Pros +
- It’s a cute hotel inside the walls. It definitely gives the medieval vibes, with all modern amenities you can expect. Staff was really helpful and amicable, with valuable tips where to eat and where to park our car.
- Location, restaurant, spacious room.
- Very well situated to the sites to be toured and to the eating places.
Cons -
- It was hard to figure it out how to drive to the entrance to the hotel to unload the car. I understand that that it’s a medieval city and there’s some renovations ongoing, but a map would definitely help. Definitely I’m nitpicking here
- THIN walls
- The property is nice but just be aware that you can on occasion hear the people in the floor above you moving. Other than that we had a wonderful staying in that hotel.

THIN walls
Very well situated to the sites to be toured and to the eating places.

The hotel is located in the heart of old town inside the walls. From the small balcony of the room facing the street, you can see the Cathedral. Just a short walk to restaurants and historic sites. Avila is a MUST visit place in Spain. The staff was courteous and breakfast was delicious.
All went well. I wish the “balcony” was larger, but I u feet and the limitations due to historical preservation.
Great little hotel in the centre of the old town, friendly staff, very nice food, excellent pizza, great ribs and breakfast was also delicious. Big bonus allowed to take dog into restaurant.
Centrally located, steps from the cathedral and the famous walls of AvilaComfortable room, cozy but modern hotel
Internet in the room wasn’t working (network didn’t even appear on my phone).
Location, great coffee, and check-in was very easy. Parking was close by.
Flat pillows.
Very nice staff in a beautiful area. The rooms were amazing, modern and clean and the restaurant was very nice. Once the roadworks are finished then it will be a lovely place to stay.
The hidden costs. On Booking.com it said that there was no extra charge for a dog. When we arrived, no one told us that this was not the case or what the charge was for the car park. This was unfortunate as we had to pay €31 the following morning that we were not informed of the night before. The hotel needs to be more transparent on costs for the carpark and for dogs.
No one was there to answer phone. Got so lost going to the hotel. Not an easy hotel to find within the walls When I arrived I mentioned to the girl your phone system does not work she tried and suddenly it worked. I trued just before she did and it went straight to answer phone. the staff are doing multiple jobs at the hotel . Reception, waitress etc.
Answer the phone when lost within the walls of the town. Took us 2 hrs to find with external help. Awful.Horrible lighting in the hotel. Never again
Location could have been good if no major roadworks ongoing and parking had been onsite
Rude , unhelpful staff with very poor attitude for service industry . 2 rooms had no window ( only skylight) and too hot . Air con not temp regulated . Nothing boutique about this hotel . Parking is offsite and luggage made access difficult . Hotel staff didn’t really understand tourists travel with luggage
Location
- Very unfriendly staff. - No own parking: They say they have parking but the street is under construction so you need to reserve a parking spot around 250m from the property for €16! And it is from 12h pm to 12 pm. We wanted to keep the car there until 14hs, but we couldn’t. No flexibility ay all. They claimed they had just 4 parking spots but they could have checked if the other guests were really coming all at 12pm, which I highly doubt. - if you have your room facing the restaurant, you cannot open the window as it is quite noisy
Best breakfast ever, nice big room
The room was cold when we arrived and the heating was slow. The room also needs more light.
The street heading to the hotel was under constriction and I lost 30-40 minutes circling through those narrow streets trying to get close to it. Actually the hotel has nothing to do with it. We are unhappy with our stay because it was very cold in the room and the hotel itself was freezing. We put the heat on high and at 3am it hardly reached 20 degrees. At 8 am it was 23 degrees only. Cold room cold floor and dark. Even when we walked to the breakfast area it was very cold there too. The room was very dark, not enough lights in the room. In a lot of hotels (like in Toledo) you feel like you are home: the hotel room is very friendly, nice, warm and hospitable. This room was Very unfriendly and sad room with 2 very small windows. The breakfast was very poor too. Just ordering from a menu: juice, coffee and a piece of bread with a slice bacon on it , sitting in a freezer . You are shy to ask extra coffee and don’t want to leave a tip on the table. “Good Bless America” I always say. Big hotel rooms, perfect internet, smart TVs, nice beds and breakfast. I do understand that it’s a small town and not very busy with tourists. Especially at the end of November.
The location and the steak house next to it.The steak house looks great: try it.
Good breakfast. Excellent location for exploring the Town.
The parking is tricky but glad to have it.There needs to be a way of communicating when guests arrive so the gate can be opened in advance for the car park. Also a description needed as to the location of the car park. The drive down to the car park is a little tricky but again, glad to have the car safely and securely parked.
Staff not accommodating when asked about why water interrupted. Very rude.
The water interrupted prior to bathing.
A great place to stay in Avila. it's location and service were terrific. excellent breakfast with the best friendly service in the whole trip. easy parking nearby. Great bed.
The service was fantastic. When we arrived, the door to our room would not close. We were quickly allocated another room. The location is perfect. Thank you for a perfect 1 night stop over ??
Spacious rooms, beautifully renovated house, comfortable bed in the center of Avila’s historic old town.
Cleanliness was the main problem. Due to the dark rooms, with th dark floors, it is difficult to clean all corners of the room - bathroom had dirty splatters on the walls, hair, etc.
It is a small hotel with everything close by inside Muralla de Avila. Location can’t beat!
Location was excellent- within the city walls and adjacent to the cathedral.
Restaurant closed on Monday!
