Hotel Plaza De La Paz

Helpful staff and well equipped room.

Comfortable bed. Great location on the square.

No drawers and only 5 hangers. Minimal shelf space for clothes.

There was no breakfast at or very near the hotel, but there was a bar within a five-minute walk that had good coffee and a very good Tortilla Espanola. The location was very convenient and we walked almost everywhere. Unloading the car and Parking were not very convenient as the hotel is on a square that does not allow traffic.

This is a small thing, but every hotel in Spain that we stayed at (some very expensive, and some not so much) used the same horrible little trash cans in the bathrooms that have a lever to step on to open the top, but the cans are so small and light that they really don't work Someone sold a whole bunch of these throughout Spain, and they are worthless. They'd be far more functional without the lids. I stopped even trying to use them. They were everywhere!

It is located on the main square of Haro. The property is fully renovated and nice. Our room was large with a great bathroom. It was very clean on arrival and daily cleaning service. We loved our stay.

The hotel is brilliantly located directly on the plaza. While the building is old, it has been remodeled in an excellent way, and the modern soundproofing is very effective. The bed was excellent, and the air conditioning as well. The parking was easy at a garage nearby, but definitely drop your luggage in front of the hotel first before going to park. There is no breakfast on site, but there are plenty of options in the morning, our favorite being Cafe el Sol right on the plaza. When I return to Rioja, I will stay again.

The service was excellent. Victor provided great information about the town and region, as well as recommendations for restaurants. The hotel is very nice, well maintained, and parking is very secure.

Listing said it had a balcony, it did not. Parking was farther away than expected.

Excellent location and modern updated room in older building facing central square. It did have balcony, so could step out and observer the life and sound of the square. Sound isolation was great though - once in with closed windows.

It is a bit difficult to spot the hotel sign. The door was closed with no notes or instructions. Just phone numbers to call. Someone showed up quickly enough to avoid further frustration.

Not really a complaint but if you are driving I would use their paid parking

Very well located, easy to find, with lift. At the reception after the check in we gathered some recommendations for food, and they helped us book a wine tasting tour for the next day. The room was clean, spacious and although facing the square it isolated really well the sound.

The property is right on the main square of the town and if you have a room facing this direction you have beautiful views of the square and the mountains beyond. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and the staff are very helpful. We were here during the blackout and the staff loaned us €50 as we’d run out of cash and the card machines and cash points weren’t working.

No dislike

The welcome was very warm, and the room perfect. Parking was very easy and secure. Our room overlooked the delightful town square, with lively cafés and bars. The room had triple double glazing to keep out any noise, if you wished., we prefer to listen to the atmosphere created in by the locals in the early evening. Overall, we cannot recommend Plaza enough and we will be back to enjoy some of the local Bodegas. Also, ideal stopover on the way to Bilbao (1 hour) or Santander (2 hours) ferries.

The location, the large room, price/quality, clean and simple.

There is no breakfast although on the square there are enough restaurants. Parking is 300 meter away

I like the location, close to everything, was good space in the room as well at the bedroom.

I just wish we had a place to heat up water or a coffee machine.
