Pros +
- A very well-appointed hotel in the heart of Agen - very quiet and private.
- What a great place! Loved the atmosphere, the decor, and the friendliness of Stephen (our host). Bonus: he has an adorable dog named Ulysses who you'll fall in love with. The room was wonderful. The breakfast was good. The location was ideal for our visit.
- This was the most beautiful, “French” chateau. Our room was spacious with massively high ceilings, dual windows that opened to the front courtyard, comfortable double queen beds, a huge bathroom. The furnishings were colorful, inviting with mixed patterns and beautiful antique furniture in the midst of modern luxuries. We’d been traveling in 5 different cities and had the best sleep here! Additionally the free, comprehensive breakfast was offered in one of the lovely parlors on the main floor. Free parking in the front and the host allowed us, after checking out, to leave our car parked there for the afternoon while we sight-seed.
Cons -
- I booked because it said free parking but there were severe restrictions so I am not sure it should be called “free.” The parking is in the secured courtyard which is a plus but guests have no control over the gate and you are at the mercy of the host to get in and out. The host wouldn’t open the gates until 8 am and they would close for the night at 7 pm. If you need to get in or out outside of these times, you have to park in the public paid parking. It was a headache to have to wake up every morning and walk to the public paid parking lot and move my car back to the courtyard so I didn’t have to pay for parking all day which would have been 28€. It’s 2025, surely there is a way to provide guests with gate codes and access. It’s also listed as non-smoking but the place smells like cigarette smoke throughout.
- It was perfect—I wish we’d had time to stay there for a week!
- Confusion over reception opening hours - had to phone when we arrived.Strange breakfast. Served cold, dry toasted rolls and cold croissants - also not at their best.

Well situated. Interesting historic throwback. Good modern bathroom.

The location was ideal and Stephen the host is lovely and helpful along with his adorable little french bulldog.....so cute x.He upgraded our room free of charge to a beautiful double fronted window room overlooking the front of the hotel for our 3 night stay and the decor is stunningly french. Deffinately recommend.
I loved the charm and ambiance of this beautiful and historical property and the owner is very kind and welcoming, as are his two adorable French Bulldogs.
Very quaint hotel. Host was very welcoming and our room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Parking on site safe and secure
Lovely historical building that is well maintained.

Super clean, full of character and an excellent location. Host was fabulous !
The host welcomed us to his house. The period atmosphere was genuine and made for a special stay. Superb breakfast.
No problems at all.
Characterful old grand house in the centre of the town with space to park. Eccentrically decorated, but beautiful. Simple traditional breakfast. Friendly and entertaining host.
Decor, friendly staff, great location, good breakfast.
10 am checkout, but not a big deal.
What an intriguing place. Stephan, the proprietor was totally charming. The hotel was adorable, quirky, and full to the brim with character. Beds were comfortable (great bed linen) and our twin room was really spacious. I loved the time warp bathroom! I felt like I’d been transported back to the 60’s with the pink suite and marble. We loved it! Breakfast was simple continental fayre but delicious nonetheless and great value. The only downside was the evidence of the owner possibly being a smoker. There was no smoke or foul smell. It was impeccably clean, but I could smell the odour of cigarettes that had permeated throughout the furnishings. Apart from that, this place is a wonderful place e to stay AND the bonus of parking facilities!!!
The cigarette smell.
Charming building with lovely rooms. Owner very helpful.
The location was good and parking was a big bonus. The owner was nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel was very nice and it was nice to find a room with a bath :)
Although the hotel was no smoking the smell of someone smoking was strong especially in our bedroom
Fabulous!!! Just what we needed after a long days travel. Stunning property, situated in the centre of town with a private car park, close to restaurants and shops. Beautifully decorated with taste and interesting antiques. Delightful host with good recommendations. Ate at an upmarket restaurant 2 minutes walk from the hotel gates.Rooms extremely comfortable with luxury bedding, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. I was very grateful for the large bath and had a much needed soak with lashings of hot water. Breakfast was above and beyond the usual continental. All in all a wonderful stay and will be staying again in the very near future. It was a last minute plan and I booked it from the airport as we were too tired for a long drive and I’m so glad we did.
A wonderful Chateau in central Agen. A beautiful house decorated with great pride in appearance. The breakfast was magnificent, the room large, the bed beyond comfortable and its a special place.
The room was quite cold initially.
Great breakfast . Lovely room . Great shower . Friendly host .
Stairs but this is unavailable in an old property. Rushed to check out because of staff cleaning schedule.
