Pros +
- Staff was amazing- so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
- Very nice location along Coles Bay with view of the water and surrounding hills of the Freycinet Peninsula. The room was well furnished and comfortable for the two of us. The grounds were also a delight with wallabies feeding in the evening and fairy wrens flitting around in the morning!
- Wonderful location, beautiful quiet and peaceful beach right in front. Wonderful views of the mountains and bay
Cons -
- Perhaps the only limitation was the lack of dining opportunities in Coles Bay; but this has no bearing on Edge of the Bay, which does offer meal service. We did enjoy breakfasts in the dining room as part of our lodging.

Location is great right on the water with direct access from your door and a spectacular view across the water. Restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. The door key pad is great, no keys required. Also there is filtered water in the room

Just the location and the serenity of the place. Quiet and peaceful, just right for a couple to enjoy their time together. We loved waking up to the fresh air and the gentle sounds of nature. It felt private, cosy, and perfect for a relaxing getaway.
We loved the resort from the second we arrived. Loved the key pad room access, views of the bay from the balcony, layout of the rooms and the hospitality from the staff.Dinner was exceptional and the breakfast each morning was delicious.
Nope not a thing ?
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed on both nights we stayed. It would have been nice not to have to drive out for dinner on both evenings, the hotel had such a wonderful view
Just returned home to Sydney and it's safe to say I miss the Edge of the bay. A truly stunning location, with views that are hard to articulate. The staff were completely accomodating to every request. Their knowledge and expertise of Tasmania made the stay that extra bit better. Plenty of great recommendations. The breakfast was amazing every morning, and the dinners were a great experience with fresh local produce. Coles bay is a beautiful location on the east coast, around 15mins from wineglass bay (freycinet national park), 2hrs to Bays of fires, 2.5hrs to hobart and around 2hrs to launceston airport. All in all fantastic stay.P.s make sure you ask Serge for an iced latte.
only things (me being picky):- wifi isn't fantastic- TV is old
We appreciated that breakfast was included with our stay. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Staff members gave us excellent recommendations on where to go, given our limited time available. These proved to be right on target. There were interesting birds on the property which we photographed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We had an outstanding view from our room both at sunrise and sunset.
We were buzzed by a drone when we first arrived. No clue why and that annoyed me. I never figured out what it was for. Perhaps another patron.
This place was very special. The staff are amazing. The lovely lady on the front desk was so helpful and kind, the breakfast was very nice. We said we feel like we are the tv show called getaway, fantastic room, breath taking view and free bikes, tennis and pickleball. This was our favourite of all our 8 day trip around tasmania. Thank you
The staff and location
No WiFi
Location no doubt, beaches; check-in, property in good shape; excellent showers; good beds; heating/air con good.
Would have liked fresh pastries/bread/rolls in the morning - so easy to do; no breakfast service at all; espresso service off library could be so nice; dining service very mixed; first night excellent; 2nd night ok (in fairness just starting up). A little functional - what happened to atmosphere? Dimmed lights instead of gym lights? Zero wine selection. A little “extra” on the hospitality would have been nice. Not unlike safari in Africa, a little something can go a long way..as we are far from everything but nature!

Woke up to the sound ocean and beautiful birds singing.Great view from bedroom! Close walk to beach.Restaurant great meal and fantastic staff from Brazil. Thank you for the hospitality.Having an outdoor fire was awesome!Friendly visitors in the early morning.
Shower was ridiculous - the water pressure was so low! Could not see ocean from outdoor area of chalet, great tree top views. Only one outdoor chair and one lounger? Restaurant and wine prices high!
Wow, the oceanfront views!!! Large modern rooms with luxury features including fireplace, deck spa and day beds, large bathroom with sauna and comfortable lounge and bed.
We didn't stay long enough!!
We stayed in a two bedroomed cottage with amazing views across the bay. Welcomed in the morning by pademelons and singing birds. We accidentally left an iphone charger in our cottage and Edge of the Bay immediately contacted us and are sending it back to us. Staff were very friendly.
Great view to The Hazards, and we enjoyed dining at the Veuve restaurant.
Had to bring breakfast as none available on site or nearby.
Loved the location — near town, near national park, yet it feels so secluded and private. Beautiful beach and rocks right out our deck. Sweet wallabies that came to visit each evening (don’t feed them!!). Excellent staff, very friendly and responsive and helpful. Very comfortable bed, pillows, nice new bathroom with counter space and good mirrors and lighting (things that ladies look for). Big desk where I could write, set up laptop. Cute kitchenette with fridge big enough to hold several bottles of wine that we collected nearby at the fantastic wineries. Wonderful darkness at night so we could see zillions of stars and the Milky Way. Magical place!! Highly highly recommend.
Weak WiFi
Views of beach/sea from bed in the morning. Very short walk to the beach and rocky areas
Weather could have been a bit sunnier
Beauriful house with very spacious accommodation, fantastic views, easy access to beautiful deserted beach. Pleasant staff.
No cloths in kitchen (though scouring pad) but provided rapidly. Coffee machine had wrong capsules, but provided by end of stay. Washing machine powder would have been useful.Dishwasher didn't work but was fixed quicklyNo internet, apparently a recent problem with the houseResidence is not on the main site so access to restaurant involved a drive, or a 20 minute walk through the bush which we hadn't expected
