Pros +
- While the hotel looks very old matching the medieval designs, it is pretty new. It’s also about a 12-15 minute walk to the main medieval square. So while it is in more new ‘suburb’, it has plenty of on street parking.
- Hotel is conveniently located a short walk from the old town of Olite in a lovely typical Spanish villa. We had a good sized room with balcony overlloking the garden and the bathroom was also a good sixze with walk in shower.
- The property was clean and spacious
Cons -
- Granted, we were certainly not high season, we mostly just saw the housekeeper/breakfast servicer. The restaurant at the hotel is closed and not many places nearby, so they put in a vending machine.
- Nobody at reception when we arrived in pouring rain. We had to wait for manager to come from sister hotel in town.We were shown to our room but manager did not offer to carry our luggage. No facilities to make drinks in the room and not even bottled water provided. The hotel website refers to having a garage, but it was not available and we had to park in the street outside. The hotel website also boasts a restaurant but it turned out that it is only opened when booked for groups.Breakfast was disappointing.
- When we arrived the entrance was locked and after speaking to someone through the code pad a man arrived to let us in and register us at reception. We appeared to be the only guests in what was quite a large hotel, and the reception was unmanned throughout our stay. The water in the shower was cold both on arrival and the next morning. The breakfast was served by a very pleasant woman, but we were obviously the only people there.

Beautiful hotel with a nice swimming pool. Large comfortable rooms and excellent location at walking distance of the old town of Olite.
Room clean, quiet hotel, Staff helpful, allowed me to park my motorbike inside locked garden.
Breakfast poor for priceAir-conditioning in room worked intermittently, bed springs in mattress uncomfortable-needs a topper. No bar though there was an overpriced vending machine.Pool very small not like in the photo,s.
Breakfast ok location good, 5 minutes from center of town
Walk in shower would be better for people of our age
The place was very nice! We took the jacuzzi and it was perfect. In the pictures it looked smaller or even like an older place but we were amazed because it is more “modern” than in the pictures.
The room was really hot and we couldn’t lower it
Spa bath was nice and the location. Olite is a beautiful medieval town.
One side of the bed was in the eaves so you had to crawl out of bed at night. The room should be redsigned as it is big enough to avoid this. The property is expensive compared to the parador in the centre of town.
Absolutely great hotel. We arrived early and were able to check in right away. The room is bigger than expected with a huge bed as well. Interior of the hotel and room was very pretty and authentic, lovely. Bathroom also was big and clean, with everything necessary. The pool outside is well maintained and pretty among the flowers in the garden. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols for a relaxing day by the pool. We were lucky to be the only guests in the afternoon so we could enjoy the pool by ourselves. Parking is readily available for free right in front of the hotel. Location is a little bit outside of the Old Town of Olite. Walking 5-7 minutes.
Stayed hear for 1 night on a motorcycle tour. There was safe parking for the bike at the front of the hotel. Fantastic air conditioned hotel within easy reach of the town centre. Great swimming pool.
No bar or restaurant in the hotel.
Perfect hotel and with the added bonus of a swimming pool. Within easy walking distance of the old town. Staff were friendly & extremely helpful.
Excellent, well-trained staff - a credit to their management. A relaxed and helpful atmosphere on arrival. An excellent room with superior furniture and fittings.
The only disappointment was the restaurant at El Juglar was closed, and we were directed to the restaurant at the sister hotel in Olite, the Merindad. The food was OK when it finally arrived after 90 mins but the waitress here was hopeless. She forgot about us, then brought French instead of English menus, then got the order wrong and also failed to bring our drinks with the food - they only arrived with the last mouthful. This cheerful but clueless lady is clearly in the wrong job! It could have been a spectacular success at El Juglar, but we'll never know.
The hotel has a lovely feel about it, very friendly and helpful staff and the location is perfect as it is such a short walk away from the beautiful medieval town centre, which we absolutely loved exploring.
Very clean and friendly informal hotel. Great location for us, about 5 min walk.into town. 100 yards from a bodega where we tasted and bought some great wine. Small but very clean pool in lovely garden. Would definitely recommend.
Nothing. For us it was perfect
The juglar is a small hotel 5 minutes easy walk to the town centre with excellent bars and restaurants. The continental breakfast was good, served by the hotel staff.
The only possible small complaint about the hotel was that there was no ramp all the way to reception - however you went, you had to lift your luggage up a few steps inside.
Beautiful building, pleasant garden and pool, very friendly staff, nice town where it is located.
No restaurant at site, but very helpful in arranging reservation at the restaurant of the same owners.
The location was great, only a 10 minute walk into Olite. It was nice that they let us park the motorbikes behind the locked gates.
They could fix their noisy plumbing!
The pool was great for a refreshing swim and the grounds are very nice. Located just a 10 min walk to the town, it is convenient. Next door is a great winery that does tastings and just a few hundred meters down the other way is another.
The size of the rooms is very misleading. I felt like Harry Potter. Hit my head about 4 times....and so did my girlfriend (and she's 5.6). The shower is a joke because of it. The bed was the same quality mattress as a pullout sofa bed. Finally, the aircon points at a window and doesn't cool the room. I paid for the breakfast but you can't take it or even a coffee to go. It is apparently just plate service, so when we had to leave in the mornings and just wanted a coffee and a croissant (or anything...we just wanted something for the car) they couldn't give it to us. Went across the street and got what we wanted from a local cafe that opens at 6.
Beautiful place, nice service, confortable room, nice terrace and balcony
Everything. The hotel is absolutely beautiful ?The staff are amazing and the breakfast was lovely. The rooms are stunning and everything is so clean.Would definitely return.
