Cons -
- There was very loud music, I am not sure if it was downstairs in one of the event spaces or outside, I think it was downstairs. It was so loud I could hear the lyrics and couldn't fall asleep until 1am but the music kept playing.
- The hotel kitchen was located under our room. Obviously, we could hear a little noise but earplugs solved the problem entirely.
- The restaurant was just ok & tour groups were noisy leaving in the morning.

I am sure everyone says this - but it is location - the hotel is immediately opposite the cathedral. Of course the walled 'city' of Avila is small - but it is still great to be right at the centre.
The location couldn't have been better.
The man at the front desk could have had better people skills. Perhaps he had had a rough day. If you are driving you need to expect to pay for parking. We sometimes forget coming from the US that these vintage cities are much older than our country.
The location of Palacio de LOS VELADA, right next to the cathedral, cannot be beat. It is a converted palace, and it has a lovely patio space that has been converted into a bar/restaurant with excellent food. Their breakfast buffet is huge, with many choices, and a value at 12.50 euros.
Amazing palace transformed into a great hotel. Food is great, breakfast is amazingly diverse and the staff attention deserves an A. The room and the decoration was lovable, and well though for the context. The location is the best you can get to enjoy this historic city with its medieval streets and alleys. The restaurant , bar de tapas and the breakfast room settings were perfect, as well as the food they offer.
The bed, is the only thing that should be improved. After a whole day of walking and exploring the overwhelming historic heritage, a great comfy bed for having a reparation sleep, it is an indispensable perk.
The hotel is beautiful and our room was tastefully done. It had all the amenities and was quite spacious and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed dinner at the restaurant one night and it was excellent.
No complaints about the hotel, but it has been a few years since we were in Avila (have been here many times), and our hidden gem has turned into a booming tourist attraction :(
Location Restored palace
No view from room. Like all of Spain no dinner until 8pm or later
I loved several things: the location, the friendly staff. Most of the amenities in the room.
No view, but at least was mostly quiet.
Central location , across from cathedral Excellent breakfastGreat staff
The breakfast and location were excellent!
We would have enjoyed coffee in the room and a tea kettle for tea.
Well organised clean and comfortable at a fair price
Location was wonderful. Excellent breakfast buffet.
The parking. We had to park remotely, below ground. Getting the car to and from the garrison was a big hassle. The bath tub is very narrow and it is difficult for a medium to large sized person to shower. Our views out the window we over a roof and not very pleasant.
The location is good and the whole building have old style fashion, I love it very much. The breakfast is outstanding, must try it if you live here.
The design for the room is quite old style.
Fantastic location right next to the cathedral in a beautiful old historic building. Walking distance from everything! They had a very convenient parking garage right at the property. The restaurant was good and breakfast was great! Lots of different options.
The staff at the restaurant were borderline rude, however, the staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The beds were a bit hard for our taste, and some rooms have a view of the interior courtyard through a windowed dome which isn’t the best. Better to ask for an exterior view.
The location and the breakfast were quite good!
The AC didn't work properly. Being next to the ceilling, it was very difficult to fall a sleep!
Nice hotel, great location, very nice restaurant, great breakfast
Bed too hard
Stepping into the courtyard was a take-your-breath-away moment the setting is really lovely. Large, comfortable room. A capacious bathroom done in Delft blue tiles. The multiple course meal in the dining room was very good, but started at 8:30 pm, late for us. We discovered that we could eat at the non linen tablecloth section of dining room from a fine bar menu that provided earlier dining.
The elevator could use adjustment to avoid the feeling it’s breaking down with loud thump and bump.
The location was excellent, staff was professional, restaurant was super well setup and the metro D was a magnificent as well as waitresses, attention and the food was an experience..
