    Pros +

    • Very quiet. Fabulous breakfast. Good central location in Rioja to visit the Bodegas.
    • The staff was very nice and helpful. We had bikes that could be stored safely. The breakfast was very good. I can highly recommend this hotel.
    • The location was quaint and quiet. The hotel room itself was very large. We also enjoyed the homemade breakfast in the morning.

    Cons -

    • Can not think of anything that could have been better.
    • The walls were so thin, I could hear the room next to me zipping up their luggage and every word of their conversation at 7am.
    • I ticked the button for swimming pool and paid the extra price but the pool wasn’t available until the day we were leaving. I expect better from booking.com why allow an option to be part of the filter when it’s clearly not available.

A beautiful hotel full of charm . Brilliant, friendly service. Great breakfast. In centre of very sweet village. We were made to feel very welcome, as was our dog.

Great location for an hours drive into Bilbao, it’s the quietest sleepiest town ever and booked a pool to help with the nothing around there to do aspect.

I ticked the button for swimming pool and paid the extra price but the pool wasn’t available until the day we were leaving. I expect better from booking.com why allow an option to be part of the filter when it’s clearly not available.

The entire hotel was fantastic with a great use of the age and antiques to give the place a cozy feel while celebrating and valuing the historical significance. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean. There was some noise from inside the hotel (other guests) but given the age of the hotel, it was not bothersome at all and just added to the charm. Breakfast was generous with fresh baked goods and made to order eggs. The location was great, walkable to every where and even a short jaunt to Haro.

It was difficult to find at first, access was awkward to start and there is no onsite parking (but very close nearby free parking).

Nice clean rooms in a hacienda style. Good breakfast buffet.

I had a hard time finding the place, must use GPS.

I stayed here when walking the Camino Vasco Interior. I loved Briñas and this hotel. The breakfast a highlight and a great start to the day.

We had expected the property to have a restaurant when we arrived in the evening, the restaurant was for breakfast in the morning. We had our dog with us who wasn’t permitted in the one restaurant in the town but allowed in the wine bar which turned out to be fun and a reasonable pizza and burger (plus a great bottle of Rioja). The hotel breakfast was really excellent. All staff in the hotel were really friendly and helpful

It's a characterful, historic, genuine hotel in a sleepy, one horse village. Out of season there are two bars, one open (very good) local restaurant that opens at 8:30pm. Descriptions/directions from Ricardo, your host, are in straightforward English. If you like simple and traditional, then this place, and Brinas, are great.

I didn't mind but there isn't really a hotel bar, although Ricardo supplies bottles of wine.

The location was good and easy to find. The staff were helpful and pleasant.

We were not aware of the fact that the water gets turned off by the ajuntament so we were unable to have showers or clean or flush the toilet when we got to.

beautiful 18th century former palace. Good size rooms, large lounge anf extensive breakfast buffet. Staff were excellent too.

Hot water for tea at breakfast could have been hotter!

Very helpful check-in. Secure parking which was vital for us. Lovely room, clean and comfortable. Briñas itself is small but beautiful. A range of dining options.

Let's just say we had very noisy neighbours!

    10JonathanPosted on: 9-19-2024

Richard was brilliant! Despite a language barrier we still managed to communicate and have a laugh. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Perfect for an overnight stop. Good breakfast in the morning. Secure garage parking for motorcycles enough for a decent group.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location with a nice breakfast buffet. The staff was very attentive and public parking was no problem at all.

    8TracyPosted on: 9-5-2024

A very old property with lots of quirky and unique touches. Friendly staff who could understand my dodgy Spanish. Nice selection at breakfast but no restaurant (which is advertised). A nice restaurant a few minutes walk away in Briñas. Parking is on street but free.

The loud guest in the next room holding multiple phone calls at top volume!

We love the Hospederia, it was our third visit there and we make a detour on our way back from Portugal. We love the village of Brinas. I am sure we will be back.

    Everything was great.
