Right off highway, room quiet

It wasn’t my cup of tea but it beats driving while tired. More stairs than expected, though.

The building is amazing, and the staff is very professional and helpful. The facilities are very nice, and the breakfast is recommendable. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely come back to this hotel. If you have an electric car, they have Tesla chargers within the facility.

Hotel itself is modern bright and spacious, with good sized bedroom and bathroom. Comfortable bar/cafe area. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Stayed en route to Santander ferry, about 2.5 hours drive. Would stay here again when making the trip again.

Breakfast was not much more than adequate in terms of choice and selection on offer. The limited selection of breads, pastries and meats/cheeses were themselves quite good, just not a great choice. Dinner in the restaurant was only average too, not the best, but far from the worst. Basically, the food experience was just a bit underwhelming, but it would not put me off staying again.

Location and restaurant staff did their best

No fridge in room (as per mandatory item in 4 stars hotel in Spain), no elevator, a lot of flies in the restaurant and location (using vinager is not enought, you must use flies control devices all over the place).

The confort the food and the quietneds. Also a good airco.

The swimming pool was closed !!!In the summer at 36 degrees Celcius!

24h check-in was very helpful as we had an unpleasant event and had to check-in at 4am.Reception was amazing and helped us both at checkin and in the morning when we needed local knowledge, taxi and airport shuttle, it was refreshing to be offered these options and get the help we desperately needed.

Location is fantastic, great size room very clean. Staff very friendly.

As someone with limited walking ability there was a lack of handrails on stairs.

The breakfast was very basic , and only one coffee machine working for everyone!

Our bathroom needed an update, the toilet moved every time you got up from it , the makeup mirror was off the wall !

-Close to Tesla SC, the reasone I've picked this place;- restraunt but the food is basic.

- no heating, after staying here I found negative reviews more than 3 month back; - no hot water during the stay and therefore no possibility to take a shower after the trip.- no desire to help from hotel personnel;- kitchenware is lucking very basic equipment; fridge was full of ice, not cleaned properly; no dining table as well, so the kitchen is not supposed for cooking; - bad soundproof from the street noise;

Stunning tree covered setting. Lovely modern hotel, spacious room. Super friendly staff. Red squirrels in the grounds, visible from the balcony!

I was travelling from Portugal to France and wanted somewhere clean and decent not too far off my route. The hotel was reasonably priced and looked nice. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the shower was good. You could also add breakfast for €9 per person. The staff were all lovely and spoke good English. The guy on the front desk at night, the lady on the front desk in the morning and the lady at breakfast were all really friendly and helpful.The breakfast was your standard continental fare. I enjoyed some Serrano? Parma? Ham with some melon, croissants, pain au choc, juice and coffee

So I turned the shower on and got drenched because the cleaners had left it on the wand but pointed directly at you. I managed to take it in the face and flood the bathroom.Also the coffee machine kept breaking. Not good when you need coffee in the morning! Luckily there was only me and a couple of couples otherwise it could have been a major problem.

Good quality hotel for those travelling with kids and family. Breakfast is passable and there are no kettles in the rooms. Beds re comfy and surrounding is nice and quite.

I feel like the hotel has declined a bit and become more basic. The food wasn’t great and the breakfast was sparse.

We've stayed in El Montico before, it's well located for the Santander and Bilbao ferries. The rooms are very comfortable, the dining room is good and breakfast is also good. Would certainly recommend for a one night en route through Spain.

The dining room and public area were chilly so we just ate our meal and went back to our room.

The reception staff were friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel was warm, clean, spacious and decorated to a high standard.The bed and pillows were amazing and the room was nice and warm ?

The drain smell coming from the bathroom wasn't very nice.We would have liked a kettle in our room.Breakfast could have been better but filled a gap before a long journey.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was great as was the wine and the Bar.The weather wasn't too good so we didn't verture far outside, but it looked as if it would be good during the summer.Bed was very comfortable.

There are so many steps/stairs. Wherever you go it's either up or down! There is a shortage of handrails, so, if you are a bit older, there is nothing to steady yourself with.The bathroom is upstairs within the room, so if you want to visit the bathroom during the night you have to climb up stairs - and there's no handrail.

Noise insulation is not the best, could hear people talking in the next room as if they were in ours . Apart from that, it was great.

Heating not working anywhere in the hotel, other than a fan heater behind reception! The bedroom overnight was so cold we were forced to turn on the a/c to warm the room but this was uncomfortable and noisy and obviously didn't help heating in the bathroom.The guests who braved dinner in the restaurant were all wearing coats. And putting a dog water bowl at the entrance does not make the hotel pet friendly. If we wanted to eat breakfast with our dog, we were expected to carry our food from the restaurant, up a set of stairs, across reception and back down two sets of stairs to the café. And there were no facilities for tea making in the room.
