my room, I discovered that the air conditioning was not functioning. It remained out of order until late in the evening, causing significant discomfort. Even when it was finally fixed, the hotel imposed a minimum temperature limit of 22 degrees Celsius, a restriction reminiscent of the pandemic era. Moreover, I faced another inconvenience with the WiFi service. Despite the necessity of internet access for various purposes, the staff did not provide the WiFi password until an hour after I had checked in, adding to my frustration.Amid these issues, there were a few bright spots. Claudio, a member of the staff, was extremely helpful and courteous, particularly in assisting with the handling of our luggage. Additionally, the employees at the beach bar, Abrile and Luna, were exceptionally friendly and provided excellent service.Unfortunately, my overall experience was marred by the conduct of the beachfront staff. They were particularly unaccommodating and unkind to me and my friends. Dominico, in particular, stood out for his poor treatment, which significantly detracted from our enjoyment of the beachfront facilities.
Excellent location close to the beach and the town, exceptional facilities - clean and very well maintained. The staff was very professional and responded to all our requests.
The only inconvenience for a longer stay is the laundry
Beautiful resort with all the amenities; fitness room, pools, beach all top notch; restaurants had great choices that were reasonably priced. Lots of outdoor activities! Great location
The location and facilities were fantastic. Breakfast was a highlight!
Private beach was crowded and beach bar was quite a walk depending on which sun lounger/s are assigned to you.
We booked the stay for a summer beachside umbrella and we got that exactly.
The food in the on property restaurant is barely edible. The seafood platter was served with uncooked shellfish with the waste products still intact. I nearly vomited when dinner arrived and I realized what was in front of me. The breakfast buffet included with the stay was either undercooked or over cooked. The coffee is served from an automatic machine, the fruit juices are so concentrated that the sugar makes one gag from the sweetness. The breads are clearly made in an assembly line. Nothing about the food experience at this property is worthy of Italy. If you stay here, eat in the town not far away where there are half a dozen better options.
The beach was nice and close and it was good to have my own dedicated bed and umbrella. Breakfast was good, and the woman greeting me was really lovely!
Apart from saying hello when I checked in, the front desk staff didn't really pay any attention to me as i came and went - and i was there for a week! other places go to more trouble to make you feel welcome.
A superb 3 night stay at the RDS. The staff were all very welcoming, very presentable and friendly. The hotel itself feels spacious and rooms decorated in a modern style. The setting is idyllic, surrounded by pine trees and a private beach on your doorstep. It is also in a great location for heading into nearby Castiglione Della Pescaia for a change of scenery. We hired bikes from a shop across the road and there's a cycle path directly outside the hotel to town. There is a well appointed gym and spa although I didn't try the treatments given how relaxed I already felt during my stay and the pool area is large enough to spend a few hours of the day lazing around. We had a lovely evening meal at the restaurant and breakfast options were plentiful and varied.
We stayed in a classic room which had lovely classy decor, a large TV, comfy bed, spacious walk in shower although it was a little bit on the small side. Ordered a sandwich from the outside bar/cafe for a quick bite to eat by the pool one afternoon which was very disappointing given the standard of everything else was great. Visiting the small onsite supermarket would have been a better bet for a tastier light snack.
Very nice location with lots of facilities and sandy beach. Public bus connects with Castiglione della Pescaia and its restaurants until midnight
Very costly, you pay for the numerous activities and facilities even if you don't use it
nearly everything. the room, the location and the facilities.
can’t say didn’t like. Restaurants could have had broader choice.
Swimming pool, gym, beach, breakfast
Room was a bit small
everything was perfect
the quality of the food in the restaurants is only sufficient, but the price is the price of a top restaurant. they should change immediately the strategy
Amazing location, top-notch facilities and super professional and friendly staff.
It was very clean. The sea water was also very clean. The staff was very nice.
It's way TOO expensive for what it offers. On Booking the pictures look fancier than in reality. It's just a simple and boring resort, which in September was full of old people from Germany. Not the best place for a young couple like us. The beach is not very nice, the sunbeds and umbrellas look very cheap.
Location is great. Facilities are clean and numerous.
Our family stayed there for 4 nights in 2 connecting rooms. Our Wifi did not work all 4 days. Staff was making excuses but did not address the problem. Also, the Air Conditioning made noise. We complained since we could not sleep for the first 2 nights. They solved the issue on the third day of our stay. The breakfast restaurant was understaffed. Had to wait 30 minutes for coffee. They constantly ran out of breakfast items. Staff was apologetic but nothing ever happened. Just horrible experience for spending Euro 3000 for 4 nights. Senior Management never approached us or tried to apologize for the inconvenience.
The location, the beach, the see. The staff and everybody were more than professional. The rooms are spacious and well equipped.Everything was perfect. Would definitely recommend!
I didn't like the fact that if you get up at 6 am you can't buy a cup of coffee anywhere. A small coffee maker in the room would be a great idea. It comes today in most hotels with lesser number of stars. :)The breakfast was delicious but I think that it could be a bigger variety of food because after third day I was a little bit bored. I admit I am nit picking but I expected a bit more from a 4 star resort.
Very clean
