Pros +
- A beautiful renovated old land house. Renovated with style and in a for us well know area. I am very happy that this kind of properties are well managed and maintained. The dinner and breakfast were expensive but very very nice
- Beautiful property and good value for money. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated, everything is clean and well kept. Staff is helpful. Breakfast was nice.
- Warning: Not a Safe Place and Staff Doesn't Care
Cons -
- The window in my room didn't close fully, making the noise from outside still loud. Also, there was quite a bad sewage smell coming from the bathroom and the water pressure in the shower was quite low.
- Warning: Not a Safe Place and Staff Doesn't CareMy stay at Landgoed Altenbroek was a nightmare. My wallet, with a lot of cash and all my IDs, was stolen right out of the in-room safe. What was even worse was how the staff handled it.When I reported the theft, they were completely unhelpful and nonchalant. They didn't apologize once for the whole incident. They even lied to the police, telling them I had simply "lost" my wallet instead of it being stolen from the safe.I had to fight to get them to call the police, and they spoke to the officers in Dutch, making me feel completely isolated during an already terrible situation. This hotel failed to provide a secure environment. The staff’s lack of care and professionalism was shocking. Don't risk staying here if you value your safety or your belongings.
- A detail could be difficult to manage in winter times: some rooms are only accessible through external corridors and balconies

A very welcoming and highly confortable place, located in a very nice old farm in a wonderful location.

very nice and quiet
no help at all going up by the stairs 4 floors
It’s a beautiful location and building but due to the roadworks we were given very difficult alternative directions that was very difficult find in the dark with no knowledge of the area. It took us an hour from Maastricht to find it!
The hospitality was lacking and the food at the restaurant was incredibly bland and uneventful for the price.
Very nice an quite place in a very authentic and well renovated country house. The hotel is kept in original style very well and you really have the feeling you are inside the original country house.
The constructions on the roads surrounding the hotel made it very hard to reach the place. I understand the hotel is not responsible for it but it made the journey somewhat stresful. Also the the hotel could be cleaned a little better.
Loved the place and surrounding landscape. Beautiful.
I kept getting emails about the detour in Dutch instead of English. I had to translate them and it caused me to miss a turn and arrive late. You need to send emails in English.
Quiet location, cute, spacious house
The house is next to a dusty road, it has very steep stairs
Imposing buildings and land with plenty of walking and cycling locally.
Isolated at the end of a broken road.Reception staff only moderately helpful.Long walk over gravel from parking, two steep narrow stairways to the room, we decided it was easier to leave our suitcases in the car and carry what we needed. Expensive breakfast.
The location was so serene and just what we needed. Property was very charming to look at. Could not fault the restaurant service and the staff were very friendly and welcoming .
Cleanliness can be improved. Cob webs and spiders in rooms, dirt and grime in showers . Was extremely surprised and disappointed as at first look, it’s absolutely beautiful. Think staff need to take time more to do a thorough clean up as it appears they clean only the surface.
The breakfast was fabulous! The evening dinner was terrific. The beds were very comfortable and the scenery and location were great!
The room(economy) was very small for such a high price. The ceiling slanted and numbing your head was routine. There were nails sticking up out of the floor and the floor boards were separating. Very dangerous in bare feet. Asked for further information prior to check in, in English but never received a response(5 days ahead of time). Grounds need a lot of work.
The bed was very comfortable and the rooms was clean. The hotel is in a beautiful location.
The hotel is in a beautiful old building, but lacks a lot of character. The room was very basic, the window was very dirty and was lacking some basic amenities like hand soap. The staff seemed very quick to get us out after checkout, no 'how was your stay' or 'have a good trip'. Very impersonal.
This hotel is in the process of refurbishment and is like an old manor house and my comments are in that context. We had originally booked a "comfort room " but it was unsuitable and we weren't prepared to stay in it. After a very helpful conversation with the receptionist, we were then offered two excellent options and she prepared the selected room for us. This changed our opinion of the hotel to 10/10. The hotel is in a very beautiful location. Our upgraded room had the most stunning view, wonderful huge bed and bathroom with all facilities.
Once the refurbishment plan is fully completed, we are sure that high standards will be implemented in rooms throughout the hotel.
It was very special experience living in a separate house, located in the heart of nature reserve. The house was simply excellent. Spacious, extremely clean, yet having all the needed facilities for spending time with family.
Beautiful place that worths visiting. The hotel is beautiful and the food that they prepare is magnificent. The atmosphere was perfect, esp. during the period of Christmas. Nicely decorated, nice music, well maintained facilities.
The rooms need renovation. The bathroom was full of saltwater stains that were not cleaned. The walls of the room I stayed had stains and needed painting.
Very old world charm, location and ambience.
Price of meals.
Beautiful residence located in nature with great service! Spacious room, nice neat design and great breakfast! We actually regret that we didn’t have dinner there. At night it was super silent in the room, though it was in front of the stairs. I would really recommend this place if you’d like to stay somewhere far from tourists routes and like nature, silence and good service.
Small minus was that parking area was quite muddy, as there’s no asphalt there, so when we walked to the entrance from there in the dark our shoes got pretty dirty.
The tasting menu at the local restoran was divine - we thoroughly enjoyed every course as well as the matching wines and the cozy fireplace.
The place is just gorgeous, situated in a lush green environment so it breaths quietness. De interior is modern but with many original details. The room is nice, good bed and everything looks well maintained. Breakfast is excellent with many choices.
