Posada del Angel

Beautiful place, wish I had more time to spend enjoying the hotel itself! Very peaceful grounds, very clean, lush, vibrant, great helpful people, delicious breakfast with gorgeous views!

Posada del Angel is a beautiful colonial style hotel, decorated beautifully and with a balcony view of Fuego and Acatenango volcanoes. The beds were comfortable, the staff were so helpful and kind, the included breakfast was outstanding (something I looked forward to everyday), and the location was close to everything. They were also very communicative and helpful when we arrived in Guatemala City to arrange for our transport to the hotel. I will stay here again for my next trip to Guatemala.

We did not like it.

The room we got had a musty smell. The room was dark and there were mosquitoes everywhere. We left the same night we checked in.

We stayed in the Presidential Suite and the room was large with a big, comfy bed and a separate jacuzzi tub and shower. It was nice and private being the only room upstairs, and we enjoyed having a private place on the rooftop terrace, too. The cooked-to-order breakfast was very good, and the women who served it were very nice. The door to the property is a locked gate 24/7 and we felt very secure there.

The staff is exceptional! Anibal and Nathalia were great communicators by email even before arrival. The hotel is just an 8 minute walk to the main plaza and the cathedral. Ruins, shopping and nice restaurants within walking distance. Pacaya National Park is only an hour away. Several good travel agencies near the main square.Rooftop terrace offers spectacular views of the Agua volcano. Very nice breakfasts served at the dining room on the ground floor or at the rooftop terrace.

Spotty Wi-Fi coverage. Poor or no signal in the rooms. The walls are thick so a signal repeater would help!Woven carpet in the room was dirty and worn.

A very beautiful and comfortable hotel! The staff were really lovely and breakfast was great. Our room was large and comfortable.

This was the absolute perfect place for us to stay for my birthday and Valentine's Day!The service was great, the room was cozy and comfortable, and the entire place had the most beautiful charm. The rooftop terrace offered amazing views and was a great place to relax and chat. On top of all that, the breakfast was absolutely delicious! They served the absolute best omelettes and French toast, and the frijoles were very tasty. Overall, it was an excellent stay!

Leaving the room key in reception everytime we went out was not great

Warm staff, quality breakfast, turn down service, very good location - close to center yet steps away from the crowd/noise.

Having to ring the doorbell every time you want to get into the property doesn’t make us feel welcomed. Tips/service charge included in the bill that we weren’t told about at check in. I am all for the service charge, if I had been briefed up front at check in I would have tipped throughout my stay differently.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in! The room had a huge comfortable bed and great shower in the bathroom. I only stayed one night but it was cosy and peaceful, away from the busy Antigua center - just what I needed after hiking. Staff were very friendly. Its not cheap but worth it if you want to treat yourself.

Wifi was intermittent and slow at times - not a major issue though. Personally I would have liked a few more options at breakfast.

I liked the place. Small and cosy. The room and bathroom were nice, and I like the patio seating in front. Really needed a writing table although I was just there for a night. Location is fine - not in the heart of the town but close enough. Breakfast was very good.

Location does not look like anything on the outside, but inside is beautiful, rustic, and relaxing. Breakfast was better than average, but everyone was extremely helpful and friendly!

Faster hot water dispensing (it took a while for the hot water supply in the bathroom to arrive (a few minutes to arrive)

We were wowed as soon as the front door opened into this gorgeous boutique Inn with its stunning colonial architecture and elegant interior. The staff were so great and nothing was a bother. Our breakfast was made fresh to order every morning with delicious locally sourced fruit orange juice & Guatemalan coffee. Our room was perfect, cozy & had everything we could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Free Parking across the street in a secure lot with a ticket from the hotel staff and within a few blocks from the main square. We were so sad to leave.

It would have been nice to have some snacks available while we drank a bottle of wine in the evening. However in saying that, we never asked for them.

We had an incredible stay at Posada del Angel and would be delighted to stay there again. The room was lovely and well appointed, the breakfast was exceptionally tasty (try the refried beans, they're amazing!) and we had a truly exceptional level of support from the hotel staff. Our concierges were friendly, incredibly knowledgable, provided great recommendations and went above and beyond to help us - especially after landing at the airport and locate our taxi driver. Truly a hidden gem of a hotel and you will not be disappointed during your stay.

Honestly nothing we did not like or enjoy. We had a really wonderful stay and have no critical feedback. No complaints or concerns to mention! Thanks!

Way too expensive of a hotel for Freezing cold showers! Shower pressure was the worst I had experienced in the country as well. No amenities, no fridge or tea kettle which should come standard when paying over 200 a night. They will hold things in the fridge for you but it was inconvenient. Also the buzz you in every time you return to the hotel, but sometimes it took several minutes which was also a pain when trying to go to your room.

Posada del Angel exceeded all expectations! The service was impeccable, thanks to the warm hospitality provided by Nathalia and Anibal and the entire staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Before even we started our trip, ensuring we had everything we needed, their attention to detail truly made us feel at home. The atmosphere was charming, the rooms were cozy and spotless, and the overall experience was exceptional.
