About
This restored winery is yards from Port de la Selva Beach, just outside the Cap de Creus Natural Park. It has 2 restaurants and a wellness center with sauna. Rooms at the Hotel Spa Porto Cristo are charming and well-equipped, with twin beds, double beds or king-size beds and slippers. The design includes characteristic wood and stone. Many rooms have a hydromassage bath or hot tub, and some offer sea views and a terrace. Views of the sea and the port can be enjoyed from the terrace of the Monterey restaurant. The La Timba restaurant serves salads, pizzas and fresh pasta. Free Wi-Fi is available at Porto Cristo’s business center. Outdoor parking is possible on site.

Cons -
- The water was a little hard and smelled like sulfur, but we knew this before arrival. Just be sure to buy some bottled water to drink in your room. Showers were fine, though, with good water pressure.
- Parking a distance, no milk for tea, coffee machine didn’t work.
- We were put in a standard double room by the stairs, presumably in the annex next to the main building. The sound isolation was so bad we could hear people moving all night in the rooms upstairs, we could hear people on the stairs. We were woken up so many times in one night that we asked to change rooms. The reception first told us that the room type we booked was full and we would have to pay for an upgrade, then that the room upstairs was vacated. It took several complaints over several days for them to move us to a different room, after we were prepared to leave the hotel and find something else. The person that finally moved us was very sympathetic and the new room was great, but this took far too long, we had already spent half the vacation sleepless. A standard double does not mean poor quality rooms in a 4 star hotel.

This was our second stay so you can tell we liked it. The bedroom was good with a lovely bath and a very comfortable bed. It was quiet. The breakfast was terrific. All in all good value for money and I'd definitely recommend it.
Some of the staff need to smile a bit more ?Avoid the place they recommend for dinner - the Monterrey. We went last time - it was soulless, overpriced, the staff were miserable and tbe food average. (We met someone this time who had exactly the same experience.) Much better - go to the L'Art Restaurant Port de Reig (even if you think it doesn't look exciting - the good is great, the staff friendly and its good value)
Breakfast was special and in lovely surroundings/room . Own jacuzzi in bathroom was a bonus
Sound separation from neighbouring room was not the best
Luxury hotel. Very clean. Very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing.

The Hotel is well located: close to the beach, restaurants and stores. Nearby there is a parking area where we could leave the car for free. The staff is friendly and, in our case, really helpful: we needed to leave early and they offered alternatives so we could have breakfast.
Breakfast and location close to the beach
We felt that they took advantage of us, we booked a junior suite mentioning that we would have a kid and they said that was fine then then charged us extra when we arrived, their justification was vague, they clearly took us for fools, really not the level of professionalism that you expect for a 4 star hotel. The room was badly decorated, one lamp didn’t work. Disappointing.
Clean, modern, light and very well situated
I liked the view from the room, the comfort of the room, the design of the breakfast venue, the lounge rooms and rooftop of the hotel
I was stolen a high quality trousers (EUR 100 worth) in the room, which I am 200% sure I forgot in the room and which the staff said they had not found it when cleaning the room. I was expecting much more security and seriousness and offering of solutions for such a high-end hotel. Given the rate of the room, this hotel is not worth the money. One would also expect the spa to be included but one has to pay for it in addition and it is very pricey (although it is then private, that is fair). But what made the stay really unpleasant in the end was the loss of my trousers. Also the buffet breakfast was very disappointing. They ran out of bread when we arrived and they did not propose an alternative to it. And overall the food in the breakfast was rather low-key and low quality
We have stayed here years ago and the revamp is confidently elegant with high end fit out and painting throughout.
Most of the staff are friendly but not all.We asked for an hour extra to check out late on our last day (of two) and were happy to pay for it if necessary. Most of the reception staff kicked for touch and said ask on the day as that Saturday was fully booked out which we appreciated and respected. On the check out morning we asked for an extra hour was granted, but it felt grudging. 15mins before the extended check out the person on reception rang our room to ensure we were checking out. Didn’t feel great not being trusted. Maybe they have had bad experiences but we were just about to leave. A really good experience was spoiled by the person on reception ( an older woman, maybe the owner?) on handing back our room fobs she was surly and non communicative, as if she couldn’t see the back of us fast enough. Not nice, maybe don’t take the front of house job!
Close to the beach. Had a great big bath and a line you could pull across to dry your washing. Super helpful receptionist who made great suggestions for walks and restaurants.
Superb
Please check room 302 for bed bugs. I suspect to have been bitten (multiple bites in myself and my friend)
good central location nice spa tub
have stayed here in the past and very much enjoyed the facilities. this time the room was smaller and in a noisy location. not sure if rooms booked via booking are the worst ones or what. hotel was lightly booked so there were certainty better rooms available
Exceeded expectations. Beautifully renovated and decorated old wine warehouse. Breakfast was excellent.

The location was good and breakfast was included!
Our room was very small, the pillows very uncomfortable and we had only one towel for two people. I expected better preparation in a 4 star hotel. At breakfast the eggs and orane juice tasted bad, the rest was ok. We also tried the food in the hotel owned restaurant. It was way too expensive for that quality of food! 15€ for two canneloni noodles, that would not even satisfy a childs hunger. The pizza was burned and the 5 waiters (for 7 tables with costumers) were bored, snooty and unfriendly. I don't recommend this hotel at all!
Clean and renovated hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean and looking very nice. Bed is comfortable. We had a room with a hot tub, it was big.The hotel is very close to the beach, location is perfect. We could use street parking as there were no meters this time of the year.
Everything was good. There is room for improvement in the breakfast options but it was not bad.
Good location in center of town and close to the beach
Check-in took to long time
Nice and plentiful breakfast buffet :)Nice pool even if a little walk from the hotel
The noise from the room next door when spa was turned on
