    Pros +

    • We really had a great stay. The location is perfect. The staff is truly amazing (caring , polite and smiling)The pool is a great asset as well as the basket ball set outside There are restaurants nearby
    • This was an overnight stay and it was lovely. The staff were very pleasant and professional. The breakfast was the best one we had had on our journey in Spain and France. A Steak House, MacDonalds, pizza place and a family run Chinese restaurant were within a two minute walk distance. We liked it here.
    • Handy very comfortable hotel near the center near restaurants and main roads

    Cons -

    • Nothing to report. We loved our stay ( 4 nights)
    • Couldn’t get Netflix to work on the tv. Nit impressed with Agen itself but that’s not the hotels fault
    • Two things. 1. I paid via Booking.com. But the hotel said I needed to pay them. I travel a lot and book alot through Booking.com. Hotels have different policies so I didn't think to check when asked. I have since discovered that I have paid twice. The references from Ibis on my statement relate to another hotel in Nice (!!) which is causing great confusion. And three months later I am still trying to sort this out with Ibis Customer Service. I have paid double for this hotel. I urge anyone who is using Ibis to double check first otherwise you could be charged twice too! 2. In the restaurant there was an issue between the waiting staff. This led to some raised voices and one waitress running through the restaurant in tears. I have no idea what it was about but it created a very uncomfortable atmosphere.

Huge room and tv. Big bathroom. Staff were the best. But this is what you pay the extra for

Large room, kettle. 20 minutes walk to restaurants. Breakfast good with staff refilling food.

Couldn’t get Netflix to work on the tv. Nit impressed with Agen itself but that’s not the hotels fault

It had a restuarant, which served nice food. There was a great break out area where those working on their trip were able to operate.

The room was a good size for the 4 of us; 2 adults 2 children (2,4) and the bathroom was big which was a plus. It was relatively quiet. The air conditioning worked well. It was clean. Staff was very friendly. The pool and some games outside were great for the kids. Also enough shade!

The pool only opens at 10am which is very late. We are used to opening hours of 8am which is much nicer with small children who are up early. Breakfast was too expensive as we are not big eaters so we didn’t choose it. The restaurant was unfortunately closed due to summer holidays.

Comfortable room. Helpful staffGood facilities Excellent breakfast

Problem with air.con but suitably resolved.

    Very good

At checkout personal forgot to charge toerist-tax. Called me in my car and contacted me by e-mail to ask for my credit card number. Absolutely unacceptable .

Great breakfast, excellent restaurant next door. Parking easily accessible.

Easy to find, clean, welcoming staff. Reasonably priced. Perfect location for the rugby stadium!

    Clean with pleasant staff

Was not converting to a Mercure hotel until 15 October the building had signs stating it was Astoria hotel and was still undergoing finish construction. Created confusion in trying to find the location for our booking, no mention of construction continuing. Detailed description stated it was a two bed and sofa bed room room (which was why we booked it) Actually it was a queen bed with a sofa bed. Rereading the main description it did state it was a one bed and sofa bed, obviously conflicting descriptions. disappointing to see this from Booking.com

In spite of ongoing works the property was clean and tidy with no noise. Well managed.

Front road sign was hard to read

Nothing - we didn’t take up our booking - we found somewhere else to stay.

This property is being renovated and should not be offering rooms for occupation. When I put the address in my Sat nav it came up “Hotel closed” and so it is in effect. On arrival the place look deserted. Furniture stacked up outside under the porch. Dust sheets throughout what could be seen of the ground floor. Reception ? One lady on a bar stool with a lap top. No bar facilities - no one around at all. Grounds neglected. Not somewhere I would have felt comfortable or safe staying overnight

Very close to restaurant and shops, staff were very friendly and super helpfull would definitely recommend

Work men were in as the hotel was unfinished but they were no disturbance

    Bad

Hotel was under renovation and all communal areas were like a building site! We weren't advised of this before our stay.

    10SusanPosted on: 8-31-2023

The hotel was undergoing renovation but this did not detract at all from our stay. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was great, the rooms were very comfortable and well appointed and the bathroom was spotless. Would highly recommend.

    Bart happy with everything

    3ClarePosted on: 8-30-2023

Bedroom was clean. Staff were helpful

Reception was a bombsite. In the middle of renovating Booking . Com shouldn’t have recommended it. We spent a lot of money on the booking & would never have done so, had we known.

    4AndrewPosted on: 8-19-2023

Good location for our purpose of visit. Nice size room.

There was no mention of the renovation work at time of booking. Tv in room was set up to be able to cast from my phone but this facility didn’t work and nor did YouTube etc so we couldn’t have any music.

    1SimonPosted on: 8-19-2023

Halfway through be renovated, lobby reception area was a building site, corridors with wires on display and ceiling tiles removed for building work, staff were nice
