- Access to the towers was closed due to some sort of maintenance work. Nobody’s fault, but disappointing.

After visiting parador siguenza multiple times over 3 decades, it was so nice to come back and be reminded what a truly magical place this is. However, this visit was spoiled by a surly check-in clerk and a condescending, uncaring, and unprofessional management staff.
The surly check-in representative and the condescending, unprofessional management staff during our arrival processing.
Location and a castle experience
Tower and walking on the wall was not open and nothing in the booking mentioned that. Bed was very hard - disappointing for the cost. Lighting is too bright in the dining room.
History of the castle has always been wonderful. Staff was great. Food was excellent. Rooms were comfortable and we appreciated the extra help with handicap needs.
It was VERY disappointed in the "remodeling" of the rooms. White washed walls and sheetrock replaced the once wonderful original stone walls and antiques were special. We stayed there numerous times in the 1980's. Now so much change makes it more like a modern hotel room inside a spectacular castle. Too bad in my opinion.
The parador is beautiful from the inside out. Fountain, well, and gardens in the courtyard were very pleasant. We enjoyed the view of the courtyard from our balcony.
It would have been very nice to be able to explore the walls overlooking the village. They were blocked off.
The first thing you love about this castle is that it's still a castle in it's original form, meaning the walls are still stone and mortar. A lot of castles have had convenience conversions and their hallways and rooms are drywall, which is not a decision breaker, but definitely not as cool as the real ones that have not had conversions that required drywall.. this is just one of the things I found that makes a difference for me in castle hotels. For those that have had drywall used they should've at least used plaster instead..
We love SiguenzA for its elegant, sublime simplicity
Breakfast though was complicated in a vast room with too many stations with not enough serving utensils
The location , building Good food
Work in progress, still under construction Shower overflows very easily
Nearly everything was wonderful! Nice firm bed, clean, balcony with view. AWESOME breakfast!
Room was warm at night. We could not lower the temperature from ~24C. (We prefer ~20C). We slept with windows open.
The place is amazing. Being in a castle, with a wonderful view... Everything , breakfast was very good
Maybe the carpets, and rugs were dirty... They should give you more info about the surroundings, town activities, and restaurants. Advertising museums to promote the beautiful place where the parador is located
The castle itself has been beautifully restored, and it's a joy to visit and wonder around. The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient. Our room was huge, and we had plenty of space to unpack and settle in. The towels and linen were first-rate, and the massive four-poster bed was really comfortable. We had read some unfavourable reviews concerning the in-house restaurant, and indeed, a first-hand account from someone we'd met the previous week, so we avoided eating dinner there. However, the immediate area has plenty of other restaurants, so you do have choices. The breakfast was lovely. Very well presented with a wide selection of foods and all done with a high degree of professionalism and food hygiene. Each person having their own serving tongs for taking anything from the buffet as well as waiting staff. We parked our motorcycle in an area big enough for two motorcycles just outside the main entrance, free of charge, in the walled courtyard, and although outside, it felt secure.
We were aware before we visited that this Parador was about to close for several months for a re-fit, so we were wary that it might be a bit ragged. Sadly, I believe they had left it just a bit too long in a few areas. The bathroom in our room was really in quite a state of disrepair. Worse than, but not unlike, a previous Parador we'd stayed at in Cuenca. It may well have been because of the imminent closure, but the bar was badly stocked, and with only one waiter serving the room, it became difficult to get a drink.
Location, hotel, hotel views. Staff were lovely.
Food was served cold
Location plus interior, excellent
The dinner in the restaurant
the staff were fantastic and the rooms some of the best on my trip. The whole experience after a long ride from London was first class. The restaurant, despite a relatively limited menu was also very high quality
Fantastic building and location. Staff supportive of group of cyclists. Breakfast buffet good.
The location is amazing!!The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a little spartan - but that's even positive as part of the 'old fortress' experience. The bathroom/shower was clean and efficient.
The dinner menu was very limited. The air in the upstairs corridors seemed a little stale so some more ventilation might be a good idea. This did not affect the room.It would be extremely helpful to have a well visible sign in the main external carpark with an arrow that says "Hotel Entrance". After arriving in the car park I walked another kilometer through the streets before realising I had already arrived.OK - it's a fortress on top of a hill. How can you mistake it? But I didn't realise that fortress was the Parador.
Stunning location and beautiful decor
Wifi was down - not the hotel’s fault
Beautiful lovingly restored property.
The menu in the restaurant was very limited and no English version available. For breakfast we had to ask for milk, butter, teaspoons. When asked for milk for cereals, hot milk was served.
