    Pros +

    • The room was modest, but comfortable. A good value for the price and close to where we wanted to be. We ate at the restaurant on property and it was very nice.
    • Walking distance to town sites. Historic building.
    • Our group adored the facilities and the staff. Each room was comfortable and roomy, the location was perfect for walking through Avila, and the staff were joyful and helpful. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    Cons -

    • As I stated, the room was modest, but a good value for the price paid.
    • Room was falsely advertised as room with garden view in description and picture of normal sized window toward a garden. It had the tiniest of windows more of a hole in the wall toward the street. Check-in in evening is via automat. When I tried to get room with garden view by calling a phone help reception they told me they had no room with garden view left and that I had booked a cheap room via booking. The booking.com help service tried to contact the hotel with my request to get a better room for the next day. Booking.com did not get an answer until the next day when it was too late.
    • Everything was fantastic.

Great central location just outside the old city walls, but just a couple of minutes walk from a gateway. Quiet location. Lovely clean & comfortable room. Mountain views from room. All major sites walkable. Close to many bars & restaurants. Friendly, helpful reception staff. Good powerful shower. We ate in the restaurant one night & the food & service were excellent. All good

Staff was friendly, however available only during limited hours. it was clean and location was good. they speak english

I could hear people in the room next to me. this needs attention. shower had warm water, not hot. the a/c was taking ages to warm up the room

Beautiful hotel very close to the Walls and all the tourist attractions. Facilities are amazing, also pets are welcome.Staff super friendly.

    Location and cleaning

The clerk spent up to 20' explaining about touristic attractions to previous guests. We were tired and wanting to check in and rest, but she preferred them to us. With us she spent less than 2 minutes giving us the keys

Just outside the walls of Avila so close to the sites, restuarants and churches. Very reasonable price. Katherine at the front desk was very helpful and displayed great customer service.

There was no breakfast served or restaurant/ bar open or available during our stay. The room was very warm but was able to open the window.

I loved the hotel building itself -- a renovated 16th C house with exposed stone and brick walls, wooden beams in the ceiling, odd angles, unusual windows, and a view of the City Walls. The other one of my windows looked out onto a charming garden. The room decor was modern, crisp, clean, and innovative in its adaptation to the 16th C building. Having toured Toledo a few days before and seen the re-creation of El Greco's kitchen and studio, the hotel building and room allowed me to feel as if I was in that time. Finally, the location, just outside the city walls, was excellent. The advance work from the staff to guide me to the closest parking garage was particularly appreciated.

    It was all great fun.

Helpful receptionist. Beautifully appointed rooms. Old building which hadn't been ruined with paint and modern accessories. Lovely stone walls etc.

    9McmanusPosted on: 10-12-2024

The reception staff were delightful and very helpful.

The only very, very minor confusion was the restaurant opening time. It was advertised as 7.30pm but I was told that it was closed when I went there at 8. It wasn't a problem as reception had given me a long list of alternatives. Loved it.

Very good Hotel in the perfect position. Spacious room. Big bathroom. Spotless. Very bid plus - Spanish language in TV can be changed to the Original. Close to the historical center. Highly recommend!

    9RalphPosted on: 10-7-2024

Great location. Very friendly receptionist and helpful. Good shower.

    Room a little cramped.

    8RichardPosted on: 9-25-2024

The location was good, right outside the old town walls. A park with excellent view of Spanish plains is only a short walk away. It was quiet except of the cars going by in the street next to the hotel. The housekeepers were nice and one of them fix my soap dispenser. Room and hallways were kept very clean.

Check-in experience was bad. I received an email saying that no one will be at the reception until after 2pm. I arrived at almost 4pm and no one was around. I was told by a person via intercom to use a machine to enter my reservation number and get my key. It was frustrating because the check in machine was not working properly. Finally, I was told by another person via the intercom that my keys are upstairs at the restaurant. Why did they say so before telling me to use the machine?

Air Conditioner did not work, but night was cool so not a problem.

    10MsPosted on: 6-26-2024

location, clean and comfortable with everything you need. set in pretty courtyard gardens on southern side of the wall. 100m from one of the gates.

no 24 hr reception but self check-in machine easy to use and there's a number to call if you need help.

    4GilbertPosted on: 6-4-2024

Spacious room, within walking distance to plaza and cathedrals.

The unbearable heat with an air conditioning they 'couldn't' put on was ridiculous. The excuse was it gets cold at tonight. Our thought was what do we do during the day when we want to take a siesta?

    9NickPosted on: 6-4-2024

Location and ease of parking. Staff were friendly and helpful

Bedroom would have benefited from a better main light. Perhaps inform guests the state of the air conditioning - it was off due to the season and only produced hot air

    10RichardPosted on: 6-3-2024

Staff were excellent, friendly and informative. Great location.

    9Ver277Posted on: 5-18-2024

Conveniently located just outside of the walled city. Clean and large room. Check in was done by machine but was pretty self-explanatory.
