Pros +
- Easy access and we'll kept
- We had a simple coffee OJ breakfast which was good value for money. Glad that they had solar power so were able to stay open if no kitchen service. Big cheer when the lights cam back on!
- The food was great, staff friendly and the facilities and location faultless.
Cons -
- No double bed provided.
- It is VERY noisy at night. People shouting and doors slamming until after midnight. Maybe they can look at making the doors "slow closing" and some signs to ask guests to be quiet after 11pm? We only stayed one night and woke up tired the next day with 7hrs of driving to do. It really spoiled the experience a bit.
- Staff were totally uninterested not even taking personal details from us on arrival, the reception was not manned at 07:30 when we left thus I phoned the hotel to pay by card only to be askedd to phone later in the day. The room floor was dirty and the bedding very very old.Car parking was a problem as it was not reserved for residents

Location ok however this did not make up for the complete lack of standards or quality

Good Location and everything available.
Sound proofing between rooms could be better.
Excellent location. Clean and comfortable. We have stayed here before and will stay again. Nice friendly staff. Menu of the day a bit iffy but breakfast fine. Liked the gift of honey, a nice touch.
Menu of the day. Quite a lot of items on the menu were not available.
The view.
The address which was provided on the booking.com website was incomplete. Using Google Maps and streetview I saw a slum area. I called the hotel and a woman assured me that was the address. Well it wasn't complete. After driving around for 1/2 hour I asked a local who directed me to the other side of town. They have Wifi. Better bring some homing pigeons. It will probably be faster and at least have a better chance. A hotel should understand that travellers sometimes need to leave early. There wasn't even a coffee before that time.
The location just off the road was good, really easy to find and good parking. The bed was comfy except for the pillow! It was one long pillow for the both of us. Good shower. The staff were nice. The food was good. Overall good value for money.
Proximity to the motorway is excellent. Room was well heated with air con as it was -5 outside at night.
The hotel restaurant was closed but it didn’t say so in the information. Although it wasn’t far into town the temperature was very cold and we picked that hotel especially because it met our needs and we could eat there. However that wasn’t to be.
Simple and practical for a one night stay while traveling
Staff was a bit harsh and could not help with directions or request to store very small amount of medication in refrigerator for one night. I only asked for a yes or no on this question. The staff did not speak English so communication was a bit difficult because I speak very little Spanish. I will ask before I book a reservation with Bookin.com.Also wifi did not work in the room
The bed was comfortable
The room was freezing cold. The bar and restaurant were closed. The water was turned off in the middle of a shower
The town is a useful distance from the ferry for an overnight stop. The room had everything we needed but there was no pleasure in it. It was cold when we arrived. The heater was above one of the bed heads and blew onto our faces. We chose it because it had a restaurant but arrived to find a sign saying it was closed.
Our first view was of a sign saying the restaurant was closed. I had sent a message saying we might arrive late because of a strike at the docks and they hadn't seen it. Luckily we weren't late. A perfunctory check in and a cold room. Then reception was shut up within ten minutes. We had to go off out in the dark looking for somewhere to eat. Significantly more expensive than anywhere else on our trip.
Hotel Dona Carmen is ideally situated just on the edge of the old town allowing easy access from the motorway and the ability to walk over the bridge into town. The car park was busy but we were able to park under a sheltered area. The rooms are basic and clean with views across the river into town. Pleasant, popular bar in the evening. Ideal stop off when heading North or South. Obvious signs of a popular Summer time outside eating/drinking area to the rear overlooking the river and town.
Sound transmission from adjoining rooms. We were under the impression that they served tapas during the evening but apart from tortilla the menu contained large (and not particularly cheap for Spain) raciones which were too large for two people. We would have preferred a selection of smaller tapas offerings.
Breakfast, Dinner and friendly staff
Good location and great staff
Decor a bit tired and very limited menu
Nothing really
Booked a double bed and was told hotel would try to accommodate...if they knew they couldn't they should have cancelled. They were very unhelpful.Noise was appalling til past midnight so no sleep.Beds had cheap nasty plastic matress covers that were horrible to sleep on. No bath mat for floor very dangerous had to take sheet off bed. Mosquito screen ripped and of no use. Room right next to bar and store room if it wasn't noise from the bar it was noise from store room...constant
Hotel room large and very clean and comfortable. Hotel located very close to the main road to continue our journey south. Hotel is a short walk to the old town.
Breakfast was very poor. One cup of coffee and a croissant. No access to hotel on arrival. Had to wait 2 hrs for access.
Evening staff especially Carlos were excellent, we were 1/2 board but alas the lady on this morning said "no breakfast" as I understand 1/2 board is breakfast with either lunch or evening meal, we had an evening meal on our arrival yesterday and thought it was excellent, this morning just tea and coffee!! Perhaps I should have booked room only! Shame as the hotel is in a good location and last evening it was buzzing, this morning it's like waiting for god. Honest and frank review.
Carlos last evening was a great guy, nothing was any trouble at all but this morning has made our stay somewhat less than we expected.
Parking was great .Breakfast was good for the price paid and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean
reception could have been bit more welcoming! but service in the restaurant was pleasant and friendly
Great location and good value for money
Menú a little límited in the evening
