Pros +
- The view is amazing! We watched from our balcony the sun set over the nearby village and hot air balloons rising over the countryside in the morning. The room was very clean and newly painted. Kind of quirky when you come into the lobby area, but you can see that it was quite a unique design when originally built. Love the large spiral staircase. A short 10 minute walk to the closest lovely village of Brinas which has restaurants and cafes. From there, you can walk along a well marked path along the Elbo River to the wine-oriented town of Haro. It is about a 40 minute walk from the village of Brinas to Haro. Had a great breakfast at the hotel. Enough choices for different appetites. Good food though not fancy. Great coffee!
- Haunted like Hotel California. Old school Hotel it’s round and the doors are so old you have to use a key from both sides. No air conditioning but we opened the balcony doors and it cooled right down. Great price. The bar was great. She was going to squeeze fresh orange juice for us.
- nice view from a balcony
Cons -
- The temperature was great in the room as we came in the fall. However, it could be quite hot in the summer as the rooms do not have AC or a ceiling fan.
- bathroom needs some refreshment
- The location of the hotel is great for views but not so much for anything else. The nearest town, Haro, is only a 7 minute drive but a much longer walk and uphill. As wine will be most people's reason for visiting, this could be an issue.

Thank you Maria . Yes language is probleem because my Spanish is 0 .but she helps us this to do this Hora .very friendly people and rooms r very good and clean they have nice rooftop sittingplace niceviews . Beautiful place for stayi
The size of the room and the additional balcony were great with a wonderful view. The hotel staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful when a huge storm caused some issues. They can't help the storm but their response to it was great.

The views.
Restaurant and bar closed. No, I mean no receptionist all night and next morning. Building work at 7pm -9pm. Couple above us screaming and being violent and NO hotel staff at all on duty. Think, The Shining, I would not have been surprised if Jack Nicholson had appeared from the gloom shouting, 'Here's Johnny ' Why this hotel is open is utterly beyond me. Horrible experience.
Have stayed here before, very well situated for the Rioja region, very friendly and value for money.
I've stayed here before. The location is good for a stay when just passing through (as I was), or as a base from which to explore La Rioja. The breakfast menu available was OK
There were NO sockets at ground level from which to charge phone, etc. I had to unplug the TV and use that socket, with the phone hanging on its lead
complete rubbish
the property was stuck in the 60 .. old untidy and totally unwelcoming. the bathroom was a skating ring - when mentioned was told can you pay 5 euros for my dog..
Have stayed here before, really lovely location. Parking on site. The room was spotless and had a wonderful view.
I had a pinco and the burger, disappointed with the burger but next time I would opt for something else. Breakfast is adequate and very reasonably priced.
Easy to get to by car and a good point to start your Rioja trip. Nothing special about the property though. Fine for a 1-night stay. It could be a charming place if the owners made an effort, but that doesn’t seem like the case.
Noisy at night - only takes two people talking in the reception or dining area for all the rooms to hear it. Staff very stressed out, few staffers need to do everything in their shifts..
Easy to find with convenient parking. Quirky place with dark wood, wrought ironwork and lots of old wine barrels etc as decor. Menus in bedroom gave options for breakfast, burgers or pizzas. The hotel also offered a menú del día - tasty meat stew was good but just a plate of cubed slow cooked meat.
Staff not very welcoming or informative. We stayed on a bank holiday and a group were just leaving as we arrived whilst another group took over the restaurant the next morning. Felt as though we were the only two guests staying in the hotel and seemed as though we were a bit of an inconvenience to them. No plug in the sink or half bath. Had to prise information from staff - just asked our names on arrival.
The hotel's restaurant serves very big and tasty pizzas for only €8, -
Encountered quite a few long brown hairs in both the bathroom and the bed sheets. Probably from the previous guest I reckon. Hygiene/cleaning could be improved. Furthermore, the curtains don't keep out the sunlight, so it's impossible to keep the room dark after sunrise.
Not recommended
By far our worst stay in a hotel. Awful facilities, uncomfortable bed, dirty bathroom, noisy… absolutely awful. Price is not justified whatsoever. There were bugs in the bathroom, the shower/bath was not working properly and the bed made noise each time you moved slightly. They also only left toiletries for one person. Would not recommend and will definitely not be coming back. You can get better hotels for this price.
Ok for a stop over
No a/c and not offered room with balconyWhen there was plenty of empty rooms
Member of staff in the evening was sofia. She was more than pleasant and went ouf of her way to help. Helped carry bags to our room, served our food, got us drinks
Hotel is a bit tired, lift didn't work, rooms not the cleanest
proximity to wine country
It was rough, under construction, and not attractive. No elevator and outside area was without any appeal or landscaping. This should not happen when traveling in this area.
It could be a real gem, with a lot of character
Unfortunately our room was literally next to where lots of work is going on, think to install a lift. The work went on late into the evening and lots of sheeting fluttering causing noise throughout the night.
Oscar was a very helpful and nice person and the lady who served breakfast was also. We liked the little touch of providing stuff for our dog and the location was ideal for us and we will be returning.
Friendly staff. Bar and restaurant. Spacious rooms. Good price.
